    Eton2

Where is it?: Dorney Lake, Court Lane, Dorney, Buckinghamshire.

How do you get there?: A journey by road or rail is the only real option. If you are travelling by road, Dorney is about 25 miles west of London, near Windsor, and can be accessed via Junction 7 off the M4, although you will have to use a park-and-ride service to the venue, as there is no public parking there.

As for rail travel, Dorney is close to two National Rail stations — Slough on the Paddington line and Windsor & Eton Riverside from Waterloo. Shuttle buses will run from both stations, as they are 15 minutes' drive from

  • Teen Basketball giant dominates school rivals

It's not quite fair to say that high school junior Mamadou Ndiaye stands out. It's more like he stands above.

At 7'5", Ndiaye is easily the tallest high school basketball player in California, and we can pretty much safely say, the rest of the United States as well.

In fact, the 17-year-old is so tall that the Guinness World Records recently tried to track down an official measurement to determine if he is the tallest high school basketball player in the world.

None of those strict delineations are particularly important, of course, because one thing is certain: Ndiaye is so tall that he's

  • Striker wins match with ‘scorpion kick’ goal

The Bolivian League season started on Sunday and Erlan Mealla of Nacional Potosi certainly opened it in style as his wonder goal sealed a 1-0 victory over The Strongest.

Mealle managed to swivel his body perfectly to execute a wonder backheel 'scorpion kick' that flew into the corner of the net.

The 'scorpion kick' was first made famous in England by Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita when he cleared a ball off the line in such a fashion during an international friendly at Wembley in 1995.

However, to guide one into the back of the net - and from distance - is something else, as you can see

  • Olympic history: London 1908

The mammoth White City StadiumAfter the problems of Paris and St Louis, a version of the Olympic Games was organised in Athens in 1906. Known as the Intercalated Games, the plan was to stage them at the same venue every four years in between the touring Games.

The first attempt is credited with doing much to steady the Olympic ship, but the festival has never gained official recognition from the IOC, so the fourth Games were London's in 1908.

Programme from 1908 GamesInitially they were scheduled for Rome, but Italy's economic problems were exacerbated by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 1906. Faced with the cost of rebuilding the area around

The Cumbrian duo decided to make the trip to raise £50,000 for a children's heart unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Their preparations started last summer, with the pair packing enough provisions on board to supply them with the 8,000 daily calories they each needed for

  • Quotes of the week: I’m a phenomenon

The self-proclaimed ' phenomenon' that is Sir Alex Ferguson

"I'm a phenomenon….Young people can do something else. When you're older and you've been on that treadmill for (the) length of time I've been on it — if I get off the treadmill, where do you think I am going? Down there. Trust me. When you get older, don't retire." 70-year-old Sir Alex Ferguson on why he is still going strong at Manchester United in his 26th year in charge.

"I have a big problem, I can't write so I don't keep anything. I am the most disorganised person, I am ashamed to say, in the world. You talk to anybody at the football club. I don't write. I couldn't even fill a team

  • Ball boy earns huge ovation at Australian Open

Tennis fans at the Australian Open were treated to a thrilling spectacle when Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in a pulsating semi-final on Thursday.

But one of the biggest cheers of the night was reserved for the ball boy, who wowed crowds with an athletic catch that would have shamed a Test cricketer.

14-year-old Dylan Colaci has since become an internet star as his catch has been replayed round the world.

"I didn't have much time to think about it," said modest Dylan.

"I just stuck my hand out and the ball just stayed there. I couldn't believe it myself but then I just had to get

  • Niko Kranjcar: Now we know what he reads in his (plentiful) time on the benchA group of Premier League stars have picked their favourite books to help boost literacy through the Reading Stars scheme - though some of them have let the side down spectacularly by picking their own literary efforts.

One player from each of the clubs in the top flight recommend their two favourite books, one for adults and one for children.

Some of their choices were beyond reproach: Tottenham's Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar picked genuine classics To Kill a Mockingbird and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, while Brazilian writer Paul Coelho's highly-regarded novel The Alchemist

  • Boxing pundit’s brainfreeze live on air

Former international boxing judge Chuck Giampa retired from the ring to embark on a new life as a TV pundit at the weekend.

It was a big move for the veteran of over 100 world title fights - but sadly, his TV career received a knockout punch almost instantly as he froze on air after being introduced to viewers for the very first time.

Even funnier than Chuck's brainfreeze was that fact that his gaffe made it look as if there is nothing whatsover going through the mind of a top boxing judge, an assessment that may be shared by many of those who have witnessed his often controversial scoring at

The children took to the ice in a new rink in Namestovo, Slovakia, to play alongside former Montreal Canadiens and New York Islanders star Richard Zednik.

But parents at the side of the rink suddenly noticed bits of the ceiling had started to fall onto the ice and quickly screamed at their offspring to evacuate. What happened next is almost beyond belief:
