There were touching scenes in Sweden when Malmo and Norrkoping's stars spontaneously stopped play to honour AIK goalkeeper Ivan Turina who passed away this week.

In the first Swedish league match since his death, Turina's picture and number (27) were flashed up on the big screen in the 27^th minute of the match.

The entire crowd started to applaud and the players, without any prompting, stopped the match and joined in.

Turina died at the age of just 32 on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.

Real Madrid great Alfredo Di Stefano, who will be 87 in July, has proved he still has plenty of joie de vivre by announcing he plans to marry a Costa Rican woman 50 years his junior.

Considered one of the greatest players of all time, Argentina-born Di Stefano said he was getting married to the 36-year-old Gina Gonzalez in the next few weeks "because I want to and I have been a widower for eight years".

"Each madman to their own," he was quoted as saying in Saturday's edition of El Mundo newspaper.

"I am in love and I am marrying Gina," he added. "I am 86 but I have a young heart."

Kenny Pemberton had dreamed of his club reaching the famous old stadium, but sadly died of a heart attack last year aged 49.

Wrexham face Welsh rivals Newport County in the one-off match to decide who reaches the Football League.

His brother Paul will take the urn to North London.
