An amateur golfer has embarked on a £750,000 legal battle after a wayward shot on a course in Scotland cost him his eye.
Anthony Phee, 44, said he felt his eye "explode" when it was struck by a ball in August 2007.
He has raised an action for £750,000 damages against Niddry Castle club in West Lothian as well as James Gordon, who struck the shot in question.
In the action it is said that Mr Gordon struck the shot from the 18th tee and Mr Phee claims that he ducked and raised an arm when he heard the traditional shout of "fore".
