  • Drag racing car explodes at 260 mph

A drag racer walked away unhurt after his car spectacularly burst into flames at 260 mph.

Matt Hagan was racing in the qualification round at the Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina last weekend when his engine exploded.

Amazingly though he seemed more perturbed that his race was over than with the flames that surrounded him.

Hagen emerged from the car and instead of seeking medical attention he picked up a piece of the wreckage and threw it to the ground.

You can watch the dramatic incident in the video that should autoplay above.

  • NBA star to release Liverpool trainers, fans annoyed

LeBron James' trainers have not gone down well

Basketball superstar LeBron James is a minority owner of Liverpool FC so he has decided to honour them by releasing a "Liverpool edition" pair of  trainers.

A nice gesture for sure, but the design has already angered Liverpool fans due to key mistakes on the shoe.

As a story on the official website of Liverpool owners New England Sports Ventures says: "The shoe features the signature LFC red on the outsole and 18 league championship trophies on the bottom."

However, the trophy used to represent the club's league triumphs appears to be modelled on the Premier League trophy — a trophy that the

  • Finally, your chance to play ‘Golfoot’

The Swiss have long been masters of the art of innovation. They might not have invented chocolate, trains, posh watches or pursuing the concept of world peace, but when it comes to pinching the best bits of others' ideas and making them work they're the men.

But that has left the Swiss with a problem. What do you do once you've conquered the worlds of confectionery, mass transport, elegant timepiece design and keeping your heads below the parapet?

Why, you turn your hand to reinventing sport, of course. And so the Swiss have now brought us 'Golfoot', a marriage of two of the world's most

  • Player sees red for ludicrous high kick reaction

A Russian footballer has become an unwitting internet star after his moment of madness started doing the rounds on the internet.

The incident took place during a Russian third division 'futsal' game - a variation on five-a-side football that has proper touchlines, which if you ask us is a genuine shame given the hilarious off-the-wall shenanigans that usually ensue in the average British five-a-side game.

The trouble started when the defender - clad head-to-foot in black, like any self-respecting villain -  missed a sliding tackle on his opponent, who went on to slot home past the keeper.

He had already shot to prominence when videos of him tricking his way past one defender after another appeared online, though for a long time his identity was unknown.

Sport, the Spanish newspaper, report that Kubo's family have moved to Barcelona, and though he does not live at their La Masia academy he comes in daily to train, and

The Hashim's yacht aground in St Peter Port, Guernsey

A pair of wannabe sailors have won unwitting fame after they bought a yacht on Ebay - only to crash it within minutes of starting out on its maiden voyage.

The boat initially stayed in the marina to be patched up a little, but with the work done the duo were excited to get out onto the waves - despite the fact that the sun had gone down by the time it was ready. They decided to test the water by moving the yacht from the
