Couple vilified after denying baseball to crying boy

A pair of US baseball fans have found themselves labelled America's greatest villains after apparently stealing a ball from a tiny child during a game.

The couple, Sean Leonard and Shannon Moore, caught the ball when it was tossed into the stands by Texas Rangers star Mitch Moreland during a game against the New York Yankees.

They instantly started jumping up and down and holding the ball up for pictures, sending the distraught boy into a frenzy:

Shocking scenes, according to Popular Opinion on the Web, which led to the couple being labelled the "worst people ever" and sparking a debate on when you can and can't keep a ball.

The couple claim they simply didn't notice the boy blubbing next to them as they were caught up in the moment - though considering the sort of volume he looks like he's pumping, that seems hard to believe.

Luckily, someone in the adjacent Rangers dugout noticed what happened and tossed a ball to the boy to placate him.

Leonard and Moore - who are to get married this weekend - apparently found out later what happened and were devastated - even offering the boy their ball. But he already had one by then, and America's Most Wanted were denied a chance of redemption.
