While Cesc Fabregas was huffing and puffing on the pitch during Barcelona's Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain his girlfriend was going through a far more trying physical ordeal.
However, it turned into a special day for the former Arsenal man as he become a father for the first time when his girlfriend Daniella Semaan gave birth to a baby girl that they called Lia DURING the match.
With Lionel Messi only fit enough for a place on the bench, Fabregas started the match and rushed to the hospital as soon as it was finished to meet his new bundle of joy.
"Yesterday it was the happiest day of my life, our daughter Lia Fàbregas Semaan was born. Both her and Daniella are doing very well," Fabregas tweeted on Thursday
Semaan, who is from Lebanon, is actually 13 years older than Fabregas and it was her third child.
Last November, Semaan's ex-husband and father of her first two children hit out at Fabregas for "stealing his wife."
Elie Taktouk, a property tycoon, told the Sun at the time. "He (Fabregas) is 25 and a fool.
"She went after him and she would leave him as soon as his money and fame run out. He is no David Beckham."
Current Arsenal and Spain star Santi Cazorla also became a father and called his new daughter India.
Coincidentally, or maybe not, it is nine months since Spain won Euro 2012 – both Fabregas and Cazorla were members of that victorious squad.
