AIK Stockholm fans knew their men had the toughest of jobs on their hands when Russian giants CSKA Moscow came to play them in a Europa League qualifier.
But rather than cross their fingers and hope for the best, the plucky fans decided to take direct action: they headed to the CSKA team hotel in the dead of night before the clash, and staged a noisy firework display.
And it's wasn't just fireworks: AIK fans also brought whistles, air horns and their stunningly loud voices in a 4am orgy of noise to wake up the opposition.
It didn't last long: police happened to be nearby, and were on the scene within two minutes to call a halt to the noisy display.
Sadly for the AIK fans their ingenious plan did not seem to do CSKA much harm: the Russian side won 1-0 at their opponents' ground and are odds-on favourites to win the return leg and thus progress to the group stage.
