There are plenty of people you might single out as being potential stars of the London 2012 Olympics but most athletes still don't know if they will even be at the Games.
However, Italian shooter Niccolo Campriani can already start making plans for his trip to the British capital after winning the 10m air rifle final at the ISSF World Championships in Munich.
That victory ensured the 22-year-old became the first person to qualify for the Games - almost two full years before the Olympics begin.
"I can't believe I am the first qualified athlete," he told the Daily Telegraph.
"This is going to help me, the sport and our federation, in the future. I am so happy."
Campriani competed in the same event in Beijing and finished 12th.
More shooters in other disciplines then also secured their Olympic berths, with Zuzana Stefecekova of Slovakia being the first woman to book her spot.
