Quotes of the week: ‘He treated me like a dog!’

Sorry seems to be the hardest word for Carlitos Tevez...

"I was kind of in a bad mood and when (Mancini) brings on De Jong and takes off Dzeko, and we're losing 2-0, I thought it was a defensive substitution. So I decided to sit back on the bench. So I'd already warmed up for 10 minutes and he has this attitude that he wants to lose 2-0 instead of 4-0.

"So I sat down and at the same time Dzeko comes off and is really angry and has a go at Mancini. He then sees the tunnel is closed so he has to sit down next to him and they start to have an argument. Dzeko was speaking Bosnian and Mancini would swear at him in Italian, so it was a real mess.

"So I go and sit down and he doesn't see me because he's having this discussion. But then he turns around and sees me and you can imagine what happens. He's in the middle of an argument. So then he tells me to keep on warming up and treats me like a dog. So when he spoke to me in that tone of voice I said 'no I'm not going out'. So I was willing to play but the coach was in such a foul mood, because he had that argument with Dzeko, he started on me as well, started swearing at me.

"That was him, because I was very calm. I was just sitting on the bench and you could see from the footage I was calm and just talking to (Pablo) Zabaleta. Mancini said some horrible things to me."

Roberto Mancini does not quite see it that way... "I totally disagree with Carlos, what he said, because I never treated him badly. Maybe the opposite, I treated him too well, always."

"I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't the popular choice. I know I am, it's been everywhere, in every paper every day." (Harry Redknapp is feeling the love)

"Part-time? In the short term I think it's possible for the European Championships. In the long term it's not possible to manage a club team and manage a national team. It's difficult enough to manage in the Premier League without having to worry about managing the England team as well. You want to be watching England players play, you want to be watching the opposition." (Redknapp only wants one job)

"Let's be honest, you'd love to have Paul Scholes in the Euros this year. He'd be in your team, he's that good. You'd love him to play. He plays like a Spaniard, he can play like (Barcelona's) Xavi and (Andres) Iniesta. He doesn't give the ball away." ('Arry is already picking his England team)

"We've said to Harry - and frankly Harry's said to us - that he loves the club, we love him at the club, the spectators love him, the players love him, the coaches love him, we all want him to stay, it's a fantastic job, he loves it." (There's a lot of love for 'Arry from Sir Keith Mills)

"In broad terms, supporters can be reassured that Rangers will continue as a football club and we hope to reach a stage as soon as possible where the club can emerge from administration." (Rangers' administrators deal in gloom)

"The most die-hard Celtic supporter understands that Celtic can't prosper unless Rangers are there." (Alex Salmond attempts to add some perspective)

"They don't have to back my project. It's the owner who backs my project." (Andre Villas-Boas embarks on a one-man project)

"This club has big history but it's not just history, we believe this club is going up and trying to be at the top again." (A bullish Jose Enrique)

"The result is important and Galliani was right when he said we could have scored five or seven. But there is always the return leg and we will have a huge advantage." (An understatement from Zlatan Ibrahimovic)

"I may look arrogant but no because I hope and I believe we're going to win all of our games to finish in the top four." (The ever bashful Didier Drogba)

"Agger is a top quality player and great on the ball, the understanding between us is working. Away we have things in common, such as tattoos and cars." (Martin Skrtel and Agger are clearly a perfect match)

"I am very perplexed as to why I was dismissed as the manager of Huddersfield Town." (Lee Clark cites unfair dismissal)

"I have won the title seven times and the team (as Brawn GP) won both titles last year, so what do you expect?" (Michael Schumacher piles the pressure on himself)

"David Haye didn't want to fight. He just kept running away from my brother. He didn't come in to fight. I expect a better fight from Dereck Chisora. He's actually fighter. He wants to go in and fight and to go the distance. He tries to challenge his opponent and I didn't see that in the last fight between David Haye and Wladimir Klitschko." (Vitali Klitschko hammers the Hayemaker)

"In number eight Klitschko goes down. He knows that he got a young fighter, hungry, looking to take his title, and he's going to have to bring out his best game ever." (Dereck Chisora sells himself)
