Zidane scores quality goal in charity match

Zinedine Zidane showed he still oozes class with a quality strike in a charity match in Porto Alegre, Brazil on Wednesday night.

The French World Cup winner captained a star-studded team in the (original) Ronaldo's annual 'Match Against Poverty' game.

A host of legends played in the match – including Zico, Juan Roman Riquelme, Roberto Carlos, Romario, Bebeto and current Brazilian superstar Neymar.

However, while some of the players seemed to have let themselves go a bit in retirement, Zidane still looked in great shape as he glided around the pitch in his trademark, unrushed style.

The highlight of the evening came when he finished a lovely one-two with veteran Uruguay striker Loco Abreun with a volley into the corner of the net.

Sure the keeper should have saved it, but it was still a reminder of just how good the now 40-year-old former Real Madrid and Juventus star is/was.

That goal put "Zidane and friends" 2-1 in front but Ronaldo's team fought back to win 3-2.
