For celebrating his side's victory over England with a nonchalant stroll onto the outfield

3. AB de Villiers
For trying to kill the crowd at The Oval - hitting 79 off just 34 balls against Scotland
For having an eye like a dead fish - a strike rate of 155
For being the best 'in the circle' fielder in the world

4. Yuvraj Singh

For being a captain's best friend whenever asked
For still only being a teenager

Honourary mentions:

Catch of the tournament: Kyle Coetzer's astonishing leap at long-on in Scotland's match against South Africa. He's from Aberdeen, honestly.

Fielding moment: Angelo Mathews' leaping forehand smash against West Indies after catching the ball on the right side of the line only for his momentum to take him over the boundary.

Sycophantic award: David Hussey whose favourite player is Mike Hussey.

'Up yours bruv' award: Mike Hussey whose favourite player is Allan Border.

Irony award: Scott 'Miley' Styris. Favourite Twenty20 player - Nasser Hussain.

Non politically correct commentary award: Simon Doull for 'great work by Marty two toes' (Martin Guptill has only two toes on one of his feet as the result of a forklift accident).

I don't like this format award: Brett Lee with tournament figures of 8-0-95-3.

The 'maybe we should have lost the final' award: England's women team whose reward for their all conquering feats are a terrace reception at the Houses of Parliament followed in early July by a visit to 10 Downing Street to meet the Prime Minister.

  7. excellent article Cow Corner! i'm always on Eurosport for footy, but considering i come from a cricket-crazy country, i'm laughing my rear off with this edition of your blog. Well done! perhaps under 'I don't like this format," section you could add Younis Khan for saying "this (T20) is fun cricket," classic moment.

  8. well done to the womens team! i don't watch cricket but i managed to watch the two hour drubbing england gave to the kiwis and it was great! if that had been the mens team they may have not made the first test of the ashes! they would have been p*ss*d up celebrating! i mean, the ashes victory was 4 years ago and they have lost a series 5-0 after it! im male but i think there should be a great amount of credit given to "the best team in womens cricket by a country mile" i believe nick knight said?

  9. Great reading Cow Corner. Thought you might have added Worst Captain but it might have upset Colly. Quite ironic that he wants to continue to captain the T20 team perhaps that is the only way he can guarantee a place and the dough that goes with it.
