  2. 16:27 - Victory for Greg Van Avermaet!! The powerful Belgian, riding for Silence-Lotto, takes a comfortable win ahead of Rebellin and Flecha. Now will Martinez take the gold jersey?

  3. 1km - The escapees are together as they go under the Flamme Rouge.

  4. 5km - The breakaway bunch are starting to get frisky and Flecha attacks.

  5. 10km - Astana seem to have decided to relinquish the lead as the group of Martinez now lead by nearly eight minutes.

  6. 20km - Other rider to benefit from this break is Rebellin who started the day 10:24 behind the leader.

  7. 30km - The breakaway is back up to 6:43, could Martinez snatch the overall lead?

  8. 40km - Leipheimer's Astana team have stepped on the gas to reduce the lead of the breakaway riders to 6:18.

  9. 50km - Moncoutie leads Ballan by 27 points in the mountains classification and Martinez is now the virtual leader of the race after starting the best placed of the escapees in 16th, 6:41 behind Leipheimer.

  10. 60km - 6:45 is the margin after Moncoutie led the escapees over the last climb of the day at Serrablo.

  11. 70km - The gap has reduced slightly with the boys in orange, Martinez and Perez of Euskaltetl-Euskadi, doing most of the work on the front of the lead group.

  12. 80km - The lead for the breakaway riders has surged to six minutes.

  13. 90km - Moncoutie has picked up 21 mountain points today and is set to take the climbers jersey from Alessandro Ballan.

  14. 100km - The order over the third category climb of La Foradada was Moncoutie from Perez, Tonti and Cunego.

  15. 110km - The advantage of the leaders has now grown to 2:40.

  16. 120km - The lead group consists of CUNEGO, FLECHA, VAN AVERMAET, MONCOUTIE, MARTINEZ plus Alan PEREZ, Andrea TONTI, Xabier ZANDIO, Patrice HALGAND, Christophe KERN and Davide REBELLIN. They lead by 1:20.

  17. 130km - Silence-Lotto's Greg Van Avermeat was first at today's opening sprint ahead of Egoi Martinez and Moncoutie.

  18. 140km - An 11-man escape group featuring Moncoutie and Cunego has formed on the descent and they have a 40 second lead on the peloton.

  19. 150km - Moncoutie takes top spot at the Coll de l´Espina, ahead of Philippe Gilbert, Alan Perez, Cunego, Alberto Losada and Amets Txurruka.

  20. 155km - Damiano Cunego and Paolo Bettini are part of an attempted breakaway on the Coll de l´Espina.

  21. 165km - A fast moving peloton has foiled escape attempts by Milram, Euskaltel, Xacobeo-Galicia and Silence-Lotto.

  22. 175km - The escapees were caught on the descent.

  23. 185km - Ignatiev took maximum points at the summit, followed by Tjallingii, Moncoutie, Agnoli, Flecha and Martin Velits.

  24. 190km - Mikhail Ignatiev, Juan Antonio Flecha, Maarten Tjallingii, David Moncoutie and Valerio Agnoli have attacked on the Alto del Tunel de Vielha.

  25. 195km - Silence-Lotto rider Matthew Lloyd was the man who did not start today's stage, leaving 161 riders in the race.

  26. 201km - The final of three tough days in the Pyrenees sees a 201km ride that features climbs of second, second, third and first category before the drop down to the finish. 161 riders have set off from Vielha/Mijaran to Sabinanigo.
