16:24 - Di Luca needed 1:35:49 to stay in pink but crosses in sixth place in 1:36:23. He will drop to second on GC.
16:22 - Denis Menchov wins in 1:34:29, 20 seconds faster than Leipheimer!!!
16:20 - Michael Rogers comes across the line in 1:37:14, 12th place for the Aussie, and he will drop to seventh on GC.
16:16 - Levi Leipheimer over the line in 1:34:49 to take the lead. That may even be enough for second on GC behind Menchov. But will it be good enough for the stage win?
16:14 - Franco Pellizotti of Liquigas takes third ahead of Wiggins in 1:35:56 and he is likely to go fourth on GC.
16:10 - Ivan Basso (1:36:46) and Carlos Sastre (1:36:47) are seventh and eighth respectively. They may climb a place on GC with Rogers struggling.
16:06 - David Arroyo (1:39:09) and Thomas Lovkvist (1:39:30) cross the line and my by calculations will remain in the top 10 on GC.
16:04 - DI LUCA has faded badly, he crosses at the 44.5km mark in 1:15:39 and that is 1:46 behind Menchov. The Russian is poised to take the pink jersey.
16:02 - Di Luca has just had an angry confrontation with a member of the tifosi who tugged at his arm.
16:00 - Tadej Valjavec will also slip behind Armstrong after losing 1:09 to the Texan.
15:58 - MENCHOV is 34 seconds quicker than Leipheimer at the 44.5km mark.
15:56 - Gilberto Simoni finishes in 1:37.29 which gives him tenth place.
15:54 - But LEIPHEIMER has taken the lead at that point, 1:14:27 is 30 seconds quicker than Garzelli.
15:52 - PELLIZOTTI second at 44.5km in 1:15:29.
15:50 - Armstrong will definitely leapfrog Yaroslav Popovych, Kevin Seeldrayers and Laurens Ten Dam on GC.
15:48 - Marzio Bruseghin of Lampre crosses the line in 1:36:46, he goes sixth.
15:46 - SASTRE's is only 58 seconds down in fifth place at the three quarter point.
15:44 - SIMONI, tenth on GC, is through the 44.5km mark in ninth at 1:55 and will stay ahead of Armstrong.
15:42 - Armstrong could well move into the top ten on GC after that performance.
15:40 - Di Luca through the 34.5km point in 53:24. That's tenth position and 46 seconds slower than Menchov. He has lost just three seconds over those 16km.

15:34 - MENCHOV leads at 34.5km, 52:38 is 12 seconds quicker than Garzelli.
15:32 - ROGERS is 14th at 54:04 at the second time point as Mauricio Soler crosses the line having lost over six and a half minutes!
15:30 - Levi Leipheimer is third at 34.5km, just three seconds behind GARZELLI and two behind at BOSISIO.
15:28 - PELLIZOTI is third at 34.5km in 53:08 with BASSO ninth at 53.50, four seconds quicker than SASTRE (10TH) 53:54 with SIMONI (14TH) 54:18. LOVKVIST and ARROYO are not in the top 30.
15:26 - After 18.6km, Denis Menchov 32:36 v Danilo di Luca 33:19. The Russian has cut 43 seconds into his 80 second deficit on GC.

15:22 - Janez Brajkovic of Astana takes the lead by 45 seconds from Wiggins. 1:35.43 for the Slovenian as Michael Rogers goes through the 18.6km point only 16th fastest.
15:20 - Levi Leipheimer is second at 18.6km in 32:54. He twetted earlier: "Wait til you see the TT today in the Giro, it's once in a lifetime. Brutally hard on an amazingly beautiful road!! It will take 1.5 hrs."

15:10 - Wiggins sets the new benchmark at the finish, his time of 1:36:28 is an impressive one. An average speed of 37.69kmh on this hilly terrain.
15:05 - At 44.5km, Garzelli (1:14:57) continues to set the pace.
15:00 - Marco Pinotti of Columbia-Highroad takes second in 1:37.56. Armstrong meanwhile is fifth at 34.5km, 29 seconds slower than Garzelli.
14:55 - Di Luca has rolled out of the start in the pink jersey.

14:45 - Garzelli is one second quicker than Bosisio at 34.5km with Wiggins third, 23 seconds back.
14:40 - Armstrong goes through the first check point in 33:36, only good enough for sixth place and 43 seconds slower than the new quickest man at that point, Gabriele Bosisio. Giovanni Visconti of ISD has just smashed Millar's time at the finish, posting 1:37:17.
14:35 - Ivan Basso and Carlos Sastre, seventh and sixth respectively on GC, have just come off the start ramp.
14:30 - Talking of birthdays Mark Cavendish is 24 today, he crossed the line in 1:48:00 which puts him 84th of the 98 finishers. Stefano Garzelli is 26 seconds quicker than Wiggins at the 18.6km point.
14:25 - Happy Birthday to Eurosport commentator Sean Kelly who is 53 today. He has just watched Bradley Wiggins go quickest at the first intermediate time check after 18.6km with 33:22.
14:15 - David Millar has just posted the fastest time. The Scot was a mere four seconds quicker than Bertolini. 13:15 - We are heading into Riomaggiore, a village and a commune in the province of La Spezia. The village, dating from the early 13th century, is known for its historic character and its wine, produced by the town's vineyards. Riomaggiore is in the Riviera di Levante region and has a shoreline on the Mediterranean's Gulf of Genoa.
13:05 - Alessandro Bertolini of Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni-Androni Giocattoli has just gone quickest at the second time point. Jeremy Hunt is the first Brit to finish in 1:46:40.
12:55 - Dockx is the first man to cross the line in 1:45:13 but Mikhail Ignatiev of Katusha is right behind him and is 2:51 quicker.

12:25 - Mark Cavendish went through that time check, 2:25 slower than the man from Ukraine. He won the 11th stage in a sprint finish following a 214km run from Turin to Arenzano. How It Happened
12:15 - The first 50 riders have been through the first check point and Yuriy Krivtsov of AG2R La Mondiale is setting the pace on 34:56.
12:05 - The final quarter sees a 3km descent and after five flat kilometers, the course drops just over 200 meters in 3km. The final kilometer in Riomaggiore is flat.
11:55 - The Passo del Termine is an 8km climb with an average gradient of 6.1% that rises 537 meters. The maximum gradient is 10% and the third intermediate time check comes at the top of the climb with 16 km to ride to the finish.
11:45 - After the Passo del Bracco, the riders face 7.5km of uphill false flat before a steep, technical descent between 26km and 35km. This is where the second intermediate time check occurs.
11:35 - After 2.8km the climb of the Passo del Bracco begins. It lasts 15.8 kilometers with an average gradient of 3.8% although there is a maximum gradient of 8%. The first intermediate time check is at the summit.
11:25 - Cervelo's Jean Paul Van Poppel on today's route: "It's not the usual time trial. In fact it is very unusual. It contains super hard climbs and the downhill is very technical. Everything is there and everybody can go to their maximum."
11:15 - The top 20 on GC go at three minute intervals with Jackson Rodriguez away at 13:52 UK time and the pink jersey of Di Luca off at 14:49.
11:05 - Bart Dockx of Silence-Lotto - 187th and last on general classification - was first out of the start ramp.
11:00 - Italy's Danilo Di Luca has a lead of one minute and 20 seconds going into today's 12th stage, a 60km individual time trial in the Cinque Terre region on Italy's northeast coast from Sestri Levante to Riomaggiore.
