Former world champion Tom Boonen has been allowed to take part in this year's Tour de France by a French arbitration court, according to his Quick Step team. Tour organisers ASO had earlier banned Boonen from the race after the Belgian failed an out-of-competition test for cocaine.

Dutchman Thomas Dekker ruled out of the Tour de France after a positive test for the banned blood-booster EPO. At the time of the test, Dekker was riding for the Rabobank team, but his current team Silence-Lotto have issued the ban after a sample from December 2007 tested positive.
