Matchday Open Thread

Not sure about the line up this week.  Looking over it, it just seems to be a smorgasbord - some strange collection of two gamers who may or may not play, and cheap filler.

Kalou and Alves up top.  Alves - was last week a fluke or is he the genuine article.  Ballack, JCole, Barry (on the barn door for @Der), and Big Fats Frank and Andy.  Terry, Baines, and Sun - the enabler, in front of Hilario.

Thanks to all for the feedback on my QEMM - quien es muy macho? - post earlier.  I decided to go with Ballack and Kalou.  SWP and the Elk are now sure to post huge numbers this weekend.  Especially since Neal has the Elk in his lineup.  But without any other information I figure I'll go with the usual starters and hope they get the majority of the playing time and the points.

The one exception to this idea is Baines.  With all of Everton's midfield woes, I'm hoping that he gets a run on the left side of the midfield.  Always hoping.

What are you hoping for?  Who are you betting on?  And have you figured out how to afford Green and FASDA(shton) next week?   Let us know all about it in this, your matchday open thread.

I like your picks. My quandry is whether to punt Matty Taylor for Lescott of Jags. Gabby seems cheap up front, so I poached him, though if I move Matty for Jags, Young replaced Gabby. Fernandes in the midfield. Lamps is a given. Matejovsky replaces Palacios in an attemptto steal both points & the title in my league. Pulled within one more good week of 1st place in my league last week tapping Wigan's version of Matty Taylor, getting 35.5 pts in last minute chair shuffle. Good luck, one and all!

As posted earlier... loading up on Hammers vs. Rams... proceed w/caution... Noble and Solano, if fit, make the most sense, to me.... at the current moment in time...

gone for chelsea players as i dont see everton, missing key players, doing enough in midfield to trouble chelsea. i agree, with the termiol at birmingham seems a good time to play em. but you may as well pick villa players @ derby if its 1 game points ur after. i think the drog may start at least 1 game maybe 2 anyway i av him at + 5 so hard to offload

Thinking about Defoe as im second in my league and need a wild card, as a pose to the obvious choice of Gabby. Will Defoe do the business or am I mad?

One more two-gamer to consider... Carsley. From Birmingham, even if he does cap for Eire... could be enough inspiration for him to bang one in. I hope so! He just made my final squad... He's a good lad, Carsley.
