Some days The Manager wonders why he even bother to turn on the computer - except for the fact that he needs it for his job(s). This morning it hits him across the face with the news that Cech may return for the Wigan match. Why the rush? This is Wigan. At Stamford Bridge. And we've got Hilario on our fantasy team! The season in a nutshell.
Of course, adding insult to injury is that Carson at 4.3 was the original keeper for the week. And @Der, he put up 15pts. Of course, this is the second weekend in a row that Villa has demolished a relegation candidate - if not a relegated team. And "Team Who is playing Derby?" was there to collect 107 points. Harewood and Carew didn't make the team as we needed Routledge and Berger to make the money work. BFAY the big winner with 24pts on a great all around performance. He even out tackled Barry (with 15 himself). The defenders were a little disappointing with around 5 each, but if that were your real team, you'd be pretty happy this Monday morning.
Elsewhere, ManU eliminated Arsenal from title contention. Hargreaves is showing himself to be a potent attacker, and of course CRon... CRon crushes the minnows, doesn't get rested for any matches, and is not bringing his game against the other big lights in the league. He's simply a phenomenon. Since I sold him:
Games played:6
Games rested: 0
Goals scored: 7 (3 assists, 17 shots on target)
Points: too many to countStill two matches to go this week, Che/Wig and Eve/Che. Remains to be seen who will play for Chelsea, but they need to win to keep the pressure on ManU. Here's hoping for their starters to get the minutes and get the points.
Until next week,
The Manager
