Surprisingly, there isn't a ton to report this morning on the injury front. Most of the interesting news comes at striker where RvP will be rested, Rooney appears headed for a place on the bench or (more likely) the stands, and - one imagines - Torres will rest because, really, why would you put him in harm's way in a meaningless match after pulling him out of the Champions League semi-final because of a tight hamstring?
What does all of that mean? At Arsenal my best guess is that it means K2 and Bendtner up front with Walcott continuing out side. At ManYoo, it probably means CRon and Tevez up top with Nani and Giggs playing on the wings. At Liverpool, it likely means nothing more than the beanpole getting another run in the team before hea leaves over the summer.
Elsewhere...
[updated] Arteta, who was earlier reported as being back for the match with Arsenal, has now apparently been ruled out for the rest of the season - looks like time to find another premium midfielder if you had him in your line-up...Stephen Kelly faces a fitness test for Brum meaning the cheap Frank Queudrue could feature but that's certainly not a guarantee...Benni McCarthy is doubtful making Jason Roberts spot against Derby seem all but assured...Ryan Taylor will move back to right back for Wigan for the last two matches to fill in for Melchoitt - he'll probably lose some points from the run of play but you have to assume he'll still get his share of kicks...Baros will be back to partner Defoe but I'm not sure why you'd care...
The rest of the drama for the week revolves around manager's selections...who will be rested? who will be risked? what youngsters will get their chance to shine in advance of next year? Would be nice if there were better reporting on these things, huh?
Best of luck sorting through the vague statements and guessing based on what happened last week and maybe the week before...and remember, when in doubt go for the person who is more likely to play lots of minutes.

By the way, sorry for my lack of knowledge. Is Tevez eligible to play against West Ham tomorrow?

Posted by: jspitzberg on Sat May 03 04:21AM | Report abuse"Ryan Taylor will move back to right back for Wigan for the last two matches to fill in for Melchiot" which means he's "eligible" to receive clean sheet points, which Yahoo sometimes/often/never seem to award when listed defenders play other positions (see all the Eboue complaints). How about a blog name for it, the "Eboue effect" or something, or just say a player was Eboue'd when that happens.
Posted by: dugferd on Sat May 03 06:45AM | Report abuseI don't know whether to risk keeping Samba or getting Warnock. Warnock is a sure starter and can get in crosses but Samba has high chance to score in any match, especially DERBY but he is doubtful. Any advice?
Posted by: zzzeclipse on Sat May 03 09:09AM | Report abuseWarnock, just for the security. If there's even a slight doubt about Samba, I don't think he'll be risked against Derby. Warnock does have one goal and three assists, to Samba's two and zero, plus far many more crosses. Samba gets a lot from blocked shots, but how many shots would he face against Derby?
