Everton boss David Moyes could be without both Joseph Yobo and Tony Hibbert when the new campaign kicks off.
Hibbert has been struggling with a knee injury picked up at the back end of last season, with the full-back still not sure whether he will need surgery.
And Yobo could be missing as well following confirmation the Toffees' influential central defender has been plagued by an ankle injury during Nigeria's recent World Cup qualifying programme.

Missing Yobo is a blow, but presuming Baines is healthy, Lescott can slide infield into his more natural central spot. It also makes Baines, or perhaps Valente, a very attractive fantasy option, depending on his price. However, the right back spot is a little more problematic. Phil Neville would have been the choice to slot in there, but he may be needed more in the midfield with Lee Carsley having moved to Birmingham. And the second option for Moyes at right back would have been Yobo!
So certainly dominos to keep falling at Everton.
