Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has undergone "successful" surgery on his right ankle, but will probably miss the start of the season.
The 23-year-old was operated on by professor Niek van Dijk in Amsterdam on Monday morning, and a hospital spokesperson said he will be discharged on Tuesday.
The Premier League champions said he faces at least a month out, making him unlikely to be fully fit for the start of the domestic season on August 16.

Last year we had his early 3-game absence due to a red card. And now we'll definitely start the season without him. So, where does your +10 money go now?
Happy with this as it allows a bit of choice for everybody in the first 3 games. It will then divide everybody when he is back as to wheather to put him in or not
I can never justifiy paying 28 mill for anyone...although if his price comes down to the low 20's i'll snap him up!

i think ronaldo will leave for real madrid even thoug sir alex has asured that he will stay @old trafford...he should be allowed to leave to avoid any rift between him and the club.even if he leaves man utd will continue to add to their existing silverware

Did he trip over the ottoman on his way to perform the surgery?
