Aston Villa - Birmingham Ashley Young

An abbreviated I&S today with more to follow tomorrow.  But the gist so far is this...

ManU will field a weakend but not weak side.  Look for Rafael, Fabio, Neville and possibly Ferdinand in front of Kuszsak or Amos (!?) with Fletcher, Gibson, Macheda and Welbeck in the side too.

Villa have doubts over their Youngs with Ashley more likely than Luke.  Milner may again play at right back.

Downing is out for Boro.  If Adam Johnson were in the game he would be interesting on the left.  But he's not, so moving on...

NUFC will be missing Beye and Bassong from their defence and Owen remains a doubt.

Chelsea and Everton will likely field strong sides, but neither really have a choice considering their squads.

Arsenal will be missing Almunia and Fabianski is a doubt, but expected to play.  However, K2 may not.

Nelsen will be missing for Rovers.  This is a hit for those of us looking to field PRobbo and also - I'm guessing here - Samba will be moved back to center back with McC alone up top.  Of course, Givet and Ooijer could fill in the center back spots.  The question would be how well against a WBA side who are terrible on the road but still trying despite their relegation.

Citeh may have Robinho back and Zab came in the side last week as well which puts a dent in MPet's chances to start.

Pompey have lost James and Hughes while Wigan will again be without Valencia and Kirkland.

 More tomorrow!

  2. Why does Yahoo! feel that Chelsea will play a full line-up? Wouldn't they be in the same situation as Everton and protect their stars for the final coming up next week?
How useless are the projected line-ups that Yahoo! put out? They have injured players (e.g. THudd) included even after they confirm that he is out.

  3. they are usless and never follow the correct lines ups (i.e fields two strikers for teams that generally don't play 2 at the front) Don't trust yahoo, skysports or soccernet are better

  5. So what are all you guys doing here then - remember it's a GAME we're all playing - and even if they pay Jeremy and Neil for their efforts over the course of the season - WE DON'T PAY them a penny so quit the moaning!
Thanks to Jeremy and Neil for a wonderful season (even though I got pipped two weeks ago after holding poll position all season in my work league).
Looking forward to 09/10 league! Cheers...

  7. this is what i'll end up with if i follow the 'no friday trades' rule:
    -
    PRoblem
    Pants, Mok, GNev
    Gerrard, Lamps, Ballack, Fletch
    Arshaving, Torres, Elk
(i'm guessing it's a pretty common front line, but I had a hard time letting go of any of those three)

  9. @5 ~ What the hell are you talking about. We are not talking about the bloggers but rather the Yahoo! pages up front that list the projected line-ups.
Since noone commented on my Chelsea question I guess that means everyone assumes that Chelsea will play their #1 squad.
mbean.rm: Although there is a "No Trade on Friday" rule there isn't a "No Trade on Saturday" rule.

-good point on the saturday trades, forgot the deadline was not till sunday. more time to tinker
-from what i've read Guus was just talking of making 2 or 3 changes and not resting his core players. He said how he doesn't want to give them time off so they will be in "good rhythm". I think he'll keep most of his #1 squad

  11. the interesting thing for chelsea is if they are dominating, to what extent do they spend the rest of the match trying to get anelka the golden boot? yep, lpool spent 90 trying to get torres a goal a couple weeks back and his points amount to 3 that week, but if chelsea spend the match setting anelka up, could be a good week for him

  12. Okay Hindink stated he will not rest many players, that being said Lampard will surely play as will the Elk. But which Elk will show up? I bought him unfourtunately after the BD so 17mil seems pricey for a player that can either net 2pts or 22pts. It all depends on his mood and the time he gets to play.

  13. Okay just Friday Traded, got rid of the Elk and shifted out my defense to Spector, Shorey, and Givet to field Cesc and Drogba. Yey final week now a long summer of FIFA!

  14. Deciding on taking a risk for this weekend. I'm a good deal behind in many of my leagues, but close enough that I can possibly make a run at the top 2 or 3 for most of them, and hopefully hold onto the lead in one. So long as I can manage to keep myself from tinkering, I'm going with some relegation candidates and some others who will be looking to make an impression. Hoping not too many people will go with similar lineups.

ANYWAY, this last week is killing me "softly". IF (biggest word in the world with only two letters) I just had 102 to spend for my team. I'm sooooo between Torres/Utaka and Robinho/Brown...decisions,decisions. That's what I like about Fantasy...Love it!!!
