Fantasy Premier League

Thank you

Mon Oct 23 04:36PM by Jeremy

For probably not the last time this season, I would like to thank Thierry Henry for rescuing my week.  1/4 of the budget.  1/7 of the players that actually played this week.  1/2 the points earned.

Honorable mention to BFAY and Little Timmy Howard who combined for the other half of my points.

No-shows killed lots of us this week. Berbatov, Ronaldo, M King, Murphy, Trabelsi, Aurelio... That's the "luck" part of this game. Which, on weeks like this, seems to overshadow the "skill" part.

Mattozan, have you been looking at my team sheet again? Save for King, that's my MIA list.

Henry is an interesting case study on fantasy EPL strategy. Less than 15% of fantasy managers had him in their line-up last week. However, in looking at the Overall Leaders thus far in the season, 7 of the top 10 had Henry slotted, and 24 of the Top 50.

How's BFAY? I clicked the link but it seems to be broken. I had the same story this week. Robben (25.5), Arteta (21.5) and Assou-Ekotto (9.5) were my only point scorers. Lescott did get me 6 pts though. I think the rest of my team managed a combined average of approx. 0. Darren Bent knocking off the 1 or two points I did gain from players like Hilario, Petrov and Young.

Jeremy or Neal I think you've have to consider Bolton players for now, Jussi got an awesome match last time, 40 points for a keeper, wow, and Campo, you wouldn't bet on that. Buth Jussi is too expensive now, but his matchup with MAN UTD is a bit tempting

Isn't the whole "you wouldn't bet on that" thing the reason Bolton is recommended to avoid? Jussi actually has racked up a lot of point, even before this week he had a great average, but now he's just too darn expensive.

Pretty amazing that through Week 10 no player has scored more fantasy points than........no, not Henry, nor Lampard, nor Rooney or Ronaldo, but Bolton's Jussi Jaaskelainen. And what's even more remarkable is that at no week during the season has the Finnish keeper been owned by more than 2% of all fantasy owners.

I broke the number one golden rule and the fantasy gods smited me. :( After having had Henry for the last few weeks and not really got the return we all expect from him I went and dropped him this week in order to fund a half decent midfield... On a positive note my last minute switch from Cahill to Arteta paid off. On the negative switching from Giggs to Ronaldo most definately didn't.
