Movers and shakers: Bobby on the beat

Wed Oct 21 01:56PM

During the season our regular feature will detail whose value is rising and falling.

UP

Bobby Zamora
(FW, Fulham, 10.89) +4.64
A goal and an assist for the normally punchline-worthy Fulham striker almost doubled his price.

Heurelho Gomes (GK, Tottenham, 11.15) +3.71
The Brazilian announced his return to the Tottenham team with seven saves and a win against Portsmouth.

James Beattie (FW, Stoke, 11.75) +3.70
Scored both goals in Stoke's win against West Ham, but he is now best avoided.

Ledley King (DF, Tottenham, 11.93) +3.67
The non-training Spurs stalwart scored a towering header and also clocked up six interceptions.

Antonio Valencia (MF, Man Utd, 13.44) +3.36
Finally made a worthwhile contribution for his new club, scoring United's second against Bolton.

Abou Diaby (MF, Arsenal, 10.05) +3.24
The wildly inconsistent Frenchman was back on form for the Gunners, scoring in the win over Birmingham

Kevin Prince Boateng (MF, Portsmouth, 10.27) +3.14
Despite talking like a South London rude boy, the Fresh Prince of Fratton Park can play a bit.

Craig Gordon (GK, Sunderland, 6.77) +3.08
Four saves, a clean sheet and a win against Liverpool, and not a beach ball in sight.

James Collins (DF, Aston Villa, 13.07) +2.62
The Welshman is now mighty pricy after heading Villa's winner against Chelsea on Saturday.

Damien Duff (MF, Fulham, 10.62) +2.56
The winger has had a new lease of life at Fulham, and was the key man in Monday win over Hull.

DOWN

Curtis Davies
(DF, Aston Villa, 7.56) -2.68
A strange one, as he is currently out with a shoulder injury. Put it down to a 'market correction'

Petr Cech (GK, Chelsea, 10.71) -2.47
The big Czech would have scored even worse than -5.5 if there were an 'indecision on crosses' category.

Robinho (FW, Manchester City, 11.87) -2.30
Did not play against Wigan. Maybe the game knows something about those rumours he will be sold.

David James (GK, Portsmouth, 6.30) -2.09
After beating Wolves, Portsmouth reverted to type by losing to Spurs, and Jamo's value plummeted.

Ashley Cole
(DF, Chelsea, 11.41) -1.91
That goal glut meant Cole was overvalued, and a price drop was bound to follow the defeat at Villa.

Emmanuel Adebayor (FW, Man City, 13.44) -1.84
An anonymous display against Wigan was the king of thing Arsenal fans grew to know and love.

Tyrone Mears (DF, Burnley, 7.12) -1.64
The only question about Mears is how come he got so expensive in the first place?

Brian Jensen (GK, Burnley, 5.62) -1.58
Lowest scorer of the week. Burnley's great Dane got minus-8 after the derby defeat to Blackburn.

Stefan Maierhofer (FW, Wolves, 3.83) -1.49
The Austrian's debut goal was followed by a red card. An up-and-down start to his Wolves career.

Carlton Cole (FW, West Ham, 10.17) -1.47
Not looking like such a dead cert for the World Cup any more is he? Missed out at Stoke.

  5. I got 7 untouchables on my team due to discount, form and week 9 match up. Leaves me 42.29 to spend on 1 defender, 1 mid, and 2 forwards as I'm on a 3-4-3. Currently have Bassong,Ballack,Keane,Anelka..... my fear being Ballack & Anelka actually starting and also playing at all on saturday after CL today. Any better ideas on how to spend this 42.29 for those 4 positions ?

  7. 'SHAKANORBS' I'd go for Bent, Drogba (scrap anelka), Bendtner, Bullard & Heitinga personally... Or Warnock instead of Heitinga.

  8. well this guy ain't got what it takes to give advice...let me tell u something for this weekends matches......i am 90%....sure that this will work.....so this is it... try putting terry,A.cole, bosingwa for this weeks games...just think of it,,,,,, againts blackburn......what are the odds of blackburn scoring.1 to a million.... ya it seems like it. dont forget they will have to do without F.di.santo. cause he is not eligible for this game.so if u have him, then get rid of him before its to late...enough of that ,the reason i told u to put them three is because defenders will get 6 points just fot a clean sheet it is lamost as good as scoring a goal isn't it.i would recommend cech as the goalkeeper.........need more tips just send me an e-mail to hardeep8067@yahoo.com.......
