Viduka Out For Six Weeks

Wed Oct 25 04:33AM by Jeremy

Middlesbrough striker Mark Viduka has been ruled out for six weeks after X-rays showed he broke a toe in the derby against Newcastle.

Boro are currently 12th in the Barclays Premiership, with Massimo Maccarone and Jason Euell the likely contenders to partner Yakubu until Viduka returns.

Shame.  He'll miss his twice annual "two goals just in front of the transfer window" scoring explosion.

I would assume that Boro will revert to their 4-5-1, but Euell might just push up into a more advanced attacking role.  That is interesting as Boro are (albeit on the road) facing a reeling ManCiteh and Euell is cheap at 5.25 (albeit as a striker, not a middie).

Seems like Yakubu scores well when Viduka is beside him

The banner? I just refresh the page and then it's usually gone.
