During the season our regular feature will detail whose value is rising and falling.
UP
Steve Simonsen (GK, Stoke, 10.00) +3.85
Blimey, bet you didn't see that one coming. A late stand-in for Thomas Sorensen, Simonsen bagged 26 points at Spurs.
Hugo Rodallega (FW, Wigan, 14.43) +3.63
The Colombian's excellent two-goal salvo at Burnley pushed his price into the stratosphere. Better to stay away now.
Ivan Klasnic (FW, Bolton, 8.35) +3.59
The Croatian could be a Fantasy gem if he manages to nail down a refular starting place for the Trotters.
Frank Lampard (MF, Chelsea, 21.87) +3.22
That's more like it. Lampard ended an uncharacteristically barren spell with two goals in Chelsea's 5-0 rout of Blackburn.
Cameron Jerome (FW, Birmingham, 8.63) +3.11
He has been a bit-part player for Birmingham this season, but an assist and an interception were enough to send his price skywards.
Fabio Aurelio (DF, Liverpool, 13.32) +2.88
Aurelio's set pieces and eye for an interception made him a stand-out Fantasy performer against Manchester United.
James McFadden (FW, Birmingham, 10.98) +2.81
He only does it three or four times a season, but just occasionally McFadden looks world-class. This is not a new dawn.
Clint Dempsey (MF, Fulham, 11.39) +2.48
Prior to Sunday, the American had the most shots on target of any player in the Premier League without scoring. Not any more.
Gael Clichy (DF, Arsenal, 13.17) +2.44
Despite Arsenal's late meltdown, Clichy had four tackles, four blocked shots, three interceptions and a last-man saving tackle.
Fernando Torres (FW, Liverpool, 20.48) +2.43
Liverpool won't mind being over-reliant on the Spaniard as long as he stays fit. Finished ruthlessly against United.
DOWN
Heurelho Gomes (GK, Tottenham, 7.67) -3.48
Stoke's smash-and-grab win at White Hart Lane was galling for owners of Gomes, who did not even get to make a save.
Francesc Fabregas (MF, Arsenal, 17.33) -2.64
A surprising off-day for the Arsenal skipper, whose price drop will make him a popular pick for the North London derby.
Vito Mannone (GK, Arsenal, 7.67) -2.19
Ditto Mannone, but you have to wonder if two dodgy performances might see his dropped for Manuel Almunia this weekend.
Dimitar Berbatov (FW, Manchester United, 11.23) -2.07
The Bulgarian was a monolith ofr ineffectiveness against Liverpool, and managed to get himself booked to boot.
Darren Bent (FW, Sunderland, 11.84) -1.88
The Black Cats striker had a rare off-day against Birmingham that saw him return to respectable affordability.
Tim Howard (GK, Everton, 8.32) -1.86
Paid the price for Everton's defensive nightmare against Bolton, shipping three goals. Faces Aston Villa this week.
Edwin van der Sar (GK, Manchester United, 11.18) -1.76
Any keeper that is beaten by David Ngog deserves to lose value, and that is just what has happened to Van der Sar.
Ryan Giggs (MF, Manchester United, 12.07) -1.74
Well, he had to stop being brilliant at some point, but United's Welsh veteran picked a bad time to lose his mojo.
Diego Penny (GK, Burnley, 4.51) -1.64
Poor old Penny came on for the injured Brian Jensen, conceded twice and saw his value drop. Jensen should return against Hull
James Collins (DF, Aston Villa, 11.54) -1.53
We told you he was too expensive, and the Villa centre-back shed over 1.5 million despite an OK showing at Wolves.
Do people actually play this terrible and extremely unbalanced game? Theres a much much better version at the Barclays official site...
what about Agbolanhor, Dunn and Milner for next week?
what do u want from Berbatov seriosly???
absshere - what do you mean?
Re: fionnualgallagher (4).
But why are you here then?
van der sar made superb saves you @#$%.
Which place do you, Fantasist, take in the overall ranking? Could you include that in some of the posts you do?
any news on the double fixtures??? west ham and villa?
any news on the double fixtures??? west ham and villa?
@11) I think the Fantasist is a character created by Yahoo, played by some random employee that does nothing but state the obvious with no insight into the games. I LOVE the game and really don't pay attention to the blog too much anymore.
the fantasist = paul parker!!
@16:
If this is true, then little wonder...
Why isn't Ricardo Carvallho not given points for a clean sheet?! Chelsea won 5-0!!
Why isn't Ricardo Carvallho not given points for a clean sheet?! Chelsea won 5-0!!
Why isn't Ricardo Carvalho given points for a clean sheet?! Chelsea won 5-0!!
@18, 19 & 20: Carvalho was subbed on 67', so no clean sheet point for him.
@12 & 13. And good news to everyone!!!! West Ham united - Aston Villa match has just been added.
@22 - Does that mean we will have a double week featuring Villa and West Ham?
Why isn't Lucas Neill in the database????????? He got an assist for Saha on the weekend in an improving Everton team. CMON GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!
@23. Yes, that's what it means. You should at least put some players of both WHU and AST in your team as they can score points for you in 2 matches. Good thing that i barn doored Gabby and Diamanti last weekend!
@21 Thank you!
