During the season our regular feature will detail whose value is rising and falling.
UP
Aruna Dindane (FW, Portsmouth
15.23) +7.88
If you had Dindane, you are a genius, a lucky so-and-so or a
liar. Whichever category you fall into, a massive haul of 45 points made the
Ivorian this week's top player.
Graham Alexander (DF, Burnley,
9.82) +4.06
Two goals for the veteran midfielder (still listed as a
defender) sees his value rocket, although at 9.82 he is no longer such a shrewd
investment.
Manuel Almunia (GK, Arsenal, 12.21) +4.04
The Spaniard is back and in the points after four saves and
a clean sheet made him the pick of this week's keepers.
Shay Given (GK, Manchester
City, 10.84) +3.22
Pre-weekend, Given represented great value. Twenty-five points
later and his value has soared to 10.84.
Erik Nevland (FW, Fulham, 8.14) +3.14
It's not often the lightweight Norwegian features in this
column but his goal and assist against Liverpool
brought him to the fore.
Dimitar Berbatov (FW, Manchester
United, 14.01) +2.85
Amazingly, United fans were just about to get on the
striker's back before he slammed in that stunning volley, sending his price
above the 14 mark.
Jody Craddock (DF, Wolves, 8.73) +2.78
The tough defender netted a brace to hold his former club
Stoke to a draw and was one of the top performing defenders of the weekend.
Edin Van der Sar (GK,
Manchester United, 13.79) +2.61
Another keeper, the United shot stopper's price is slowly
but surely rising back to where it should be following his return from injury.
Andy Reid (MF, Sunderland, 13.21)
+2.48
Another great display from the little midfielder now sees
him priced at 13.21.
Brian Jensen (GK,
Burnley, 7.99) +2.45
The Dane seems to be over his slip and 'injury' sustained
during the defeat to Wigan. He roared back
with three saves and a clean sheet.
DOWN
Hugo Rodallega (FW, Wigan, 11.83)
-2.60
After his goalscoring exploits of the previous week, the
only way was down for the Wigan hitman. And so
it proved with a drop of 2.60.
Jose Reina (GK, Liverpool,
9.82) -2.35
Three goals conceded against Fulham deepened Liverpool's crisis but at least Reina is approaching affordability.
James McFadden
(FW, Birmingham, 8.64) -2.34
Two shots on target were not enough for McFadden to haul his
sorry derriere out of the bottom three this week.
Chris Kirkland
(GK, Wigan, 4.95) -1.87
Another four shipped at Portsmouth
brought Kirkland's
season total of goals conceded to 19. On that form, you'd be mad to pay even
4.95 for him.
Kenwyne Jones (FW,
Sunderland, 9.99) - 1.80
Raised arms equals a red card and minus points. Simple.
Jloyd Samuel (DF,
Bolton, 4.40) -1.59
The Bolton defender accrued
the most minus points of the week - a massive -8.50 - although he only lost
1.59 in overall value.
Geovanni (MF, Hull
City, 8.45) -1.54
He may not have deserved it, but the Brazilian's dismissal
was costly in terms of fantasy points.
Philipp Degen (DF,
Liverpool, 4.63) -1.41
Ditto.
George Elokobi (DF, Wolves, 3.72) -1.34
An own-goal and a yellow card is a recipe for disaster and
it showed with a huge minus-seven score.
Matt Duke (GK, Hull City,
6.03) -1.24
Two goals conceded were just enough to see the Tigers keeper
make it into our list of losers this week.
Yahoo, please make sure that you correct Collison's assists/points please.
Fantasist - Can you please ask Yahoo if they can add Gillermo Franco, West Ham Forward, to the game. He's played a couple of games already and I would like to have him as an option...I mean, he's taking Diamanti's place so why not get him on the system. Thanks!
Hi Fantasist~
