Sleepless night for fantasy managers

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed he may rest Thierry Henry for Saturday's Premiership clash with Newcastle United.

The Frenchman was upset that Raymond Domenech played Henry and William Gallas for the entire 90 minutes during the midweek international friendly with Greece.

Henry scored the only goal of the game but Wenger is concerned that he might be lacking sharpness on Saturday.

"Well, it is a lot of demands on him physically," stated the Gunners boss.

"That's the main worry.

"He played only on Sunday, then Wednesday, Saturday and Tuesday.

"So, of course, I can't influence it and we have players back. I can focus to give a rest maybe to one or two of the players who played for 90 minutes [in midweek].

"I will decide that overnight."

I'm not quite sure I believe that he'll rest either Henry or Gallas, but this is the sort of thing that keeps fantasy manager awake on Friday nights.

  1. I don't know, Id have a hard time seeing newcastle posing any problems for arsenal, even without henry. Even if they were he could easily rest him on the bench an bring him on in the event of newcastle magically being good. so from wengers point of view it might be a good idea...i think ill stick with drogba.

  2. PLEASE ARSENE....rest him...and the remainder of the first team while you're at it, we might get away with a lesser beating that way. As a Newcastle fan it's never easy to pick players against your own team, even if it is obvious we're going to get killed.

  4. My question is with both Ljunberg and Gilberto out , who will play in midfield?
Will it be Baptista or Walcott?
Or worse, will it be Song?????

  6. Lots of teams have double games next week. Blackburn seemingly have none, however.

Sure enough, Henry on the bench.
