I apologize in advance for posting a message that isn't directly related to Fantasy Football but those of you who have come over from the old blog understand that we diverge from time-to-time and for those of you who have joined us since we made the jump to Yahoo, I hope you will forgive the tangent but I think it is an important one.
Earlier today a friend of mine sent out a message to a number of his friends recounting some of the issues he and his family have been going through as his mother is losing her struggle with breast cancer. Sadly, this story is not uncommon. What IS uncommon and what led me to relate this to those of you who faithfully read the blog is that my friend is using this situation to do something positive.
Sean, my friend, has teamed up with Watford central defender Jay DeMerit (you knew there would be a football connection here somewhere) - who has a similar story of losing someone close to him to cancer - to help raise money for cancer research.
I figured the least I could do to help support their cause is give it a little publicity. As an incentive, Jay has created some prizes for those who donate the most. If you are interested in learning more about the specific charity and Jay's story (including his musical aspirations) you can click here.
Sorry for the interruption, back to the fun and games...

Bravo! I love fantasy premiership but understand there is a lot of more serious shtuff happening in our world. A lot of bad stuff affecting a lot of good people. Please don't apologize for bringing that back into focus. My best thoughts go out to your friend and his family, Jay DeMerit's family, and everyone else in the world tonight who don't have the luxury to waste 2 hours on the internet trying to figure out how their going to replace Tim Cahill in their starting 11. Take care.
