Lots to watch today as we anticipate next weekend's matches. With all the changes at the back at Spurs, that will be the obvious focus of Barn Door attention. It doesn't appear that Yahoo have added either new defender - Gilberto or Hutton - yet but assuming they are available at some point, they should be front of mind. This is especially true of Gilberto who sounds like he's the second coming of Gareth Bale (left back/left midfielder combo). At the very least, new signing Jonathan Woodgate should get a look since he is relatively cheap.
Sunderland players, who will likely see their values drop away to Liverpool, could look to rebound next weekend home to Wigan. Defenders Bardsley and Evans, Andy Reid, Craig Gordon, and Kenwyne Jones should all enter into contention for your squad if they're inexpensive options.
Another team to continue to watch is Boro - the third leg of their string of winable matches comes next weekend as they host a Fulham squad that is integrating a lot of new pieces and hasn't traveled well thus far (heck, they haven't won anything in months so I guess travel doesn't have much to do with it). New Boro signing Alves joins Schwarzer, Downing, and Huth on the watch list.
As an aside, I will be watching Fulham as well. Not so much because I'm impressed by their acquisitions but because there are so many of them that are new to me (plus they have a bunch of guys coming back from injury). Worth seeing if there's anyone who will pick up points on a regular basis despite being in a relegation fight on a bad team.
The team whose players I'll be taking a careful look at are Everton's - with Reading heading north for a visit, you have to like their chances. With injuries and continued absences due to the ACN, make a note of checking out Everton's preferred XI this weekend and act accordingly.
WOW - K2 is just on fire (I'm watching the beginning of Citeh v Arsenal) but what a terrible giveaway in midfield by Citeh - they did Hart and the defence no favors there. Nice work by Sagna to get to the touchline first and draw the ball back to the top of the six yard box for Adebayor to convert.
OK, I'll let you get to your weekend of watching the matches and if you're so inclined, top it off with the Super Bowl.

Posted by: gentrykirby on Sat Feb 02 01:43PM | Report abuseAdd Arca to the Boro watchlist. Ditto Fernandes/Everton. Ditto Prica/ Sunderland. Defoe is also dirt cheap. C-Cole/Hammers have two relatively east games coming up (BRM @ home, Fulham away)
