Torres Back In Training

Thu Feb 14 08:25PM by Jeremy

Fernando Torres has handed Liverpool an injury boost by returning to training.

The club's top scorer missed last weekend's 0-0 draw at Chelsea after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Spain.

But Reds boss Rafa Benitez has now declared Torres fit to face Inter Milan in the Champions League next week - and he is even considering using him in this weekend's FA Cup fifth-round clash with Barnsley at Anfield.

Benitez told the club's official website: "For Inter, Torres will be OK. We will have to check before Barnsley."

Benitez has also been boosted by the return to fitness of defensive trio Sami Hyypia, Alvaro Arbeloa and Fabio Aurelio...

"Torres also did the warm-up (before training), as well as Fabio Aurelio and Alvaro Arbeloa, and they are really close.

"Now it is about whether we will take the risk or not."

Something to keep in mind ahead of their home match against Boro.  And while they do have a two-game week, home to both Reading and West Ham, that's not for a while.  So best not to get too excited by the prospects yet.

Jeremy, I believe that Liverpool's 2-game week is coming up very soon - Week 25 - with matches against Bolton (away) and West Ham (home).

Hyypia, Arbeloa and Aurelio are back. Are you still confident in keeping Skrtel on your team?

Bacary Sagna is not injured but is out of the weekend FA Cup tie against Manchester United for personal reasons. "Bacary Sagna has a personal family problem," confirmed Wenger. "He is not available tomorrow and maybe he is not available on Wednesday. He has a big family problem."

Scousers lost to Barnsley because of Torres's absence?Would Sagna even make a difference to their 4-0 thrashing by Man Utd?
