Kapo ruled out for a month

Tue Feb 26 07:24PM by Jeremy

Birmingham City midfielder Olivier Kapo has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury.

Kapo was replaced by Mauro Zarate after an hour of the 2-2 draw with Arsenal at St Andrews at the weekend, a game in which Birmingham were down to ten men after just three minutes following Martin Taylor's red card.

The Frenchman is set to miss his team's next three matches, at home to Tottenham and Newcastle and away to Reading.

 ---

BRM will also being missing (or possibly missing) their first choice center backs as Taylor will be suspended and Ridgewell is a doubt with an ankle injury.  If it weren't for the two-gamers, it would be a good week to look at Spurs.  Maybe they can do what rivals Arsenal couldn't this season and take all three points off the Blues.

Parnaby is less than 4, and got some points last week. Worth a look, if you need a cheap defender. You probably won't get a clean sheet, but you may get a point, or two.

Anyone think Finnan will play both games next week?

what LIV defender to pick? Carragher?Finnan?Hyppia? Geez! they don't have alot of 'upside' and they might rest with Srktel and Arbeloa all in the mix. Riise too. I might avoid this mess all together and go with someone else.

    (3) I like Anton Ferdinand as a possible defender over the uncertainty you point out. Maybe go w/Lucas, who will not start both games, but should play in both... and go w/a WHam defender... With Gerrard... CCole... I am avoiding Reina, even though he is cheap.

    (5) Totally agree. Though everyone is banking on reina to produce some magic, i doubt he would. Any suggestions for keepers? Gordon?

finnan and carragher look most likely to play both matches.......aurelio and riise will be rotated....arbeloa,hyppia and skrtel.....no clue whose in the fore front...maybe hyppia... go for west ham defenders....treat a clean sheet as a huge bonus....they generally do well otherwise.. carraghers avg. is a dismal 2 if u take out the points he has won frm clean sheets which is not a sure shot for liverpool now a days....

torres will reign as king again this week....followed closely by gerrard. ronaldo i hope would be rested as (i'm a chelsea supporter) i want ManU to try and win a match with a genious not on the field...which they struggle to do every time he doesn't play....thats pretty obvious..he scored 21 goals for them....thats 8 more goals than what the whole team of derby county has scored this season.
