Barton Barred From Liverpool

Manchester City's Joey Barton

Newcastle have had their appeal to allow Joey Barton to play against Liverpool this weekend turned down by the courts.

Barton is not allowed on Merseyside as part of the bail conditions ahead of his trial for assault and affray after an incident in Liverpool city centre in December.

The club have appealed for Barton to be able to face Liverpool on Saturday and then Everton on the final day of the season but they have been denied.

    Anyone want too take a guess on Chelsea starting line up for the derby game as i currently have - N. Anelka D. Drogba S. Wright-Phillips F. Lampard M. Ballack J. Mikel Joe Cole R. Carvalho A. Mokoena J. Terry C. Cudicini cant see anelka & drogba playing in the same game !

    Jeremy/Neal: what do you make of Kuyt's stats from the mid-week game against West Ham? ESPN says 2 assists, but Yahoo only credited 1. I saw both goals and definitely think he deserves 2!!! Not that I have him in my team or anything... ;-)
