A shock of sorts, but not surprising if you know how the Ivorians constantly fail in the tournaments!- 90+3 Free-kick Ivory Coast on the right, Yaya Toure to take! Aimed at Gradel, headed clear but back with Tiote who crosses but Drogba heads well over!
- 90+2 The free-kick is taken short, the ball taken to the corner, a throw for Nigeria and Emenike goes down feigning injury.
- 90+1 Nigeria take it into the corners, and win a free-kick. Smart play as Emenike drew a foul off Gradel.
- 90' Four minutes added time being played. Four minutes for Ivory Coast to salvage extra time.

He's not done much of note in these past few matches, a surprise selection, but a fine turn of pace buys some space and his shot flies up in the air off Bamba and flies in!- 76' Sabri Lamouchi looks on with a quizzical face. - 75' Gradel is getting a lot more joy than Kalou, he's a very direct winger and wins a corner. He puts in another far-post cross after a short routine but over the head of Toure.

- 73' Corner to Ivory Coast now as a Gradel cross hits Ambrose. Taken quickly but Enyeama grabs the cross and Nigeria counter. Emenike with a fine ball to Moses, but the flag is up - well offside.
- 72' Moses has been excellent with the dead ball so far but he overhits that corner out for a throw.
- 71' Moses on the move now, he finds Echiejele, whose shot-cross is blocked for a corner.

- 69' IVORY COAST SUB: The disappointing Kalou is replaced by Gradel, who like him spent a long time in England before moving to France, although admittedly in the Championship and League One with Leicester, Bournemouth and Leeds.

- 65' Moses with an excellent delivery from the corner, Brown flying in at the far post, his header is into the ground and a scramble ensues with Barry clinging on to it! A fine save initially, and he has a free-kick. Bamba all over the place.
- 64' Brown shoots from range after trading passes with Moses, and Nigeria have a corner.
- 63' Nigeria on the move now as Brown plays it wide right to Moses. He takes on Tiene but overhits the cross.
- 62' A somewhat dreary spell now as neither side appears prepared to take the risks that could see a second conceded. Cagey is the word.
- 61' The corner is punched clear by Enyeama and Nigeria break. Emenike on the left finds Moses, who slows it down again. This was fine when they were leading, then Mikel sends a long ball over Ideye out for a goal kick.
- 60' Kalou sends Drogba in down the left but, as he searches an unmarked Gervinho, Ambrose blocks his cross. Corner.
- 59' Drogba takes a high one on the chest in typical fashion, but he runs it out under pressue from Oboabona.
- 58' Now Ivory Coast are hogging the ball. Nigeria need a change in my view.
- 57' Good pressure from Nigeria but look who's back defending on the edge of his own box - Drogba, who tackles Onazi and clears.
- 56' ... And as Moses's ball comes in the ref blows for the pushing.

46' The second half is underway, with Kalou and Drogba playing a one-two as Ivory Coast start promisingly.- 45+1 Half-time and Nigeria deservedly lead 1-0 through that Emenike free-kick.
- 45' Romaric to take - and he curls the free-kick over the wall but it doesn't dip in time.
- 44' Eboue is tugged to the floor by Mikel so Ivory Coast have a free-kick on their right.
- 43' That was a stunning strike, the movement on the ball deceiving Barry. but it went straight through him though. Goalkeeping error, forced by the pace on the ball.
- 42' GOAL NIGERIA! Onazi touches the free-kick to Emenike, who blasts a ferocious strike past Barry! What a strike!!!

- 40' Drogba to take then - but it hits the wall and, as Enyeama dithers over claiming it, he is given a free-kick for a foul by Toure. Soft.

- 38' My mistake - the ref DID see that and he books Toure. It was just somewhat belated.
37' Worrying for Naija - Moses is down hurt. Toure with a sneaky arm out to prevent him running outside for the one-two, the ref missed it. Obviously.- 36' Now they switch to attack but, after a promising move sees Toure slip it wide, Tiene overhits his cross from the left wing.

- 34' Drogba is penalised for a handball as he turns in the box to fire in a shot, which Enyeama tipped wide anyway. Poor reffing as he took that on his chest, as clear as day.
33' Mikel quickly and cleverly takes a free-kick down the left but Moses is incorrectly flagged offside. These linesmen have been woeful at the Afcon.- 32' Gervinho cuts in from the right and is tripped by Brown, who is operating as a defensive winger at the moment. Free-kick Ivory Coast, Drogba and Toure again discuss who will take it. No, Zokora replaces Drogba now... But Toure takes, cleared by Nigeria.
- 31' Zokora heads away Emenike's cross despite Barry leaping for it. Assume there was no call. Throw on the Nigeria right.
- 30' Toure to swing this free-kick from the left wing... Good ball in but nodded away. Gervinho keeps the ball in before finding Tiote, but his cross is deflected into the arms of Enyeama.
- 29' Kalou had swapped flanks with Gervinho to try and find some more space but all he's got was a whack round the ankles. On pitch treatment but I reckon he'll play on.
- 28' First booking goes to Onazi after he fouls Kalou on the Ivoria left. Clumsy, late and the Lille winger is hurt...
- 27' BAD MISS EMENIKE! Should have scored, Brown raced clear through the middle after Ivory Coast gave it away - Bamba and Zokora were backtracking and he slipped Emenike through on the right but he panicked and blasted it yards over. Had to score, just the keeper to beat and he was out of position.
- 26' Emenike just avoids straying offside but the pass from Mikel is too heavy. Goal kick Ivory Coast.
- 25' Drogba tries a shot and almost takes his pal Toure's head off. Toure questions the point of such an effort when he was directly in Drog's path. Tiote with yet another trip on Emenike. He'll surely be booked soon.
- 24' Corner Ivory Coast then but headed clear at the near post by Echiejele. Good intervention as Drogba was lurking.
- 23' Long-range effort from Tiote, which apparently took a deflection as it flew well over. Corner.
- 22' Moses with a training ground routine as he rolls it down the right but Emenike is sleeping and wasn't ready for it on the turn. He applauds the sentiment though.
- 21' Tiote fouls Emenike around 35 yards out. Moses and Mikel over it, with Brown and Oboabona the targets...
- 20' Nigeria play it around the back for a spell. Ivory Coast with a worrying lack of possession so far.
- 19' Oboabona fouls Kalou on the Ivorian right, but the ref decides it was a fair challenge. Seemed to block him off there!
- 18' Bit of a scrappy phase after what has been an entertaining opening to this match, fairly high quality too. Shame the stadium is 2/3 empty.
- 17' The replay shows that had someone risen properly in the six-yard box, Nigeria could have scored there. Brown as it was leapt the highest, but he was too deep.
- 16' Free-kick to Nigeria on the right, which Moses swings in but it's over everyone and out for a goal kick, despite the best efforts of Brown.
- 15' So a quarter-of-an-hour is played and Nigeria certainly shading it so far!
- 14' Moses pops up on the left, beating Eboue then brilliantly backheeling Emenike in, but Bamba closes him down and the Nigeria striker just bounces off the big man's frame. Lovely backheel from Moses though!
- 13' Romaric's corner is met by a Bamba bicycle kick, but they're not his speciality and he blasts it well over. Nice try though!
- 12' Kalou with a nice turn away from Echiejele, finding Drogba who is challenged by Oboabona, who concedes a corner.
- 11' All Nigeria at the moment as Emenike tries to get a shot away, closed down by Tiote.
- 10' Now Echiejele with a long-range effort but it's going well wide as Barry watches it pass.
- 9' Nigeria have been ranked as outsiders for this tie but with Moses in there you can never discount them - he fires a rasping long-range drive that Barry bats away!
- 8' Moses will take this free-kick, great ball into the six-yard box and Brown flies in but heads over!
- 7' Foul on Emenike on the Nigeria right, Tiote - who is wearing no.9 confusingly - with the clumsy shove.
- 6' Flag is up on Drogba after Romaric swings a lofted pass through - he was level too, poor decision!
- 5' The linesman signalled a goal-kick in the end, must have taken a touch off an Ivorian en route. Bamba is fouled while winning a header.
- 4' Looks like Drogba is going to shoot, it's a few yards to the right of the edge of the D... Nope, lefty Tiene took it with a surprise effort, little run up, off the wall and a corner.
- 3' A delay in taking this as Ivory Coast have a mothers meeting while Nigeria play games over the wall.
- 2' Drogba wins a free-kick off Echiejele, the Galatasaray striker backing into the defender and quite lucky to have got the decision.

There are only two changes today, which is conservative by Keshi's standards, as Brown Ideye comes back in for Ike Uche, whole Ogenyi Onazi replaces Fegor Ogude in midfield. Sunday MBa continues, despite failing to impress against Ethiopia. Victor Moses has been a revelation for Nigeria - as if we didn't already know how good he was - and he seems to be the main man now.

Indeed, the only players to remain are Didier Drogba, Romaric and Salomon Kalou, all of whom had been rested for at least one of the previous group matches. Talk about using your squad! that was a brilliant performer from the eagles, u never can tell, eboue or what u call u name, where u now making that silly statement on air,
I know their is still match to play but for beating Ivory cost,i am the most happiest man today and after all stupid Eboue`s comment, he could not fly with the Eagles.lol
Nationalism sentiments apart, the Nigerian team is virtually a rebuilding team with little experiences in international arena. I have an inkling that, they are the team of destiny and they are going all the way. Against all odds, and the Doubting Thomases, it's their best performance in this competition so far. The Ivorians were outplayed and beaten hands down. Kudos to the boys.

Nigeria must not like the Ivorians start strutting & swaggering as if the cup is theirs for the takings. No matter what the placings on the paper is, the Eagles not be over laden with undue celebrations that will eclipse the work ahead. Would anybody disagree with me if I point out the biased commentaries of this game in favor of the Ivorian team? I mean it's clear that one would wonder if it was an Ivorian running the commentary. This's a game, and as far as I'm concerned, commentators should be as unbiased as the referee himself!
