    • 116' Tainio booked for time-wasting and Drogba does not like that a bit... Ballack pushes his team-mate away to allow him to take the throw...
    • 115' Lennon chasing for nothing in attack as he is penalised for a high tackle.
    • 114' Kalou receives the ball into feet and spins to shoot - Robbo saves with his legs!!! Excellent stop by the 'keeper.
    • 112' Drogba pounds forward with the ball, his shot again blocked by a man in a white shirt. The ball flung back into the area, where Woodgate has his arms around the Ivorian striker... he goes down! The ref lifts his arm - the flag is up for offside. Oh, the drama.
    • 110' Lampard turns away from his marker and looks for Mikel down the channel... the flag is up. Tottenham breathe again.
    • 109' Jenas blocks Bridge's cross from the left. The England full-back hurls it into the box, knocked away... all Chelsea.
    • 106' Robinson punches at a free-kick under pressure, giving away a corner... when it arrives with Cole on the far side, his shot is wayward.
    • 106' Chelsea kick off the second period of extra-time to our right.
    • - Halsey tries to get them turned around immediately, but the backroom staff of both teams ignore that and treat their players...
    • 105' After three minutes of time added on the whistle finally sounds. Where did Halsey get that from?

    • 102' Tottenham substitution: Keane replaced by Younes Kaboul.
    • 102' Apologies for the dozens of you who emailed - there just is not time to put them up. Suffice to say that you are enjoying the match!
    • 101' Lampard's corner is right into the danger area and Drogba rises, but cannot get his noggin on it. Chelsea coming right back at Spurs.
    • 100' Lampard drives a free-kick towards the near-post top corner from down the left side of the box... blocked well by Robinson!
    • 98' Chelsea change: Mikel replaced by Joseph Cole.
    • 96' John Obi Mikel (Chelsea) booked for blocking Jenas deliberately.
    • 94' Cech came to meet the ball from Jenas's cross and Woodgate got there first, getting enough on it to send it over the line!!
    • 94' AND TOTTENHAM HAVE THAT GOAL THROUGH WOODGATE!!!
    • - Koranteng: "I think Tottenham are playing very good football with Chelsea and they will win 2-1. But they have to be really careful with their defence because Ballack is a little bit good going forward."
    • 91' The first-half of extra-time kicks off... Spurs kicking to our right.
    • - Darren: "It's frustrating as a Spurs fan to get all these chances and not convert them... this will most likely go to penalties... argghh!!"
    • - Ash: "It would be great to see Tottenham win, but Chelsea are just too good when it comes to scoring in extra-time."
    • - Claire Gowler: "Chelsea are going to win and Ballack is going to score before the end."
    • - Email your views to ukfeedback@eurosport.com quickly before the match restarts...
    • 90+3' The whistle sounds to end the match, so we will have extra-time... and dare I say it potentially penalty kicks...
    • 90+3' It is flicked on by Jonathan Woodgate to the far post, where Keane throws himself into an overhead kick - well over the bar.
    • 90+2' Hooked away by Belletti. Ballack gives away a throw-in though in the final third... Huddlestone to chuck it in...
    • 90+2' Late free-kick for Tottenham... Jenas to curl it in...
    • 90' There minutes of injury-time to play.
    • 89' Tottenham defend the corner with Ballack and Terry threatening... another ball in from Ballack... Spurs keep them at bay.
    • 89' He wins the ball immediately and shoots, blocked but good enough for a corner kick...
    • 88' Chelsea change: Essien replaced by Michael Ballack.
    • 86' Drogba reaching for a clipped pass over the top, but it is just too far ahead of him.
    • 84' Berbatov turns and shoots... beaten out by Cech!!! Spurs dominating!
    • 83' Lennon with a reverse pass for Keane to cross... when it is headed out Berbatov smacks a volley that is blocked and Chelsea survive again...
    • 81' Holy cow - Keane played him through as Bridge foolishly raced out to try and catch him offside. The midfielder had all the time in the world but seemed to falter and Cech made the block... he then banged his shot wide with defenders on the line from 10 yards out. Heartbreaking for Spurs.
    • 81' ZOKORA WASTES A ONE-ON-ONE... CECH ON THE FLOOR... HE STRIKES WIDE OF THE NEAR POST!!!
    • 80' Huddlestone penalised for a foul in the corner. Chelsea finally break out...
    • 77' Tottenham well on top now, Lennon turning on his jet-heels at will... Chelsea required to do the same job on them as the first half, stunting their attacks and winning chances of their own.
    • 75' Spurs change: Teemu Tainio for Malbranque.
    • 73' Drogba surges into the area, only for King to scramble across and block his shot!!! Great defending as Chelsea looked set to score a second.
    • 72' Chelsea sub: Salomon Kalou for Wright-Phillips.
    • 71' Lennon cutting in from the left to instigate another attack... Spurs have that essential goal and are right back in the match. The Berb watched Cech move to his left and simply stroked the ball into the other corner.
    • 70' BERBATOV COOLLY SLOTS IT INTO THE BOTTOM CORNER!!!
    • 69' PENALTY FOR TOTTENHAM!!! Lennon skipped into the box and crossed to the far side for Huddlestone... he battled with Bridge for the ball and the left-back, in the side in place of Ashley Cole - who is not even on the bench - handled. The linesman flagged for the pen.
    • 68' Chelsea with a clever free-kick that doesn't quite come off.
    • 65' Chimbonda is not a happy bunny - but his team-mates have to display more companionship than that if they are to dig themslves out of this situation. Chelsea are leading - no shame in that for Spurs - but now controlling the flow of the game.
    • 64' Keane with a lax backpass that Wright-Phillips almost nicks away from Robinson... close shave for Spurs.
    • 63' Chimbonda is annoyed by the decision and goes straight down the tunnel, pushing away a member of the Spurs backroom staff.
    • 62' Tottenham change: Tom Huddlestone for Chimbonda.
    • 60' Tottenham fail to create a chance from a corner won by Chimbonda on the right... right-back Alan Hutton has not been involved in an attacking capacity for Spurs as yet...
    • 59' A fantastic challenge by Lampard on Jenas and the ball flies out to Drogba on the left... Wright-Phillips is free on the right and he looks for the little winger, but the ball is too high and he can only head it up in the air... Anelka jumps but his header lacks power.
    • 57' Goal-kick to Chelsea as Terry and Berbatov compete in the corner. Cliche alert: 'The next goal is crucial'.
    • 55' Anelka has nowhere to go with the ball and gestures at his team-mates to move into space...
    • 54' Belletti on the right, winning a throw... Chelsea keep the ball in their opponents' half.
    • 52' Zokora loses patience during a promising Spurs move and drills a shot high and wide.
    • 52' Drogba still off the field as his team pass the ball about. Tension settles upon Wembley as the light fades.
    • - Further messages of support for both sides, but we must look at the match now... Drogba is hurt and limps about gingerly.
    • 50' All sorts of challenges flying in, what we like to see. As long as they are fair, you understand - before we get emails relating to Eduardo's awful injury.
    • 48' Lennon fouls Drogba, allowing the Blues to calm things down.
    • 47' Grant and Ramos patrolling the touchline after their first cup final half-time duties at their respective clubs. One of them will be a happy man come ten-to five.
    • - Meks: "Chelsea is a great club with big players. They all know the importance of this game. We play tactical and experienced football. I believe we are going to score another goal in the next 20 mins. We are the best team in the world. GO CHELSEA!"
    • 46' The players re-emerge. Chelsea now kicking to our right in this second half.
    • - Carmen Cheng, keeping it short but sweet: "Tottenham to win!"
    • - Felipe Oliveira: "I think the goal was a mistake by Robinson."
    • - Justus Samspon: "Wow, this is a great match! I am happy with the way Chelsea played the first half - and I hope they improve in the second half."
    • - Alex Roxon: "Totenham have been punished for not taking advantage of Chelsea's poor start. Juande Ramos can pull it back though - he's great in cup finals."
    • - Send us your views on the second half to ukfeedback@eurosport.com.
    • 45+2' Keane is furious that a free-kick is not given for a push on him right on the edge of the box and shortly after the whistle goes for the half. Chelsea edge it then, despite Tottenham's greater chances.
    • 45+1' Zokora and Lampard have a bit of a slanging match over a forceful tackle upon Berbatov. Referee Mark Halsey calms them down.
    • 45' Lampard gives the ball to opponent Jenas in the Spurs half... he feeds Keane, who looks for the run of Berbatov into the box... he loses his footing but Michael Essien did nothing wrong there and Cech gathers gratefully.
    • 44' Drogba volleys a dipping ball for Wright-Phillips to chase, but Chimbonda is back covering and plays the ball to Robinson.
    • 42' Chelsea look more assured in their play while their fans are obviously buoyant. Juande Ramos has got a half-time team talk to deliver.
    • 40' Tottenham immediately attack the other end, Keane almost hooking a shot to equalise, saved by Cech.
    • 39' Robinson was left standing as Drogba whipped the ball inside the post from a central position 30-odd yards out. That will go down as an error, although the Ivorian striker executed the goal brilliantly.
    • 39' Drogba lines it up, but Lampard is also there... DROGBA!!!!!!!!!!! 1-0 TO CHELSEA!!!
    • 39' Zokora into a tackle on Drogba, who goes down like a dying swan... he trod on his foot and it will be a free-kick. Yellow card to Zokora.
    • 35' Ricardo Carvalho and Jenas clash in the centre of the pitch... Jenas is down for a few moments, but okay to continue.
    • 33' Chimbonda gives another free-kick away a bit closer to goal as he flies into an absurd tackle, seeming to take out Wright-Phillips with his back. 'You should never turn your back'. Drogba will take it... bent round the wall and half-a-foot wide of the upright.
    • 32' Lampard it is to hit one from 30 yards out or more... it deflects off Woodgate's heel and rises well over the bar.
    • 31' Lampard to the feet of Drogba, who lays it off for Anelka... Woodgate fouls the Drog as the Frenchman slips the ball on for him to chase.
    • 29' Lampard picks up the ball on the left and bangs a shot on goal - just over at the near post!!! Robinson was a bit worried by that powerhouse of a strike.
    • 28' Drogba back on as Berbatov sends a high ball for Keane into the area... a shout for handball against the Irishman, but nothing is forthcoming and Malbranque strikes... just wide of the near post!!!
    • 26' Drogba has a knock as Spurs hold firm from the set-piece. He jogs off to get the magic sponge on it.
    • 25' Drogba lurking in the box, knocking it back to Anelka... Chelsea keep possession and eventually earn a corner...
    • 24' The flag is up for offside against someone in a Spurs shirt, probably Berbatov, as Keane ends in a heap on the floor with Mikel.
    • 22' Zokora flies across to administer a brilliant tackle in the middle of the park. The desire is certainly there.
    • 21' Didier Zokora gives the ball straight to Frank Lampard in his own half but recovers well to play it back to Paul Robinson. Frankie Junior looked ready to unleash hell in the form of a shot there...
    • 20' Tottenham have enjoyed a massive 61 percent of the possession so far in the match, and the more dangerous side.
    • 19' Jermaine Jenas floats in a free-kick that Woodgate rises to head over the bar.
    • 17' Anelka looking the wrong way as a ball runs down the channel for him... he could have made something of that if he was more aware.
    • 15' After a tempestuous opening Chelsea gain a foothold and the match settles into some kind of rhythm.
    • 13' Wright-Phillips crosses to the near post, cleared by the 'glass-like' Jonathan Woodgate (see pre-match build-up). We can only assume our correspondent was referring to his injury record, not his defensive capability...
    • 13' Former Barcelona right-back Belletti - he scored the winning Champions League goal against Arsenal in the final in 2006 - intent on making up for his earlier mistake, shooting at goal from 25 yards. The effort is blocked by his own man Drogba.
    • 11' The first passing move by Chelsea comes to nothing as Wright-Phillips's threaded pass is intercepted as Belletti continued his run down the channel.
    • 9' Chelsea clear but as Spurs come back at them Berbatov is free in the middle and heads wide of the far post!! He should have hit the target...
    • 9' It is deep and Chimbonda heads at goal... it loops down and BOUNCES UP OFF THE CROSSBAR!!!
    • 8' Chimbonda down the left, winning a corner... Lennon to whip it in...
    • 7' There is only one team in the match so far: the one from north London town. Still, Avram Grant's outfit is resilient.
    • 5' Dimitar Berbatov looking for a ball through, provided by Steed Malbranque... it is too far ahead of him and runs out for a Chelsea goal-kick. He should ahve done better.
    • 4' Didier Drogba looping a ball through towards Shaun Wright-Phillips on the right, who goes down under a slight push from Pascal Chimbonda... no foul and the Frenchman brings the ball out from left-back.
    • 3' Tottenham on the ball, keeping it well. Aaron Lennon cannot quite get a cross over.
    • 2' The corner is swept in and hooked over the bar by Spurs as their fans roar them on. They are well up for this match, you can tell that in the opening seconds... what was Belletti doing though?
    • 1' Juliano Belletti with a stray pass inside... Robbie Keane pounces onto it and hares towards goal... JUST PAST THE FAR POST!!! Terry dived in front of the striker to get a deflection and it shot just wide!!
    • 1' Chelsea to kick us off then in all blue, attacking the goal to our left. Spurs in all white.
    • 15:55 The national anthem is belted out, as usual with many people heartily singing and others not bothered.
    • 14:50 The players are in the tunnel... King and Terry lead them out to wide acclaim from the stands. Both players returning from knocks.
    • 14:45 No more emails as kick-off approaches... thanks for your feedback. Now strap yourselves in... but then I remember saying something like that for the FA Cup final last year... (hammering wooden desk repeatedly)
    • 14:43 Fate85: "I find it laughable that people are citing Spurs' 5-1 win over Arsenal as a reference. Arsenal clearly put out an understrength team on the day. Look at Chelsea's team today! Tottenham will struggle to match Chelsea in every department. Essien, Lampard and Mikel will prove too much for the duo of Jenas and Zokora. Anelka may not have played alongside Drogba from the start before, but with the Woodgate-King partnership still immature, I do not see that as a weak point at all. Expect a comfortable Chelsea win."
    • 14:42 Meks: "Boy oh boy, Anelka and Drogba... what a combination. I really want to see the two strikers score beautiful goals today. I am a Chelsea fan from birth - and a Chelsea fan I will remain."
    • 14:40 Ryan Doyle: "Chelsea will win with their front two against a Spurs defence made of glass in King and Woodgate. I'll go for Chelsea 3-0 Spurs."
    • 14:40 Isaac Oloyede: "Let no one call you underdogs, Spurs! If you put on your hearts of steel same as you wore on February 2 when you confronted the mighty, virtual invincible Reds in the Premier League, Spurs, dear Spurs, you'll surely beat the Blues real black and blue today. You can. Your history shows you can. Do it. Just one goal ahead is enough. Take home the victory. Let Wembley live on to remember. Good luck, mighty Spurs!" Brilliant.
    • 14:36 Matt O'Brien: "I will be in church when the game starts. I live in the States and love chelsea. I'm pretty confident with the line-up Grant chose, but I wanted to see Joe Cole get a start. Blues to win 2-0 - both goals scored in the second half." Joseph Cole is the other man that stands out on the substitute's bench.
    • 14:34 Michael Ballack will feel a bit hard-done-by after finding some form in recent weeks. Tom Huddlestone too is unlucky not to play. But you can only pick 11 players.
    • 14:33 This is the first League Cup final at the rebuilt Wembley Stadium. The last one was in 2000.
    • 14:30 Only half-an-hour to go now... Wembley is beginning to fill up - apparently there are 31,000 fans from each club. Which leaves nearly 20,000 neutrals.
    • 14:26 Nnamdi Moronu: "Tottenham did a nice one over Arsenal - I want to see them do the same to Chelsea too! I think they have the squad and talent in the team to pull this one off. It won’t be easy, but I see a 2–1 victory for Tottenham."
    • 14:24 Noel Dube: "This is Noel, a Chelsea fan based in Canada in the cold. I'm very excited and wish my team all the best in this big game. And you guys are the best in football commentry, I rely on you when I'm on the job. Thanks a million times for a job well done." Sounds like someone should be working, Noel...
    • 14:23 Daniel Ochei: "This is going to be a great game, and the begining of Avram Grant's trophy haul. I'll put my money on Chelsea."
    • 14:22 Chris Davies: "Am I the only one who can't see anything but a Spurs win today? Spurs want it more than anything - expect another display like against Arsenal. Spurs to win 2-1."
    • 14:16 Spurs team: Robinson; Hutton, Woodgate, King, Chimbonda; Lennon, Jenas, Zokora, Malbranque; Berbatov, Keane
    • 14:15 Chelsea team: Cech; Belletti, Terry, Carvalho, Bridge; Wright-Phillips, Essien, Lampard, Mikel; Anelka, Drogba
    • 14:13 Adrian Nandapi: "I haven't got access to a TV but am watching via your coverage - and it's great. Spurs to win on current form. Chelsea haven't been convincing of late however Spurs have done themselves proud with the brilliant semi-final win over the Gunners and also unlucky to go down in the FA Cup and Old Trafford. And their league form has been consistent to date. Berba's on fire and with Keane and Huddlestone, I think Spurs will win with these 3 stars firing on all cylinders. C'mon you Spurs, C'mon you Spurs"
    • 14:03 Confirmed now that Terry and Lampard will start for Chelsea, while King and Keane both make the 11 for Spurs. Paul Robinson starts in goal fo them.
    • 14:02 Ben Race: "We all believe Juande's words, we can do it! It comes down to the 90 mins on the pitch and we have some outstanding players just like them, with Keano and Berba up front there won't be any shyness in front of goal and our defence is looking strong (er) with Hutton, O' Hara, Woodgate and Kaboul. So all I can say is come on you Spurs, we have belief we can do this!!"
    • 13:59 Justus Samspon: "Chelsea will win today's match, but I respect Juan Ramos: he is a very good coach. I think Chelsea will win 3-1."
    • 13:58 Shikhar Baid: "It will be a tough match for Chelsea, but I think Chelsea will win it eventually. Lampard and Terry should play. I'm hoping for a rocking match, an electrifying atmosphere and a Chelsea win!!"
    • 13:55 By the way - the young side he built at Sevilla, now led by former 'B' coach Manolo Jimenez, were sublime in thrashing 5-0 Zaragoza last night. Click on our Liga section to read the report.
    • 13:53 Fans of Spurs must be salivating like dogs at the prospect of a tin pot heading to the Lane, given Juande Ramos's record with Sevilla. He took two consecutive UEFA Cups and the Copa del Rey last season to the Sanchez Pizjuan.
    • 13:50 Harbouring thoughts on this afternoon's big game? Email us at ukfeedback@eurosport.com and we'll stick 'em up.
    • 13:38 The word on the street is that both Lampard and Terry will start for Chelsea this afternoon; there's going to be some upset players in the dressing room if that is the case...
    • 13:28 Avram Grant's father will be at the game; he was 80-years-old last week. "He is a great man, one of the greatest that I know. He is optimistic like I have never seen in my life and he suffered a lot in the age when he was young. Even now, he is optimistic. If you speak to him about the past, he says it was in the past but I live the future. He's only 80 years old. I wish him all the best. I love him. My father would accept everything in a positive way. Everything that happened in my life, I can only thank them for it."
    • 13:20 Chelsea are attempting to become the first club to retain the League Cup since Nottingham Forest in 1990. Of course, this could be the first leg of a quadruple, too...
    • 13:12 Lord Mawhinney has been on television this lunchtime, telling us that there have been more fans watching this year's Carling Cup competition than in any season in the last 30 years. Doesn't that just make you feel warm inside?
    • 13:06 The Chelsea team are on their way, too...John Terry emerged from the hotel with his boot-bag in his hand and a very determined look on his face - does that tell a story?
    • 13:05 The team coaches are on their way to the ground, we're told... Spurs' team bus is a gun-metal-grey affair, decorated with some gold stars; delightful.
    • 12:59 Juande Ramos revealed yesterday what his final words will be to the Spurs side before sending them out in two hours' time: "I will tell the lads to go out and enjoy the game, enjoy the atmosphere and the occasion. Most importantly is to go out and win the game. And then we will hope we return again soon."
    • 12:51 "Frank has made the comments that he wants to stay. We've both decided we'll put it behind us until the end of the season. He's still got a year left on his contract. He is a great player by anybody's standards and of course we would like him to see his career out with us. Again Didier has come out and said that he was misquoted and we're not going to talk about that. Didier has got two years left on his contract and there is no reason why he shouldn't remain a Chelsea player."
    • 12:49 Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has been on the radio this morning talking about wanting to make sure Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba stay at the club next season...
    • 12:45 Still no official team-news emerging; it looks as though both managers will leave it until the last possible moment before naming their sides.
    • 12:34 In fact, if someone other than Manchester United and Chelsea get to the FA Cup final, they will earn a UEFA Cup spot too - taking another European place away from the league. Which means that potentially, only fifth place in the Premier League could earn a UEFA Cup spot next season.
    • 12:32 Interested? Well, if Spurs win, then they will go into the UEFA Cup next season, taking one of the places that would otherwise have gone to the team finishing sixth. So fans of Manchester City, Blackburn, Aston Villa, Everton and Portsmouth will all be willing Chelsea on.
    • 12:31 There are more than fans of just Spurs and Chelsea interested in the outcome of this afternoon's match; it has implications all through the Premier League...
    • 12:23 Plenty of fans already milling around Wembley, soaking up the atmosphere on Wembley way. Most of them have not had very far to come, of course - this is a London derby of enormous significance...
    • 12:00 Didier Drogba has scored in Chelsea's last three cup finals, and the Ivory Coast forward thinks he's just the man for the occasion: "I want to score in the final again. I have scored in all the finals Chelsea have played so far. I am a big game player."
    • 11:55 Spurs are in confident mood coming into this game, and assistant coach Gus Poyet has been impressed by the recent turnaround in the team's fortunes. "When we came here it was all about how little confidence the team had", he said. "Every single game - it was difficult. Now it's possibly the opposite and we are full of confidence. Anything is possible."
    • 11:49 It's a mild, dry day in London - and the pitch at Wembley looks in immaculate condition. It has come in for some criticism recently, but looks superb today.
    • 11:45 One man sure to be keeping a close eye on proceedings is England coach Fabio Capello. He'll be keen to see how Paul Robinson handles the pressure if Ramos hands him a starting berth, while Ashley Cole finds himself in competition with Wayne Bridge for both club and country. It's also a big chance for fringe players like Aaron Lennon, Tom Huddlestone and Jonathan Woodgate to impress.
    • 11:20 Of course, we'll bring you all the team news as soon as it reaches us...
    • 11:19 Meanwhile, Frank Lampard is expected to start for Chelsea, although defender John Terry could find himself on the bench as coach Avram Grant keeps faith with Alex at centre-back.
    • 11:18 Spurs boss Juande Ramos will make late checks on Pascal Chimbonda and Ledley King but the club are hopeful both defenders will be fit. King has not played since the 5-1 thrashing of Arsenal in the semi-final as he comes back gradually from knee surgery in the summer.
    • 11:05 Hi there; welcome to our coverage as Chelsea and Tottenham do battle for the first trophy of the English season...the Carling Cup.

    • 73' Drogba surges into the area, only for King to scramble across and block his shot!!! Great defending as Chelsea looked set to score a second.
    • 59' A fantastic challenge by Lampard on Jenas and the ball flies out to Drogba on the left... Wright-Phillips is free on the right and he looks for the little winger, but the ball is too high and he can only head it up in the air... Anelka jumps but his header lacks power.
    • 45' Lampard gives the ball to opponent Jenas in the Spurs half... he feeds Keane, who looks for the run of Berbatov into the box... he loses his footing but Michael Essien did nothing wrong there and Cech gathers gratefully.
    • 33' Chimbonda gives another free-kick away a bit closer to goal as he flies into an absurd tackle, seeming to take out Wright-Phillips with his back. 'You should never turn your back'. Drogba will take it... bent round the wall and half-a-foot wide of the upright.
    • 1' Juliano Belletti with a stray pass inside... Robbie Keane pounces onto it and hares towards goal... JUST PAST THE FAR POST!!! Terry dived in front of the striker to get a deflection and it shot just wide!!
