- 45+1' Lennon delivers another low cross that Ferdinand clears for a corner - the United captain is furious with his team-mates.
- 45' Tevez does really well to keep hold of the ball and finds Gibson, who appears to be fouled but referee Foy says play on. Great pressure from Tottenham.
- 44' Fabio Capello is in the crowd, wearing the same expression he always does. How do we know it isn't just a Capello waxwork dummy?
- 42' Ronaldo slips a ball down the right channel for O'Shea who pulls back to TEVEZ! His shot is blocked.
- 40' United leave Lennon in acres of space on the Spurs right. This time he cannot create anything but he had plenty of grass to run into.
- 39' Nani curls a weak shot straight at Gomes - even the Brazilian looks comfortable fielding that one.

- 36' Zokora is forced to clear behind for a corner with Welbeck bearing down on him. It comes to nothing.
- 35' Disappointing delivery from Modric, straight at a defender. Pavlyuchenko then follows it up by failing to get a header on target.

- 26' Ridiculous showboating from Ronaldo, Nani and Welbeck, who attempts one party piece but forgets to take the ball with him. Steady on, chaps - it is still goalless after all.
- 25' Aaron Lennon skins Patrice Evra down the right and crosses... over Bent's head, but good play from the winger nonetheless.
- 24' RIO FERDINAND!!! He controls a clearance on his knee and unleashes a dipping 35-yard volley that drops inches over the bar! What an effort.
- 22' Ronaldo sprints down the right to win a 50-50 ball and pulls back for Tevez... cleared for a corner.
- 20' Dawson crocks Tevez by sliding in from behind... Scholes takes it short and United look to build the pressure once again.
- 19' Foul by Evra, and Lodric will deliver the free-kick into the box... Evans clears to Ronaldo and here come United again. Good tempo to this game.
- 18' Chance for Tottenham! Lennon runs inside from the right to receive a ball into the box and pulls it back towards Pavlyuchenko, but Ferdinand clears.
- 17' The ball pings around the Tottenham box and it takes some desperate defending to stop anyone getting a shot away. Harry Redknapp's men are right under the cosh.
- 15' NANI!! Cuts inside Lennon and fires low towards the near post, Gomes tips it wide!
- 14' Ronaldo cuts inside from the left and crosses low.. cut out. Strong start from the Portuguese.
- 13' GIBSON!!! He is not closed down and fires off a powerful shot from 25 yards... JUST WIDE! Great strike, unlucky.
- 11' Another Scholes pass that is too good for its recipient - a raking 50-yarder that rebounds off a seemingly startled Nani.

- - This competition is derided by many, but there is an electric atmosphere inside a full Wembley Stadium. Further evidence that those who prioritise finishing 12th in the league ahead of trophies are fools.
- - Injury news: Jonathan Woodgate has an achilles injury, while a virus has sidelined Wayne Rooney. Both men would have started.
- - Tottenham go for an attacking 4-4-2 formation with Darren Bent and Roman Pavlyuchenko up front. The scorer of last year's winner, Jonathan Woodgate, is not involved.
- - The first major piece of silverware of the season is at stake but Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has kept his promise to stick with the players that featured in the earlier rounds. Danny Welbeck, Darron Gibson and Ben Foster all start - mind you, so do Cristiano Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes.

I've never in my life been so annoyed over a football match, I saw that happening re the IPOD crisis, no wonder the worlds in melt-down, with rich people rippin us off & cheating poor clubs like spurs out of carling black label, & giving them russian vodka instead, & that idiot who wont return his money to jack frost..
