Forget this result now, Blackpool, Wigan are still­ better, simply because they are in the Premier League.­ Yes, it could be different in a few years, but if that­ day comes for Blackpool they will need to have a­ stadium with 20,000 in it, week in week out. With the­ tradition and continuity that Blackpool has enjoyed for­ over 100 years it is a crying shame that the lottery of­ 'money provision' has imposed its own structure­ on the local supporter's game. Mind you, it could­ have been alot worse.
Perhaps the 'Matthews'­ days were a false representation of who deserves the­ best spectacle every other Saturday. I'm just­ pleased to have experienced those days.

One problem at Wigan Dave Whelan time he left. He did­ great tuff in the aerly days helped Wigan out. But­ since we got in the Prem all he has done is coin it­ back in sold great players for minimal fees and bought­ @#$%. Good bye Dave time to leave

Well that's that then! It is earlier in the season­ than I would have liked, for the other Championship­ teams to realise that Blackpool FC are no pushover. The­ 'secret weapon' factor is rapidly disappearing.­ Next thing you know, opponents will be trying to buy­ our players! All of them are good value. The manager­ talked about 'jiggery-pokery' around the box,­ recently. There seemed to be lots of that tonight as­ the goals went in. Mind you, watch those penalties­ 'Pool. You don't always get a second chance!­ With respect, Wigan didn't seem to offer the sort­ of challenge that Coventry are likely to display at­ Bloomfield Road this coming Saturday. There are over 40­ league matches to go, regardless of who we draw in the­ next round of the Carling cup. That's alot of­ concentration, energy, fitness etc. etc.
I watched­ Blackpool beat Man U at Bloomfield Road some years ago­ in this cup. I think it was 5-2? Man U had some big­ guns playing that night but like this evening,­ 'Pool were the better team!
