    • - FT. And that's it! A great game and City are through to the third round of the Carling Cup!

    • 88' Given takes a header from N'Diaye comfortably.
    • 86' De Jong gets on in place of Tevez for the final few minutes of the game...
    • 85' Into the final five minutes now and City are knocking the ball around.
    • 83' Tevez tries to beat Speroni at his near post after weaving in and out of a challenge, but the Palace keeper's been on top form this evening.
    • 80' Carle replaces Moses, who's gone for treatment.
    • 77' Derry hammers well wide as he rushes onto a clearance on the edge of the City area. Good chance, and he should've at least got that on target...
    • 76' Bridge causes Moses some discomfort with a full-blooded challenge...
    • 73' A host of changes, as Scannell and Smith replace Ambrose and Sears for Palace, while Bellamy comes on for Robinho as City make one too.
    • 72' A simple enough headed finish for the Argentine, who is allowed to nod home with Palace's defence distracted by a dummy run across the near post.
    • 71' GOAL FOR CITY! TEVEZ WITH A NEAR-POST HEADER!
    • 70' Bridge is let in behind by Robinho's pass and he fires the ball across the face of goal, and Hill has to turn it behind for a City corner.
    • 68' Clyne does so well to get inside Bridge and he pulls the ball back to Moses, who fires high and wide!
    • 67' SWP hammers a shot well over as Adebayor lays the ball off to him 20 yards out.
    • 66' Tevez tries to send Ireland in but his pass is too heavily weighted.
    • 63' Derry is perfectly placed to intercept SWP's cut-back to Ireland as City again penetrate Palace's area...
    • 60' Danns makes it to the by-line and cuts it back into the danger area for Ambrose, who hesitates. He thought Lescott would get a toe on it but the defender didn't, and the chance goes begging as City manage to clear.
    • 58' Palace looking more stretched now...
    • 56' N'Diaye tries to hit a dipping volley but doesn't get enough power, and it bounces into Given's arms.

    • 53' GREAT SAVE FROM SPERONI! Adebayor homes in on goal after being freed and Speroni makes a magnificent save as he spreads himself well.
    • 51' From Lescott's defensive interception City take the lead. Robinho fed Ireland in the middle and he saw SWP running the overlap on the right. A touch and powerful strike past Speroni from the winger gives the Premier League side the lead.
    • 50' GOAL FOR CITY! AWESOME STRIKE FROM SWP!
    • 49' Lescott brings the ball out after intercepting well, following Moses's long throw into the area.
    • 48' Well the second half's picked up where the first left off... City make some inroads but Palace are right back up the other end and causing problems.
    • 46' And we're back underway for the second half...
    • - HT. And there's the whistle. Goalless at the interval and Palace have more than matched their illustrious opponents.
    • 45'+1 Palace come forward on the attack again but Danns wastes possession on the right flank with a terrible shot that's way off target.
    • 45' Just the one minute of added time to be played...
    • 44' A meaty, no-nonsense tackle from Derry on Tevez there!
    • 42' N'Diaye gets a flick on and Sears is in! Given races out and Sears gets his head on the ball, but the keeper makes another good save!!
    • 41' Bridge is wrongly flagged offside as Robinho finds him on the overlap. He was a good yard onside there...
    • 40' A real battle breaks out in midfield with plenty of good, clean challenges flying in. This is a real cup tie, and it's being played in a great spirit too.
    • 39' Richards has a free header from the corner but his effort is comically off target.
    • 38' Robinho's shot is deflected over for another City corner...

    • 34' City break and Adebayor throws off McCarthy with a great shimmy before firing off a curling shot that Speroni slashes over with his fist.

    • 26' Robinho's caught off again, and this time it's most definitely the correct decision.
    • 24' Derry finds Sears in absolutely acres of space! The youngster can't seem to believe his luck and takes his time before smashing the ball into Given, who's been made to work a fair bit so far...
    • 22' Ireland goes on a great run through the middle but when he gets to the edge of Palace's area he loses out amid a swarm of opposing players.
    • 20' Hill refuses to dive in on Robinho and stands up well to give away a corner, and Moses races clear with the ball as Palace clear.
    • 19' Warnock gets himself into a tizzy on the sidelines about a minor decision that goes City's way...
    • 17' McCarthy is positioned well to cut out Bridge's cross and Palace concede a corner... The home side manage to bring the ball clear.
    • 16' Ireland finds Robinho with a great long ball, but offside is given. The Brazilian was inside his own half when the ball was played however - it was Adebayor in the middle who was marginally off...
    • 14' Given forced into a near-post save as Moses gets in down the left and tries to curl one past the City keeper! McCarthy then forces Given into a save from the resulting corner. Palace are flying!
    • 13' Tevez's industry brings another attack for City but Barry gets his attempted cross all wrong and Speroni claims it easily.
    • 12' City hit Palace on the break and Clyne makes a great interception to deny Robinho a simple goal. Tevez nodded SWP's chipped ball into the Brazilian's path, but Clyne read it very well.
    • 10' Derry gives away a foul on Tevez as he tries to prevent the Argentine from bringing the ball out. Palace are hustling well...
    • 9' Richards is booked for scything down Moses as Palace attack. The home side are causing some real problems for City...

    • 5' Fonte stops a dithering SWP in his tracks on the edge of Palace's area. The winger was dancing forward but never really looked like he had the ball fully under his control. Derry then gives Robinho a taste of South London hospitality with a knee in the back...
    • 4' Palace foray forward and Sears makes it to the by-line before lofting the ball across the face of goal, but with little support.
    • 3' Tevez slices a shot wide as he's fed in via Adebayor and Barry. City are smooth.
    • 2' As if their strong starting XI wasn't enough of a statement of intent, City's lively start sets their stall out further.
    • 1' And we're underway...
    • - Moments away from kick-off...
    • - So Joleon Lescott makes his debut for City after his much-heralded big-money move from Everton. How will he fare?

    • - Team news is in! And we start with hosts Palace, in ascending squad number order... Speroni, Clyne, Hill, Derry, McCarthy, Fonte, Ambrose, Danns, Moses, Sears, N'Diaye...
    • - Palace come into this game off the back of a 2-0 league defeat at the hands of Newcastle, while Man City's campaign has gotten off to a flier with maximum points to date.
    • - Good evening and welcome to our live coverage of Crystal Palace and Manchester City's Carling Cup second round tie!
