To Bob P – As I mentioned, I listen to and appreciate ALL peoples point of view even though I don’t necessarily agree with them.
One thing that is clear is that there are a lot of Sunderland fans that are very bitter towards Roy Keane and seem to be obsessed with the fact that he will walk out of any club he joins.
I’m afraid I don’t know all details of what happened in the final days for Roy at Sunderland (like most fans) and never really will as I am not on the Sunderland board. Many Sunderland fans seem to believe that Roy didn’t get his own way and spat the dummy BUT you also could see it that Roy was assured that he would be responsible for all signings and all team management but then the “Sunderland board” got too involved so he walked?
Either way – time will tell.
Well done Posh. Bob P, you're absolutely right, Keane is a gutless individual and no way a proven manager. Someone who resorts to violence and abuse (especially via the media) whenever he does not get his own way deserves absolutely no respect from anyone. Once the going gets even remotely tough he will be on his way.
Rich S, your logic is astounding! So why do people support Ipswitch Town, Peterborough and not MUFC? Because they have some association and loyalty towards that club. People like you who support a club because they are "bigger" are the retarded idiots.
To fancythefunkymonkey---you have to see the critics point of view! Keane is not a proven manager--no way---and when things get tough--as they surely will---he will do exactly the same as he did with us at Sunderland! His early success went to his--big--head and fed his ego, but when he couldn't get his own way, the toys flew out of the pram and he spat the dummy out! Everyone --except Roy Keane--was at fault.
Believe me, he'll walk when it suits him, and without warning. Remember his spat with Mick McCarthy at the Word Cup? That was Keane at his worst, he was wrong and he knew it. but didn't then-and doesn't now--have the guts to admit when he's wrong---he's a bottler! Ipswich will find that out for themselves.
What is wrong with some of the people that post on this board???
After Roy joined us last year, he is slowly but surely going through the team and replacing players that lack passion, drive & pride for the badge they wear on their shirts and this is NOT a quick process and will NOT instantly deliver the results that we all want straight away.
Whether you like the choice of our current manager or not, a true football fan would support his/her team no matter what.
Sure, everyone is entitled to their own view and each view is in theory as valid as any other – but to all the people who have posted “Keane out now”, please stand back and take a look at yourselves and realise how much of an un-loyal eeejit you are being.
This highlights a major problem we have with our society at present i.e. everyone wants (and think they deserve) everything now and this “now culture attitude” has managed to get our country into real trouble (through bad debt) and will take years to resolve???
Chill out people! Have faith in Roy Keane as he is in it for the long haul. You don’t buy youth players for the future if you are after instant success which is basically what he is doing.
Incidentally, Roy knows that if he quits because of a slow start or at the first sign of trouble – who else would ever want him to manage their team?
rubish that is the onley word to explan our peformons
I support the town and feel as a season ticket holder for many many years I have the right to complain if they are not playing well and losing all the time!! Don't most fans do this, whatever team they support??
Keane needs to go, sooner rather than later, I too was one who didn't want him as manager.
Just hope the board decide a change is needed! Have no idea who should replace him but a replacement is needed NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rich s, (comment 16), comment 11 was clearly asking why people can support ipswich and then come on here and dog them if they lose. Obviously ur brain or english was too poor to recognise this so i felt the urge to point it out "you big clown".
As for you james why dont u support ur club, town, colours through thick and thin, put ur energy into that instead of ranting @#$% on here u @#$%
great footballers dont make good managers look at Fergie.....Ipswatch whoooo!!!!
Do it Roy - walk - you know you want to - just do it.
I for one would be a happy town fan if you did.
Didn't want you here, still don't.
All together now..........KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANO. KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANOE ITS TIME TO GO KEANO, KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANO, ITS TIME TO GO KEANO. To RICH S we support The Posh because they are on the way up not like Ipswich in free fall towards the lower divisions. The days of Sir Bobby Robson are over and its about time the tractor boys recognised that they cannot live on past glories, there are new boys on the block PETERBOROUGH UNITED onwards and upwards (we hope).
what a mater with town
Keane wont last long as manager of Ipswich because he is not management material . Just because he was a good player does not necessary mean he will be a successful manager. Keane needs anger management as well.
whats going on with the town, a sunday league team would have more heart and what to win game. roy keane is a great manager remember he had to sell players to get players. and most of them where ever ipswich rejects and freinds coming back cus magliton was incharge or a waste of money
Ipswich are in absolute dire straits.
come to the posh
what the hell are we gonna do ? this is a living nightmare this season.
Comment 11. ''Why do people support Ipswich?'' Are you a retarded idiot or what?! CAUSE IPSWICH ARE A BIGGER CLUB AND HAVE WON MORE THAN S**** PETERBOROUGH! why the hell do u support them!?!?
