- 37' Fernandinho is challenged by Petit, and the Brazilian appeared to follow his leg through right into a very unpleasant area! Petit is wincing, and who can blame him, especially in the cold of the Ukraine!
- 34' Lucarelli and Brandao combine well and release it across the box for JADSON... He tries the turn onto his favoured left foot but Nelson is back to defend and the chance is gone!
- 31' Now Shakhtar have free kick in the same position. It's floated all the way to Srna on the right wing, who tries a volleyed cross that is cleared away. The crowd a getting behind Shakhtar now.
28' ... And he scores!! Straight down the middle, Quim gets a foot to it but it flies in! Shakhtar have a lucky break, can they capitalise?- 27' Fernandinho goes down a little too easily but wins the free kick in midfield. The ball comes in and Lucarelli goes down... PENALTY!! David Luiz is booked for a virtually non-existent push on the Italian. Lucarelli steps up...
- 25' Shakhtar have got their heads together and are playing some good football. Lucarelli fouls Nelson as he fights to get to a cross.
- 23' Ilsinho slips through a delightful reverse pass for BRANDAO IN THE BOX... He just couldn't latch onto it in time! All he had to do was tap it past Quim!
- 21' GOAL!! Cardozo gets another! Maxi Pereira comes wide to curl in a cross and Oscar Cardozo rises unchallenged to nod a powerful header in for 2-0! Shakhtar are rattled!
- 20' Shakhtar make nothing of it and Benfica break! Katsarounis plays a fantastic diagonal ball forward to Di Maria, who tries a shot form distance. He needn't have bothered.
- 19' Shakhtar have a free kick from deep on the right. It's swung in to the far post... David Luiz heads behind for a corner.
- 15' Brandao goes down in the area after a perfectly timed tackle from Nelson! Brandao is rolling around but the referee is already looking away!
- 14' Both sides are finding it hard to break through the other's midfield at the moment. Petit and Ilsinho are running things for their respective teams.
- 10' The goal has given this match a real cup tie feel, as the pressure is on the home side to come forward and attack. Amazing to think that one goal in this match could send Shakhtar through, into the UEFA Cup, or out of Europe all together!
