    • 90+3' After one final minute of time added on, Webb blows up to end the match. 4-0 to Barca.
    • 90+2' Iniesta almost scores after skipping in from the left; he gets the ball across and Messi shoots, blocked by Keita on the line! It wasn't clear if it was heading in or not.
    • 90+1' Webb books Marquez for time-wasting. And that means he will miss the next match. Was that deliberate?
    • 89' Barca change: Bojan Krkic on for Eto'o. See his player profile here.
    • 88' When the corner comes out to Marquez, he curls a shot past the top corner. Unlucky.
    • 87' Iniesta goes past Oddo on the outside and pings a shot in from an angle that Butt blocks with his chest.
    • 86' Ribery attacking down the left... his low cross is defended by a sliding Alves, and the ball goes back to the France star... he pulls it back for Sosa, but it is intercepted and Barca play the ball out easily.
    • 84' Oddo is down hurt after a clash with Iniesta. It is a leg problem.
    • 83' Barca have had 66 per cent possession - as Xavi and Messi move the ball about here.
    • 81' Barca change: youngster Sergio Busquets on for Yaya Toure.
    • 80' Oddo throws himself backwards to send a diving header out of play with Xavi arriving at the back post.
    • 79' Messi with some fantastic control and almost finds a way through again. No breakthrough yet in this half.
    • 78' Iniesta with a dance in from the left, leaving Oddo and Schweinsteiger in his wake before cracking a drive wide of the top corner. That would have been a corking goal.
    • 77' Bayern change: Jose Ernesto Sosa on for Ze Roberto.
    • 76' Have your say on the match below. Will Barca win the Champions League? Or could Arsenal challenge? There is an interesting scoreline in the other game tonight at Anfield - to see how Liverpool and Chelsea are getting on, click here.
    • 75' And he has a run out there immediately before Eto'o just fails to get on the end of it.
    • 74' Barca change: Henry leaves to a rapturous reception, to be replaced by Seydou Keita. Andres Iniesta will probably move forward on the left from his previous position in midfield. Check out Henry's career path.
    • 72' Ze Roberto has played for a few clubs... see which ones here.
    • 71' Puyol with a great diving block to deny Ze Roberto a few yards out!! Brilliant defending.
    • 70' Messi's whipped ball in towards Pique is headed over by a defender. A little earlier Ze Roberto would have been through if he had controlled the ball - the look on his face says it all.
    • 69' Eto'o again closing down to nick the ball around the penalty area, winning a throw. Messi is then fouled on the corner of the box.
    • 68' Eto'o showing some remarkable speed given that they have been playing a high-tempo game for over an hour. Butt makes him look a fool though with a dummy. A dangerous game for a keeper to play...
    • 67' Pique deals with a throw-in down the line as Ribery chases; Valdes boots the ball out of play with Toni closing down.
    • 66' It must be galling to chase the ball about 4-0 down with a journey back ahead of you after looking forward to one of the biggest games of the year for so long. But that is what Bayern are doing in the name of keeping the score 'respectable'.
    • 64' Iniesta has three men around him in the corner - and wins a corner kick. His close control is impeccable. Player profile.
    • 62' More combative defending from an irate Bayern side which gives Barca a free-kick.
    • 61' Ze Roberto with a late challenge on Xavi that has the natives indignant. That should have been a booking.
    • 60' Toni looking to go through on goal alongside Marquez; the Mexican goes down and gets the foul.
    • 59' Messi on the rampage, cutting across the pitch and shooting from 20-odd yards... Butt gets a hand to it and it comes off the bar and flies over!!
    • 58' Demichelis is booked for a foul on Eto'o that leaves the Cameroon star hobbling.
    • 57' Ze Roberto has not been able to exert any influence on this match for Bayern. At all.
    • 56' Marquez with a sideways volley into the ground that is wide of the near post. What has he won in his career? Find out here...
    • 55' Another Alves cross is defended, and this time it results in a corner, not a throw-in...
    • 54' Barca keeping the ball... Alves's cross is ultimately cut out at the near post.
    • 53' Barca are six points clear of Real Madrid in La Liga. See the table by clicking here.
    • 52' Surely Klinsmann is going to bring on Lukas Podolski soon? They need at least one goal tonight, if not more... Lyon managed it in the last round remember and had a stab at going through.... see the Germany star's profile here.
    • 51' Eto'o wins a free-kick down the left side of the box; Xavi to take. It is low across the edge of the box for Messi, but defended easily enough.
    • 49' Puyol, at left-back tonight, covers for Gerard Piquet in a central position.... ultimately Toni trips over his own heels in the box. No way Webb is going to give a penalty for that - Marquez was a yard away.
    • 48' Messi flying down the right wing and is chopped down by Lell. He knew exactly what he was doing. Webb dishes out a yellow card.
    • 48' Ribery looked furious and frustrated at times in that first half; what price on him leaving in the summer - perhaps even to Barca?
    • 47' There is no Marcell Jansen, Lucio or Daniel Van Buyten in the German team's squad, all solid defenders; while Willy Sagnol retired recently due to injury problems.
    • 46' Bayern have made a change: Andreas Ottl on for Hamit Altintop.
    • 46' The second half begins, Bayern now kicking to our right.
    • - Bayern re-emerge for the second half.
    • - Check out some photographs from the first half... click here to see them.
    • 45+4' Only 4-0 at the break.
    • 45+3' Guardiola, watching in the stands, will be content with his team, it is fair to say. Klinsmann looks flabbergasted. What is he going to say? I hope there's a few tea cups for him to play with...
    • 45+1' It should be five!! Alves beats Lell on the right and sends a low ball across; Messi, Iniesta and Eto'o all have a stab at putting it away, but somehow fail to.
    • 45' Ribery with room to shoot from an angle on the left, but drags it yards wide. There is only one winner tonight I'm afraid: it has been a masterclass of football and the Camp Nou is jumping. Four minutes to be added on.
    • 44' Messi is hurt after his former team-mate Van Bommel blocked him off side-first. The Dutchman immediately goes to see if he's all right, and he is, but he took a right smack.
    • 43' GOAL NUMBER FOUR FOR BARCELONA!! Messi scampers across the penalty area and finds Alves, whose Cruyff flick goes to Eto'o; Van Bommel tackles him and the ball runs to Henry, who finishes superbly inside the far post low down with his left foot.
    • 41' This is a training session for the Catalans. If there is a glimmer of hope for Bayern, it is that when they have the ball, Barca are a bit vulnerable at the back.
    • 39' Van Bommel is having a right pop at Demichelis and Oddo, who could not stop the ball across. Ribery shoots and Victor Valdes makes the save at his near post.
    • 38' GOAL NUMBER THREE FOR BARCA!! Henry does brilliantly to attack down the left and square inside the six-yard box - and Lell diverted it into his own net with Messi behind him.
    • 37' Messi has space on the right but is faced down by a plethora of defenders; he tries to go through them all and is dispossessed - but wins the ball back and tees up Eto'o, whose strike from 12 yards is just over!!
    • 36' The amount of possession Barca have enjoyed is actually slightly less than they are used to in La Liga: 62 per cent. Still, that is a helluva lot.
    • 35' Toni looks abjectly at the ref after he is penalised for having a hand on Barca captain Carles Puyol's shoulder.
    • 34' Barca corner bent in by Xavi and claimed by Butt. I hope his mum's not watching, or she'll be clucking away at whoever's nearest. He's been in the wars so far, bless him.
    • 33' Alves with a wild strike from 30-odd yards that most members of my football team would better by a long shot - it was nowhere near the goal - although a couple would probably be proud of it.
    • 31' Iniesta tries for a lofted diagonal ball as Messi stays onside on the right, but it is straight out of play. The ultimate Sunday morning football insult applies: 'the right idea.' The difference is that Iniesta is actually very, very good at football, unlike the rest of us.
    • 30' Ribery thinks he was blocked off but Webb does not give the foul. He is displeased.
    • 29' The match is settling down a bit after the early onslaught. Bayern have found a shape and are sticking with it, plus they are defending higher up the pitch now and not inviting their opponents on to them.
    • 28' Barcelona keeping the ball on the left. It is worked through to Henry, whose cross is too close to Butt with Eto'o lurking on the penalty spot.
    • 27' A Bastian Schweinsteiger cross from the right is too long and Ribery fails to keep it in on the far side.
    • 25' Butt is scarred with cuts and bruises but after changing his top, ready to play on. Good on you, sir.
    • 24' Trying to work out why Bayern are fourth in the Bundesliga? See their squad list here.
    • 23' Henry slipped slightly and caught shot-stopper Butt full in the face with his studs after the ball had gone. Both are down hurt.
    • 22' Iniesta with a mazy run forward, and sends a pinpoint pass through for Henry to latch on to... he's through... and puts it wide!! What a chance for a third goal.
    • 21' Juergen Klinsmann and his captain Van Bommel have some immense work to do to keep Bayern in this tie.
    • 19' Barca coach Pep Guardiola is fuming on the touchline, berating Webb and bringing the game to a halt; he continues his verbal assault on the fourth official - and is sent to the stands!!
    • 18' The Camp Nou is going absolutely wild at the English ref!! He is a brave man - there seemed to be some contact from Lell but Messi did go down easy.
    • 17' Messi goes down in the box... what will Howard Webb do here? No penalty - and a yellow card for Messi!
    • 16' Henry almost capitalises on a mistake by Butt.
    • 15' Eto'o is felled by a clumsy Demichelis. Barca keep the ball and come at their visitors again.
    • 13' Christian Lell has been turned inside out at left-back in the first minutes of this game. Philipp Lahm is on the bench, and with Massimo Oddo and Breno struggling in the back four, surely he will come on at some point.
    • 12' A SECOND GOAL FOR BARCA!!! Eto'o finishes under Butt after a clever reverse pass through by Messi; he was level, just onside. Barca absolutely rampant!
    • 11' Rafael Marquez caught late by Ribery and needs some attention.
    • 10' Martin Demichelis could only watch as he stuck the ball away; Bayern are lightweight at the back tonight - and look it.
    • 9' MESSI SCORES FOR BARCA!!! Andres Iniesta came wheeling across the final third and got the ball to Eto'o, who played in the young Argentine; he finished inside the far post, as he has done so often already for the Catalan club in his career.
    • 7' Barca knocking at the door again, Messi a constant threat on the right.
    • 6' HENRY GOES THROUGH... ROUND THE KEEPER... AND CANNOT FINISH!! Alves found Xavi, who threaded the ball through; he went wide of Hans-Joerg Butt but his effort was cleared off the line.
    • 5' Dani Alves fouls Ribery on halfway. The Frenchman seeks to get on with the game quickly.
    • 4' See Lionel Messi's player profile here.
    • 3' Bayern sitting back in the opening moments, as you might expect. The teams who have done the best against Barca this season however have defended high up the pitch and with a high tempo.
    • 2' There are so many match-winners out there tonight, any of them could pop up with something special. Franck Ribery and Luca Toni stand out for the visitors, while Mark van Bommel used to play for Barca. For the home side Lionel Messi, Thierry Henry and Samuel Eto'o form an awesome strike force.
    • 1' Set for kick-off then, Barca to kick from left to right in traditional colours of blue and maroon. Bayern in all white.
    • - The teams are in the tunnel... and emerge to a roar from the fans.
    • - Bayern were thrashed 5-1 by Wolfsburg at the weekend whereas Barca beat Valladolid 1-0 to stretch their winning run to five matches.
    • - The teams are in: Barcelona: Valdes, Dani Alves, Marquez, Pique, Puyol, Xavi, Toure Yaya, Iniesta, Messi, Eto'o, Henry Subs: Pinto, Caceres, Gudjohnsen, Bojan, Keita, Sylvinho, Busquets Bayern Munich: Butt, Oddo, Demichelis, Breno, Lell, Altintop, Schweinsteiger, Van Bommel, Ze Roberto, Ribery, Toni Subs: Rensing, Podolski, Ottl, Sosa, Lahm, Borowski, Badstuber Referee: Howard Webb (England)
    • - Barcelona have kept only one clean sheet in their last nine Champions League matches, but won 10 and drawn one of their last 11 Champions League matches against German opposition.
    • - The German side have won three and drawn one of their four games against Barcelona in Europe and tasted victory on both visits to Spain; however Bayern have lost only two of their last 18 matches in the Champions League and only one of the last nine on the road.
    • - Barcelona and Bayern are the joint top scorers in the competition with 24 goals apiece, while Bayern's Miroslav Klose is the joint top-scorer with seven goals and Barca midfielder Xavi has supplied the most assists so far in the competition - five.
    • - Barcelona face Bayern in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final at the Camp Nou.

  1. I love the score, this is payback for what Bayern did to Sporting, I mean you dont go to beat someone 12-1. And Barcelona is definetly the best team by far, but I am Man Utd fan and have to support my team, hopefully they meet in Rome again. Good luck to both teams, Barca vs Bayern 4-0 again pls.

who the F**K thinks bayern has the best defense?
i would say they have the most awful defense ever, worse than west brom's.
their attack is strong but if the defense cant give the the ball to the attackers, what the F**K is the point?

  9. bayern fans shouldn't be upset about this. It was expected. We are not strong enough yet to face barcelona or the top 4 in europe. NO chance. so no point crying over this. Our team since klinsmann has taken charge has gotten worse, as there is no discipline and he is the kind of coach without authority who allows players like Podolski and Ribery to hold the whole team ransom. Indeed yesterday was the worst performance of bayern, and I stopped watching the match after 25 minutes switching to chelsea's. There are a lot of things wrong with bayern, but this is not the time to start them. Bayern have lost heart, and the way they are approaching the second leg with a nothing to win mentality says it all. THey have lost their fighting spirit and these player will never gain it back. Bayern needs loyal club players like Effenberg, Scholl, Lizarazu, Kahn, and not a bunch of players who approach games as if they were friendlies. What is important is for all to realize the klinsmann experiment is a dead experiment.

  11. Outstanding performance, keep giving results like that and that title will be ours.
and the fact is that Bayern Munich have one of the strongest defences in europe, but still were carved open in the first half.
Great performance from messi once again.
