    • - What a night! Utter heartbreak for Chelsea... but joy for Barca! Terry has strong words with the referee... but it won't change anything now! Thanks for joining us... see you next time!
    • 90'+8 There goes the final whistle! And Barcelona will contest the Champions League final!
    • 90'+7 ANOTHER MASSIVE HANDBALL SHOUT AS BALLACK SEES A VOLLEY HIT A BARCA ARM! He remonstrates with the ref... but he's having none of it! Yellow for Ballack...
    • 90'+6 What a turn of events! Barca make a change to waste some time... Iniesta is replaced by Gudjohnsen....
    • 90'+3 GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! BARCA STEAL IT AT THE DEATH! INCREDIBLE! Alves centres... it falls to Messi who squares for Iniesta... and he equals Essien's earlier effort with an absolute screamer to break Chelsea hearts! What a strike!
    • 90' Eto'o is booked as four minutes of added time is signalled.
    • 87' Tense times for Chelsea as Messi goes down under a Malouda challenge! Play on says the ref!
    • 86' Lampard breaks free of the Barca defence... he plays it to Essien! But his shot is blocked this time!
    • 84' Bojan comes on for Busquets... can the youngster make amends for his late miss a week ago?
    • 82' Massive hand ball shout as the ball hits Pique's hand in the box as Anelka tries to flick the ball past him! Again, the ref waves play on!
    • 80' Pique hustles his way through... he gets off a shot, but again it's wide of the mark! Ten minutes left... and the tension is rising!
    • 79' Anelka races through now... he collides with Toure and hits the ground! Goal kick says the ref!
    • 78' Alves blasts over from the free-kick, and still we're waiting for a Barca strike on goal!
    • 77' Alex will miss the final! He gets booked for a sly trip on Messi and the Barca ace threatened to open up the Chelsea defence!
    • 74' Essien goes in hard on Iniesta and the Ghanaian is booked for the challenge...
    • 72' Drogba is sacrificed for Belletti now, as Chelsea look to secure their lead. Drog looks crestfallen that he's the man to have made way.
    • 71' Lampard fires at goal once again! It's deflected, but Valdes reacts quick enough to pounce on the ball!
    • 69' Lampard fires a low drive wide of the mark from the free-kick! But of a wasted chance, that one...
    • 68' Anyway, Chelsea have a free-kick, 25 yards out as Anelka hobbles off for some treatment...
    • 67' That's harsh on Abidal and Barca... he clipped Anelka's heels, that's for sure, but Toure may have been in a position to come across and stamp out the danger...
    • 66' ABIDAL IS SENT OFF! The Barca defender trips Anelka as the Frenchman runs onto a Drogba flick-on from another long ball forward!
    • 65' Messi jinks inside and lets fly! Wide from the little Argentinian! And Chelsea fans breathe a huge sigh of relief...
    • 63' There's no denying that Barca are getting back into this one... even if Cech has not had to make a save as yet.
    • 62' Iniesta looks to feed Eto'o now... but the striker isn't on his wavelength this time and the move breaks down.
    • 60' Keita swivvels in the Chelsea box! But his volley is over the bar! Barca are beginning to click though...
    • 59' Barca are soon back on the front foot and the visitors win another corner! This one's headed clear by the Chelsea defence!
    • 58' Messi very nearly slips a ball through for Eto'o! Alex gets there though and Chelsea can breathe easy - for the moment at least!
    • 57' Drogba turns Toure on the edge of the Barca box! What a tussle between the two of them! Toure slides in and wins the ball cleanly, despite the striker's appeals for a penalty!
    • 54' Drogba could live to rue that miss... only time will tell...
    • 53' DROGBA! Must be! Anelka plays him in... he cuts back inside, leaving Pique on his backside but he can't beat Valdes, who pulls off a great save! Malouda fires into the side netting on the follow up!
    • 51' Still, Barca need just a goal to turn this match on its head... it really is on a knife-edge and the longer it stays like this, the more nervy Chelsea will become...
    • 48' Keita wins a corner off Ballack and Barca have another chance to threaten Chelsea's goal early in the second half...
    • 47' Barca win an early free-kick... it's a training ground move, but Alves sees his ultimate effort sail high into the stand behind Cech's goal.
    • 46' Back underway at Stamford Bridge! No changes to tell you about and surely plenty more thrills to come!
    • 45'+3 Barca win another corner from their first effort... but there won't be time to take it! Chelsea take a 1-0 lead in with them at the break!
    • 45'+2 Alves delivers another great ball into the box after brilliant play from Messi! Bosingwa chests behind for a corner!
    • 45' Messi tries to slip it through for Eto'o! But again Bosingwa is alert and the Portuguese snaffles the danger!
    • 43' Bosingwa has played well this half... he chests a Messi ball into the Chelsea box back to Cech, cool as a cucumber.
    • 41' Great ball in from Alves... and Bosingwa is forced into headed behind for a corner... Chelsea initially clear their lines, but the ball is pumped back in soon enough... Eto'o is in two minds whether to go for it and it ends up bouncing out for a goal kick.
    • 38' Xavi looks to play a one-two with Messi... but his lay off is far too overcooked and the ball runs out for a Chelsea goal kick.
    • 37' Cech now pounces on an awkwardly deflected cross... that's good keeping and will do the Cech's confidence a world of good.
    • 36' Iniesta is unceremoniously brought to the floor by a combination of Bosingwa and Lampard.
    • 35' Malouda again tracks back well, this time to head out for a throw with Alves again getting forward down the Barca right...
    • 34' Drogba heads on again... but Valdes is alert enough to come off his line and claim.
    • 33' Chelsea down to 10 men for the time being...
    • 32' Lampard will require some treatment for a blow to the mouth... there's blood coming out and he is forced to go off for some treatment...
    • 31' After Barca's initial superior possession, Chelsea are now on top of the game... that's not to say, Barca aren't capable of scoring...
    • 30' Alves goes up with Malouda by the touchline... the Chelsea man takes the brunt of the challenge and Alves is booked! That means the Brazilian will miss the final, should Barca get there...
    • 29' Messi for the first time gets away from his man on the Barca right... it gets played cross field but Xavi's effort is wild and Cech is not troubled...
    • 28' Xavi dinks the ball through for the marauding Alves! But Malouda tracks back well and does enough to draw the foul!
    • 27' With replays showing Malouda to have gone down inside the box in the earlier incident, Chelsea can consider themselves mighty unlucky not to have been awarded at least one spot kick!
    • 26' Lampard plays in Drogba! This time he brings the ball down brilliantly! Abidal's all over him! Drogba goes down in the box! But the ref waves play on!
    • 25' Oooh! Terry rises to meet the resulting corner with a firm header that drifts just wide of the post, with Alex stretching in vain to knock it in!
    • 25' Drogba leathers the ball around the two-man wall and Valdes is forced into saving with his legs!
    • 24' Malouda keeps the ball in brilliantly... he hares off down the line... Alves is struggling! And the Brazilian ends up hauling the Chelsea flyer down, inches outside the box - or at least that's what the ref thinks.
    • 22' Lampard hooks a ball through for Drogba to chase... Valdes hesitates for a split second! But he recovers and comes out to clear just ahead of the Ivorian!
    • 21' Of the 10 previous Champions League semi-finals to have finished all square in the first leg, the side at home in the second leg has reached the final on seven occasions.
    • 20' Look who's in the crowd with Fabio Capello tonight... and no, it's not Brains from Thunderbirds.
    • 19' Drogba is just off the pitch at the moment... he's changing his boots...
    • 18' Malouda now wins a free-kick off Alves, and Chelsea have the chance to get a ball into the box... but nothing comes of it this time.
    • 17' Chelsea break now... Malouda pulls back for Lampard! But the England man's left footer is way over the bar!
    • 16' Eto'o, who has started out on the left with Messi through the middle, comes inside now... but he's upended by Terry and Chelsea come away with the ball...
    • 14' Iniesta dazzles with the ball at his feet, but his final ball is poor...
    • 13' Chelsea haven't had a great deal of possession so far, but crucially, when they have, they've made it count.
    • 11' The Bridge is still rocking after that strike... it really was a wonderful, wonderful goal.
    • 10' So, that means that there won't be a penalty shoot-out tonight... but at the moment, it doesn't really change what Barca have to do - if they score, and Chelsea don't add another, the Catalans go through.
    • 9' GOAL! ESSIEN! WHAT A STRIKE! UNBELIEVABLE! The midfielder absolutely lashes a volley into the top corner from 25 yards out from a ball that took a deflection and looped up into the air! It all stems from a long Cech clearance forward, which Drogba won in the air, but the finish was nothing short of sensational!
    • 8 Barca have started the better of the two sides... they're certainly enjoying more possession early on.
    • 7' Xavi centres to the far post where Alves volleys back across the face of goal! But again, the Brazilian's effort lacks control and Chelsea have a goal kick.
    • 6' Alves gets forward well now... but his cross is overhit and the ball floats over everyone's heads and out for a throw on the far side.
    • 5' Bosingwa clears off the line! It's not really a danger though as Xavi's shot is deflected twice before looping towards the far corner... Bosingwa simply volleys away to safety!
    • 4' Eto'o now surges foward... but Bosingwa tracks him well, gets in front of the Barca striker and plays the ball back to Cech, who clears.
    • 3' Lampard is penalised for a tug on Iniesta... Barca can break with Messi latching onto a backheel by Eto'o! But Alex stands firm and Chelsea come away with the ball...
    • 2' Drogba could be in here after Terry capitalises on a slip in the Barca midfield! But the Ivorian's control lets him down terribly and the ball pings away from him! He would have been in on goal there...
    • 2' But it's Barca who have kept hold of the ball since kick-off....
    • 2' Stamford Bridge is rocking tonight! The crowd certainly appear to be up for this one!
    • 1' Barca are in yellow shirts tonight, Chelsea in their traditional all blue...
    • 1' Here we go! Underway in west London!
    • - Kick-off is fast approaching... the famous music blasts out at Stamford Bridge and the teams line up for a photo opportunity!
    • - Manchester United await tonight's victors in the final in Rome... here's what getting to Rome meant to Rio Ferdinand last night.
    • - For all those stats nerds out there, click here to fill your boots.
    • - And Barca's injury problems at the back mean Yaya Toure plays centre-half, with Seydou Keita filling the Ivorian's place in midfield.
    • - So, it's as expected for Chelsea, but for Barca, injured Thierry Henry doesn't even make the bench. Andres Iniesta moves into a more advanced role in place of the Frenchman, with Sergio Busquets coming into midfield.
    • - And Barca like this: 1-Victor Valdes; 20-Daniel Alves, 3-Gerard Pique, 24-Yaya Toure, 22-Eric Abidal; 6-Xavi, 28-Sergio Busquets, 15-Seydou Keita; 10-Lionel Messi, 9-Samuel Eto'o, 8-Andres Iniesta.
    • - The teams are in... Chelsea line up like this: 1-Petr Cech; 17-Jose Bosingwa, 33-Alex, 26-John Terry, 3-Ashley Cole; 5-Michael Essien, 13-Michael Ballack, 8-Frank Lampard; 39-Nicolas Anelka, 11-Didier Drogba, 15-Florent Malouda.
    • - The first leg at the Camp Nou finished goalless a week ago, prompting plaudits (in England) and criticism (in Spain) for Chelsea's defensive display.
    • - Chelsea welcome the mighty Barcelona to Stamford Bridge hoping to book a place in the Champions League final against Manchester United.
  • Summary

    • 90'+3 GOAL! GOAL! GOAL! BARCA STEAL IT AT THE DEATH! INCREDIBLE! Alves centres... it falls to Messi who squares for Iniesta... and he equals Essien's earlier effort with an absolute screamer to break Chelsea hearts! What a strike!

Everyone is going on about appealing against the red card which Darren Fletcher received but no one has mentioned why Iniesta did not receive a yellow card for taking his shirt off after scoring his goal? This would mean he would miss the final as he was already on a yellow! We’re guessing most Chelsea fans are about as happy about last night’s goings on as Didier “IT’S A F**KING DISGRACE” Drogba. So we’re refunding all bets on Chelsea to win last night’s match and reach the final of the Champions League!

Four penalty claims denied - at least one of which could not have been more blatant, plus the absolute heartbreak of conceding in the 3rd minute of injury time after a fantastic defensive effort over 180 minutes.

  13. I am a Barca fan, but I thought Chelsea should had win. Key players were missing in Barca's line-up, other players had to play outside their regular positions to compensate. Chelsea should had attack more considering both Barca's centerbacks were out. Chelsea looked better when they were attacking. But instead, they switch Drogba out and put on a defender. As for controversial call, it happens from time to time. After the first leg, it was a Chelsea player (I dont remember who) that said they dont complain.

  15. You get your facts straight barca_nr_1. I have just stated that we should have been more of an attacking force. I still believe that we had you beaten at the Bridge, but didn't take advantge of it. Your team weren't at their best and were missing key players, but we didn't press you hard enough. Essien's goal was brilliant, it may have taken a deflection as it fell to him, but what a volley. Iniesta was imperious, i'd love him to come here and Xavi ain't bad either. Just rmember that technically we didn't lose to you, it was a draw, but the away goal counts. Anyway remember the penalties we should have had. In my view Hiddink messed up when you had the man sent off. We should have attacked you more

    From rockchris54, on Fri 8 May 7:07AM
  16. you chelsea and english fagsssss, get the facts straight. If chelsea was such a better team, and palyed better than barca, why didn't they scored more goals? Barca was missing Henry, they were missing 3 of their best defenders, Puyol, Milito, and Marques, and still chelse could not score more than one goal, and that goal was lucky from eissen. Plus the fact that Barca was a man down and they still managed to score. Also, did you forget the match at Camp Nou, when ballack got away with the red card, and a penalty was not given to Henry, and Barca had 23 shots to 3 shots for chelsea, and when Barca fans were complaining, you chelsea fans were laughing. Guess what? It's pay back. Face it, Barca deserved to win, they played better in both legs, they had more possesion and more shots and played real football, and not antifootball like chelsea did.

    From barca_nr_1, on Fri 8 May 6:31AM
  17. I am a really disappointed Chelsea fan, not just because of the penalties we had turned down, two of which were stone wall, but also because of the way we played.
We were too negative. When Barcelona had a man sent off they were reeling and were on the back foot, we had them beat. Our manager then decided to replace a striker with a defender giving the impetus back to Barcelona. Even Jamie Rednapp knew that it was a dangerous game to just try to hold on to a one goal lead, we should have thrown everything at them, but we never and we paid the price. Credit to Barca as they kept there beliefs and kept pressing for the killer goal. We on the other hand lost more than a game of football, we lost our reputation as a good footballing side. I dont know what hurts more. Just read the Sun newspaper they are embarassingly biased towards us. Dont know what game they were watching!!! I was there with friends who all agreed that we should have pressed them more. They weren't at their best and we should have punished them. Good luck in the final Barca, at least we can say we were beaten by the winners.

    From rockchris54, on Fri 8 May 5:52AM
