    • 90'+3 That's it! All over, and Arsenal have battled out as tough a draw as you'll see thanks to a simply stunning equaliser from Adebayor. After the start they got off to that's a superb result for the Gunners, who on the evidence of that last half hour will be favourites to make the semi-finals when these teams meet at the Emirates.
    • 90'+3 The corner is well cleared, and that looks like that'll be it... but no! Clichy wins another one up the left, it'll be the last kick of the match !
    • 90'+2 Eboue charges in to the box looking lively, but is well tackled: corner for the Gooners.
    • 90' Three extra minutes to play...
    • 90' The ball comes in from the Villarreal corner - and Godin heads just over!!!
    • 89' Good move across the pitch from Villarreal and Rossi wins a corner...
    • 88' There's an equaliser for Porto at Old Trafford - will we see a late goal here as well?
    • 87' Arsenal push back up looking fot that winner - and Nasri earns a yellow for a sliding tackle after Adebayor is denied what looks a great call for a free kick right on the edge of the box!
    • 86' Pires on the ball looking for a gap finds Fernandez, who finds Angel.... but the Villarreal man booms the ball miles over the bar from close range. That's a bad miss for the hosts.
    • 85' Adebayor gets on the ball just short of the box and dribbles in to space, but slices his shot well wide...
    • 84' In tonight's other match Carlos Tevez has just scored what seems to be a winner - Man U breathe again...
    • 82' The pace has just come off the match in the last few minutes, and we seem to be heading for a draw now.
    • 80' Good move from Villarreal forces Toure to slide the ball off the pitch rather than let Rossi get to it... from the corner the ball is cleared, and Senna smacks another beauty that flies just past the top left!
    • 78' Odd decision from Wenger: Walcott comes off for Eboue. I know he wants to protect his young prize and go home with the draw and the away goal, but Walcott was on fire and looked the likeliest provider of a winning cross.
    • 77' Another superb break for Arsenal, and Walcott comes steaming in to unleash hell on a free shot... BUT IT'S JUST OVER THE TOP!!!! They're looking a different side in the last 15 minutes, much better stuff from the Gunners.
    • 76' Arsenal snuff out another Villarreal attack, then break through Walcott on the right - the speedy winger outpaces half the defence but the cross is blocked.
    • 75' Villarreal get the ball in to the Arsenal six-yard box for the first time in what feels like hours, but there's only Djourou and Fabianski waiting for it.
    • 74' Villarreal are completely subdued now as the visitors surge forward time and again, showing a great balance of speed and patience.
    • 73' Another corner for the visitors is cleared out as far as Nasri, who misdirects his shot - it clips Adebayor's dreadlocks to fly off for a goal kick.
    • 72' Arsenal keep pushing up... Smart money is on a winner for th Gunners now...
    • 71' Corner for Arsenal... played in nicely, but the ref blows for a push in the box.
    • 70' On comes former Gunners man Robert Pires, replacing Llorente...
    • 69' Great move up the left from Clichy, releasing Nasri to control and shoot - BUT IT'S JUST WIDE!!! Great effort...
    • 68' Arsenal had been looking so much neater in the last few minutes, and as soon as they kept patient the breakthrough came - though ironically it was from a long ball. Now, though, their blood is up and they keep pushing forward.
    • 66' STUNNING GOAL!!!!! A long ball up from half-way picks up Adebayor - who was surrounded by defenders, but controls brilliantly on his chest and finishes with a scissor kick that leaves Diego Lopez rooted to the spot! As good a striker's goal as you'll ever see!!!
    • 65' Great move from Arsenal up the right - but Walcott can't get to the ball - BUT MOMENTS LATER ADEBAYOR SCORES!!!!!
    • 64' More good play from the visitors - again channelled through Walcott on the right. This is calmer, neater football and you can start to see where an equaliser might come from...
    • 63' Best move of the half by Arsenal sees a lovely chipped pass in from Walcott - AND ADEBAYOR HEADS JUST WIDE! So close to an equaliser there for the Gunners...
    • 61' Free kick for Villarreal, but the ball deflects well wide and off for a goal kick.
    • 60' This boisterous match is certainly fiery - more big tackles from either side, and it just feels like someone might go too far for the ref's liking at some point...
    • 59' Clichy makes a run up the right but is bundled off the ball by Ibagaza.
    • 58' Just as Arsenal looked to be creating some pressure the Spaniards get back on the ball, and again choke the life out of their opponents.
    • 57' A move up the right from Theo Walcott is hit too far for Nasri to get on to the end of - but it was at least a half-chance...
    • 56' Villarreal have had 56 per cent of the ball so far - and look well in control.
    • 55' Lots of midfield ping pong at the moment as the two sides close each other out.
    • 47' Cani off for Fernandez. That looks like a he was trying to play through a first-half knock and failed.
    • 54 Villarreal pull their keep-the-ball tricks again and keep Arsenal at bay.
    • 52' Fabregas again pushes forward - he's a one-man team at the moment, terrorising the Villarreal defence. Then he pulls an ugly hack on Capdevila that might literally have killed a lesser man. The defender hobbles off to be looked at, but it's adjudged not to be a foul and Arsenal have a corner.
    • 51' Nice back-heel from Fabregas sets up a move looks promising, but when the cross comes Adebayor is off-side...
    • 50' Cesc Fabregas does his best to make something from nothing but runs out of space and support, and is reduced to a pot-shot on the run that's easily blocked.
    • 49' Can Arsenal come back? They've only scored twice in their last five matches in the Champions League, so history is not on their side...
    • 48' First couple of dangerous bits of play from Villarreal, and the Spanish seem to have plenty of cutting edge. That man Rossi is very close to getting on the end of a ball through from Eguren.
    • 47' Decent start to the second half for Arsenal, who look keen to push up and are keeping the ball on the floor to do so.
    • 46' Back under way in Spain... Lord knows what Wenger must have made of that first half, no doubt he's given his boys something of a half-time rocket.
    • - In all honesty, a pretty awful first half for Arsenal. Not just a goal down, but also two players crocked - massively limiting their tactical options for later in the game. Yet it could have been worse: Adebayor is lucky to be on the pitch.... though if Fabregas's cheeky quick free kick had counted things would have looked very different.
    • 45'+3 A long ball up field, and our no-nonsense Wilkins-Collina hybrid blows for the end of the half...
    • 45'+2 The free kick comes at length - but straight in to the wall this time...
    • 45'+1 Fabregas gets booked for taking it early! Extraordinary!
    • 45'+1 Fabregas takes it quickly - AND SCORES!!!! But the ref says no, he's not ready!
    • 45' Adebayor dives to try and win a free kick on the edge of the box - and the ref buys it! Great chance for Arsenal to equalise from 25 yards out...
    • 44' Now Adebayor has a mad shoving swipe at Godin and goes in the book - but in all honesty he should probably now be off the pitch! A let-off for the Gunners!
    • 43' Adebayor takes Senna out from behind - lucky not to earn a yellow, or worse...
    • 42' Shot by Rossi from the edge of the box is guided wide; meanwhile Gallas has come back on, but promptly hobbles back off again. He's crocked good and proper, I'm afraid, and Djourou comes on in his stead.
    • 41' No replacement for Gallas yet - the big man looked like he went down more to avoid being penalised than anything, though. Arsenal will do without and hope he's okay to return after half-time.
    • 40' From the resulting corner Eguren gets his head to the ball but he steers it over the bar.
    • 40' Ibagaza takes the free kick after a lengthy delay for bookings and stretchers - but it's against the wall.
    • 39' Song gets a yellow card - but Gallas is stretchered off after being kicked in by Rossi as the attacker went down.
    • 38' Fabulous run by Rossi scythes through the Gunners' defence - and Song chops him down with a clumsy challenge from behind to concede a free kick right on the very edge!
    • 37' Adebayor comes in to the box in possession, plays it wide to Sagna - but the right-back's cross is rubbish. Just not good enough to make decent chances at the moment.
    • 36' Tackle on Cani by Song gives Villarreal a free kick, but it's against the wall.
    • 35' A speculative long free kick upfield by Arsenal is no challenge, and Villarreal keeper Diego Lopez takes it comfortbaly.
    • 34' Kolo Toure now makes a run up the left, crossing in fairly well for Fabregas - but the skipper can't get to the ball.
    • 33' Adebayor runs up the left looking for space; cuts in and shoots with the right foot, but it's taken easily by Lopez.
    • 32' Villarreal getting in control of things here now: that period of Arsenal dominance is a fading memory and it's the Spaniards who look more dangerous.
    • 30' Rossi dives to try and get a penalty after landing on Toure while jumping for a header. The chunky Wilkins-Collina hybrid is having none of it.
    • 30' Another long shot by Senna - AND SO CLOSE TO SCORING! Good save by Fabianski, but he doesn't hang on to it and Capdevila follows up, drawing another brilliant save.
    • 29' A Villarreal cross sees Rossi attempt an overhead kick that's about as good as you'd see in the average Sunday League match.
    • 28' Almunia is off the pitch, replaced by Fabianski. The keeper had what looked a minor knock in a collision with Rossi early on... and has looked wobbly throughout. Probably a good move to just get rid of him now.
    • 27' Nice move from Villrreal sees Rossi make a good chance in the middle of the park, but the yellow shirts of the home side end up getting in each others' way.
    • 26' The managers are a picture, Wenger looking furious, Pellegrini looking over-exited and almost slightly terrified about being in the lead.
    • 25' Villarreal are hanging on to the ball at the moment, trying to win back that momentum.
    • 24' Adebayor goes for a tackle on Senna and ends up almost mounting him in the centre circle... blimey!
    • 23' Villarreal play a couple of long balls up looking for counter chances, but both are dealt with well.
    • 21' The breathless pace of the match has slowed slightly: it's now the Gunners probing for gaps through midfield, the Spanish seemingly happy to sit back patiently.
    • 20' The Spaniards had a great 10 minutes but it's been all Arsenal since then.
    • 19' From the corner Arsenal win another corner... it's cleared, but is played back in for Clichy to head on target and draw a great save from Lopez!
    • 18' ...and Nasri is played in to space by Cesc Fabregas for a left-foot shot that's well saved.
    • 17' Arsenal push up looking dangerous...
    • 16' Veteran - well, except in AC Milan terms - Marcos Senna is on Marrk Hughes's hitlist for Mancester City. It's not hard to see why on this evidence.
    • 15' Walcott makes a nice run up the right but the ball is played weakly off the pitch by Fabregas; yet the Gunners win an erroneously-awarded corner.
    • 14' Fabregas takes it but booms it way too far; Denilson collects and wellies it off harmlessly, miles from the goal.
    • 13' Arsenal move forward and win a corner...
    • 12' Senna's goal was stunning, but Almunia wasn't well placed. He looks extremely unsettled at the moment...
    • 11' What an appalling start for the English sides tonight - United are down a goal as well. It's just as well Chelsea and Liverpool are playing each other, at least there will be one English club in the semi-finals...
    • 10' GOAL TO VILLARREAL!!!! It's the evergreen Marcos Senna, who hammers a long-range from just under 30 yards that curls brilliantly in to the top-right corner!
    • 9' Unsurprisingly, Collina-Wilkins-Ovrebo is attracting little stick from the players so far....
    • 8' Referee Tom Henning Ovrebo is a scary-looking bloke, looking exactly like a mutant hybrid of Ray Wilkins and Pierluigi Collina.
    • 7' The game is still being played at a ridiculous pace, it's end to end so far...
    • 6' The Gunners win a corner and Song gets to the ball but can only glance his header towards the corner flag.
    • 6' Villarreal break down the right through Cani, but it's well dealt with and Arsenal move upfield.
    • 4' OFF THE LINE!!!! An extraordinary start sees Almunia wildly out of position to deal with Llorente's effort, but Clichy is there to deal with the danger and give the goalie time to recover.
    • 4' Another corner won by the Spaniards after a fast, fluid run upfield...
    • 2' The ball is well cleared and Arsenal settle in.
    • 1' That's kick-off and Villarreal make a good break, quickly winning a corner.
