    Time:90'

    • Standard Liège
    • 90'+3 Peep! Peep! Peeeeeep! That will do it for Arsenal. A commanding performace with Denilson's 30-yard strike the highlight. In truth it could have been a lot more. Liege were lucky Arsenal didn't need goals tonight otherwise it could have be more. The Gunners march into the knockout stages. Liege have it all to do if they are to qualify from Group H
    • 90'+3 There will be a minimum of three minutes additional time.
    • 86' Gonzalez of Standard Liege is shown a red card. Liege down to ten men.
    • 86' Arsenal's Fabregas is cautioned
    • 86' Great run from Eboue. It opened up for the defender and he took full advantage...Bolat makes a good save.
    • 83' Real opportunity for Liege. A quick break down the left side is stopped by a strong challenge by Silvestre. Good defending...from the corner the ball finds Alex Witsel on the edge of the box but he strikes the right-hand upright.
    • 82' Arsenal's Song has just been clattered inside the centre circle and is hobbling a bit. Not what the Gunners need with Chelsea at the weekend.
    • 80' I'm starting to feel a bit sorry for Manuel Almunia in the Arsenal goal. He's been a bit of a spare part for the entire game.
    • 76' Liege cannot string three passes together. No, seriously.
    • 75' Arsenal are almost down to walking pace. And they're still in total control. It's a totally controlled performace. A third goal would round it off nicely.
    • 73' Liege are beginning to get after the Arsenal midfield now. It's not working particularly well but at least they have a bit more presence.
    • 72' Walcott dances into the box but chooses not to pick out Arshavin who was free eight yards out.
    • 71' Mangala of Standard Liege is cautioned
    • 68' Mulemo of Standard Liege is cautioned.
    • 67' STANDARD LIEGE SUB: Cyriac replaces Mbokani.
    • 66' ARSENAL SUB: Rosicky replaces Denilson.
    • 66' Unlucky Walcott! Young Theo gives the crowd what they want and fizzes a shot at goal. It just strays past the far post.
    • 63' STANDARD LIEGE SUB: Moussa Traore replaces Wilfried Dalmat
    • 62' A mis-placed pass in the Liege midfield is pounced upon by Arshavin but his through pass is a yard too far for Vela to reach. Nearly.
    • 60' ARSENAL SUB: Walcott replaces Nasri.
    • 56' A cry of 'Theo! Theo!' goes up around the Emirates. Is Walcott about the enter the fray?
    • 56' Still plenty of Arsenal possession but a real lack of penatration. If they could just step it up to grab a third Liege are there for the taking.
    • 52' Liege should have scored. The free-kick was floated in and Alex Witsel scuffs a shot straight at Almunia from three yards out. Terrible miss.
    • 51' Arsenal are very comfortable now. If they don't grab a third Liege might sniff the opoprtunity to get something out of this game. Stranger things have happened...Liege have a free-kick 25 yards out...
    • 50' It's pretty much as-you-were. Arsenal have the ball. Liege don't.
    • 46' First effort of the second period and Fabregas lets fly from 25 yards. It sails waaaaaaaaaay wide.
    • 45' ARSENAL SUB: Silvestre replaces Gallas.
    • - With a shrill blow of the referee's whistle we're off again at the Emirates Stadium. Will Liege stage a stunning comeback or will Arsenal put this out of reach?
    • 45'+2 Half-time at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal lead 2-0. It's an uphill battle for Standard Liege now.
    • 45'+2 GOAL FOR ARSENAL!!! Denilson absolutely spanks one from 30 yards. It moves a touch in the air but the keeper is left with egg on his face. Could be the game-winner.
    • 45' There will be a minimum of 2 minutes of additional time.
    • 41' Arshavin involved again. He plays in Fabregas down the right-hand channel but with the keeper falling the wrong way it screws wide from 12 yards.
    • 40' Nasri plays in Arshavin, who is back on with a lovely, clean, new shirt, but he shoots narrowly wide.
    • 40' Gallas has thrown Goreux to the ground in the penalty area...the ref is right behind them...he says no spot kick. I still can't believe it. It's the most obvious foul I've ever seen. Ever.
    • 38' Fabregas shoots from the right-hand edge of the box but the keeper saves with ease.
    • 36' Gallas is back on but looks as if he has no idea what day it is. He must come off??
    • 35' GOAL FOR ARSENAL!!! Thomas Vermaelen plays a long ball towards Samir Nasri on the right-hand edge of the box. Goreux slipped as it dropped over his shoulder allowing Nasri to stroke it past Bolat into the far corner. Lovely finish.
    • 33' Both Arshavin and Gallas are off the pitch. Arsenal down to nine men.
    • 30' Gallas gave Arshavin a hefty whack as they both went for the header and both players are down. Blood all over Arshavin's head and Gallas doesn't look much better.
    • 30' Another chance for Arsenal, another chance for William Gallas. This time the Frenchman sends his header over the bar from Fabregas' left-wing cross...maybe he should have used his hand?
    • 29' Vermaelen concedes a free-kick 35 yards out..Dalmat has a go but it was always drifting wide of the Arsenal goal.
    • 27' Well into this game now and for all Arsenal's possession it's still 0-0. Liege, who can still qualify, are in this game without a doubt.
    • 24' Hilarious decision. Mbokani trips his own defender, Goreux, and gets the free-kick.
    • 22' Arsenal have completed 104 passes to Liege's 28...but it almost counts for nothing as Mbokani turns on the edge of the box...shoots...and it cracks off the far post with Almunia clutching thin air. Great effort.
    • 20' Eboue surges into the penalty area and goes down. The ref isn't interested and rightly so. He dived. Clearly.
    • 15' A look at the replay shows Vermaelen's shot was blocked by the head of Arshavin. Cracking clearance though.
    • 14' Proper old-school ping-pong in the Liege penalty area....Song's header is blocked from a corner...Vela then hits the post from four yards...Gallas then has a go and his shot is blocked...but only as far as Vermaelen whose own effort is cleared off the line. Great playground stuff.
    • 13' Arsenal are looking to walk the ball into the net here. No question. The crowd are getting a little impatient. A little.
    • 12' William Gallas makes a tackle but looks to be limping and clutching his knee. Not good.
    • 11' Arsenal are completely dominant. Their movement is like a seasoned hula-hoop dancer. Mesmeric.
    • 9' Great chance! Song put Nasri through on goal wide on the right. Instead of shooting he crossed. It fell to Denilson but his shot was saved.
    • 6' Arsenal have survived six minutes without conceding. They were 2-0 down at this stage in Matchday one against Liege.
    • 4' More pressing by Arsenal. Arshavin leaves it for Gibbs but his cross is cleared...Nasri and Fabregas combine but the Spainard shoots straight at Bolat.
    • 3' First effort of the night. Arsenal's Nasri pulls a shot from 20 yards wide of the far post. Encouraging signs for the home side.
    • 1 ' Nice, confident start from the Gunners. Liege look to be set-up to be 4-5-1. Could be an interesting game of cat and mouse.
    • - We are off and underway at the Emirates Stadium, north London
    • - I've just seen what Eboue has under his shirt. It's a vest that reads 'For the love of God for ever'. Let's pray he doesn't score.
    • - Referee: Konrad Plautz (Austria)
    • - Standard Liege team: Bolat, Camozzato, Mangala, Sarr, Goreux, Felipe, Gonzalez, Dalmat, Mulemo, Witsel, Mbokani Subs: Van Hout, Victor Ramos, Rocha, Traore, Gershon, Nicaise, Gohi-Bi
    • - Arsenal team: Almunia, Eboue, Gallas, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Nasri, Song, Fabregas, Denilson, Arshavin, Vela. Subs: Mannone, Sagna, Rosicky, Eduardo, Walcott, Silvestre, Traore
    • - And Arsenal have won their last four matches against Belgian clubs and have never been beaten at home by a team from Belgium. If that wasn't easy reading for Liege fans then you will not want to know that Standard have won only two of their last 16 European away games.
    • - Now the good news for the WengerBoys - Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 28 Champions League home games against foreign opposition...so Chelsea don't count.
    • - But, Olympiacos could also reach the next round with a victory as long as Standard fail to beat Arsenal. Got that? Good.
    • - Arsenal need a draw against Liege to tie up their qualification although they would also go through with a defeat if Olympiacos lose to Alkmaar...
    • - Right then, first the science bit. Pay attention...
  • Summary
