Ex-Liverpool winger Albert Riera takes his place on the left flank with former Arsenal defender, Emmanuel Eboue also involved. Umut Bulut is on the bench and has been replaced by Johan Elmander, the one-time Bolton striker. He lines up in attack alongside Burak Yilmaz.
- 19.20 Meanwhile, Alex Ferguson is hoping his fringe players rise to the occasion in what promises to be a hostile but passionate atmosphere. He said: "We don't consider the younger players a gamble. It will be a great occasion for our players to go and make a name for themselves. Of course, our aim as always, will be to win. When we were here in 1993 the atmosphere was incredible. The home supporters have enormous passion and their enthusiasm is fantastic."
- 19.15 Ahead of the contest Gala coach Fatih Terim spoke of his admiration for the Group H winners and the huge test his team face. He told his pre-match press conference: "We are going to play against one of the most respected managers in the world, Alex Ferguson, and his team. Manchester United lost and can still play the same team in the next game of this group,simply because they won their first 4 games.People can call it an easy group(and it has appeared that way) but didn`t M.U. get an easy group last year?They won their group and can now concentrate on other competitions.I think it will be a similar lineup next game,and why not? Has he not seen thatUnited are managing the debt and are still the richest sports team in the world, city's owner has money but because of FFP they can only spend what they earn, which isn't much, city will be back to midtable within three years, TICK TOCK!
After watching the game i thought we played a great game everyone played their socks off , fantastic experience for the younger players they can only benefit , with a bit more luck could have come away with a point at least . My only two pieces of criticism is again Danny Wellbeck hes a runner not a footballer awfull and then he brings on Maceda no words can explain how poor he is gave ball away 5 times and managed to loose ball in the box in last minutes but able to luckily pass the ball on , both have got to go not good enough for United. Ref had a good game let it flow .
