Juventus left Chelsea's Champions League future out of their hands after a 3-0 win for the Italians in their Group E encounter in Turin. More
- Thanks for joining us tonight. Do you think Chelsea can make it? A draw against Shakhtar will be enough for Juve. And is this the end for Roberto Di Matteo? Seems mad to suggest it but this is Abramovich we're talking about. Let me know on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport, and have a good night! FOLLOW ON TWITTER!
90+4 The ref puts Chelsea out of their misery and Juve win 3-0, meaning Chelsea must beat the Danes in their last match, while Shakhtar - already through after their win - have to do the Blues a favour against Juve.
90+3 Juve counter as Marchisio runs away. Chiellini has picked up an injury, a slight one as he walks away, but that's his night done.
90+2 Giovinco is booked for stripping off in celebration.
90+1 GOAL JUVENTUS! 3-0 as Cech rushes madly out of his box, even though Cole had the run on Giovinco, who slips a low finish into the empty net. 3-0.
89' JUVE SUB: Former Man Utd teenager Pogba replaces Quagliarella.
83' JUVE SUB: Vucinic comes off for Giovinco.
76' Ramires with a heavy challenge on Chiellini as he brought it clear, a booking.
74' SHOULD HAVE BEEN THREE! Vucinic spoons it over the far from 12 yards after a fine low cross by Caceres.
71' CHELSEA SUB: Torres comes on for Mikel as Chelsea go from a 4-6-0 to 4-3-3.
67 JUVE SUB: Well, it's Juve who move first as Lichtsteiner - an attacking full-back if there ever was one - is replaced by Martin Caceres, a centre-back really.
61' GOAL JUVENTUS! Vidal drills a low finish through Cech via another deflection, Ramires this time. More bad fortune for Chelsea, but good play Asamoah and Vucinic in the build-up.
60' CHELSEA SUB: Moses replaces Azpilicueta as they look for a more conventional winger.
59' The Quag springs the offside trap, looked off to me but Luiz is left stranded and he must score but Cech races out to force him wide, making the angle tight and batting it away for a corner.
58' JUST WIDE BY PIRLO! I think Cech got a touch there as the Italy man's long-range howitzer flew across. Corner.
50 NO PENALTY JUVE! Cahill seemed to haul down Vucinic as he flicked it around him. How was that not a peno?
46' The second half is underway as Cole heads away a dangerous Asamoah cross.
- Any views on that manic half, find me on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport. Obviously cannot guarantee a response, but fire away. FOLLOW ON TWITTER!
45+1 Just the one minute of added time and the ref blows up a few seconds early. Juve lead 1-0, could be 3-3.
41' Cynical from Bonucci as Mata was set to race away. Booking.
40' ALMOST AN EQUALISER! Straight from that chance, Chelsea break and Hazard crosses for the unmarked Mata whose first-time finish is gathered by Buffon as the pair collide. Phew!
39' OFF THE LINE BY COLE! Almost a second as Lichtsteiner's header beat Cech but somehow Cole flew across to flick it off the line!
37' GOAL JUVENTUS! Quagliarella claims it but it looked like he had no idea! Deflection at best.
36' Quagliarella is down on halfway, injured... his knee it seems.
35' Oscar springs the offside trap, he's in here but Bonucci and Buffon combine to block his shot and it's back with the keeper.
16' GREAT SAVE CECH AGAIN! Marchisio with a fine rising drive after a lovely short corner routine. Corner. This time Chelsea clear and the Quag kicks Azpilicueta in the face. Ow.
9' SIDE NETTING! What a counter from Chelsea, fantastic run from Oscar, incredible from his own half and he slipped Hazard in on the right, one-on-one but Buffon got a touch. Corner.
4' WHAT A SAVE BY CECH! Fantastic move by Juve as Asamoah and Vucinic combine for the Montenegrin to put a cross flashed across goal for Lichtsteiner, but a huge save from the star-shaped Cech to bat it on to the post!
1' The first half is underway!
19:42 @isaac884: "i know its gonna be difficult but chelsea all the way... 1-2"; @gregmacintyre7: "#CFC could do the job against Juve! False 9 worked for Spain instead of torress, maybe it will work for Chelsea." HAVE YOUR SAY ON TWITTER!
19:41 @SamwellerSF: "Juve to beat Chelsea 3:1. I am a Chelsea man but..."; @micaeljohnstone: "can't wait to see how Bendtner plays. Oh wait..."; @incakolanews: "WmHill got it right I think. Juve in must win home game vs slightly depleted CFC are faves here. Put me down for 2-0 or 3-1" HAVE YOUR SAY ON TWITTER!
19:40 @IlyasDonxQuinte: "actually what is #CFC current formation rite now" - no-one knows if it's a 5-5-0 or a 4-6-0. Obviously the '0' signifies that there are three attacking midfielders and no outright striker, although we expect Hazard and Mata to trade that role with Oscar roaming behind and Ramires and Mikel sitting deep. The question is whether Azpilicueta is a wing-back in a five, or a wide midfielder with Ivanovic at right-back. FOLLOW ON TWITTER!
19:15 The bookies, such as William Hill, have Juve as clear favourites at 4/5, with Chelsea at 10/3. I think those are dangerously long odds on Chelsea, who we all know can pull out pretty much any result, at any venue. What are your predictions? Let me know on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport. I Hate Italian Teams !
Marco Marin is very good!!! Play him !!!
Regarding our club's policies and we fan's impatient expectations, the fittest option for the replacement of De Mateo is Guardiola not Benitez.
We blue fans have still in mind the memory of De mateo's brilliant appearance in the lineup of Lazio, Italy and Chelsea. He won us the first Champions League cup last year. But after all Roman Abramovic shouldn't has assigned too early him such a demanding job since the decent Italian wasn't proficient and experienced enough to bring back our team to peak days. In addition his tactical knowledge and managerial power is still far distant from perfection.
Don't blame Roman for firing RDM. Honestly he had it coming, he had been riding his luck too long. He is not competent enough to be coaching a top level club. He lacks the tactical fortitude....He has not convinced in any game against quality opposition (Barcelona, Napoli, Manchester, Liverpool, Bayern, Atletico) his players through sheer will and determination have masked this fact for a while. When the team leaders are all gone(lampard, Terry, Drogba), tailspins and the team is on downward spiral. Come on now this guy should not have been more than an Interim coach. He rode his luck to the ground like thoroughbred racehorse and now we all know he is not up to par.
Maybe, just maybe he picked such a #$%$ lineup/formation because he knew he was getting sacked the next day. Ah well, another day another manager. Ever since the sporadic sacking of managers every half season, I've relegated myself from a Chelsea fan to casual observer of football matches. This only serves to reinforce that stance.
RDM practically collapsed the mid-field as soon as he removed Mikel...leaving only Ramires ...
The owner has the money the manager has the knowledge the owner has a short memory the manager will go elsewhere and be welcomed. Perhaps if the owner wants to appoint a new manager rather than a puppet he should contact steve clarke
Opportunities are being wasted; hopes faded away; fans patience spilling over and Blues are still sliding down the table, yet no remedy or solution is thought of, no decision and amendment is made. De Mateo's mismanagement coupled by the arrogant, stupid performance of Torres, Luiz, Ramirez and Mikle are destroying Chelsea's prospects and reputation.
Peter i laughed when you included ManU and barcelona in the same sentence hahahaha
Wake up Chelsea, you need John Terry very very badly.
The usual stupid and ignorant remarks from the anti Chelsea crowd., Chelsea fully deserved to win the CHAMPIONS League having beaten Barcelona and Munich, they are in the stage of rebuilding the team as Arsenal are doing and will be great again within two years. Torres and Sturridge must go, two top defenders and two forwards will bring the results needed ,a big mistake the club made was to sell Alex who is a good defender, there is no one to fill Terry's place while he is injured. I have followed football since 1945 when it was a joy to watch the game, now the standard of football has declined as has education hence the comments given are from low mentality persons which is not surprising these days. KMS
im italian and im a juventus fan... im happy to read so many correclty comment...i think di matteo did it wrong when he put inside torres late...
Juventus would crumble at the hands of a top team. E.g Barcelona or Manchester United.
only two shots on target now thats c.o.e form
well done european champion chelsea shows the trophy don't genuinely belong to you. seems you got it by luck which has now run out.
Chelsea were poor but Juventus will achieve jackshit in this competition, that was there final
chelsea are #$%$ #$%$ #$%$
chelsea are #$%$
Muhahaha, Shahtar-Juve draw in the next round and the most disgusting anti-football team ever won the CL goes out. Justice made!
