    • 90' WHAT A SAVE FROM GUAITA AGAIN!! Substitute Nolan Roux latches onto a cross into the penalty area and turns his header on goal. The Valencia custodian somehow manages to turn the ball away from under the crossbar and out for a corner.
    • 89' Chedjou has his pocket picked deep into his own half and nearly puts his team in trouble but Tino Costa is adjudged to have fould the defender.

    • 71' Lille are still enjoying the majority of the ball. Rodelin swings the ball in from the right but Bruno has to manipulate his position in order to win the header. He does so very well but can’t direct the header on goal.

    • 69' Valdez is in a heap on the floor after taking the ball rather hard in the face. Chedjou hooks the ball from the side of the striker but it smashed the Valencia man in the face. For some reason, the referee gives a free kick. Bizarre.

    • 66' Martin’s corner is cleared at the near post which allows for David Albelda to take the ball out of his half. The captain looks to find Nelson Valdez with a slick pass but it is cut out by a well-timed challenge.
    • 65' The hosts will finish bottom of this group, though, so they may as well go for it now – give their fans something to cheer about. Kalou wins his side a corner which Martin will take.
    • 64' Valencia have settled down again now and are rolling the ball across their back four. Lille are forced to press high and this is where gaps may start to open.
    • 63' Ricardo Costa’s poor defensive header from inside his own half only reaches the edge of the penalty area where Martin is waiting. The substitute steadies himself before volleying at goal. It wasn’t the easiest of volleys to pull off but Martin will not be happy as it flies high and wide.

    • 61' That really was a poor effort from Bruno. He lacked the confidence to take the ball into the box and then made a real hash of the shot. The hosts are showing some promise, though.

    • 58' The hosts are really going for it here. They’re pushing men forward and the crowd are responding. Martin is instantly in the thick of the action as he is up against Rami one-on-one. The substitute looks to pass when he really should shoot from 15 yards.

    • 56' Bayern maybe down to 10 men but they have just doubled their lead in the other match. It looks like Valencia will have to settle for second place.

    • 52' Balmont again looks to force something. He collects the ball on the half way line and drives forward. The midfielder trades a one-two with Gueye and then looks to roll in Kalou down the right but the pass rolls out for a Valencia throw-in.

    • 44' Victor Ruiz takes the ball out of defence and down the left. He gets to the half way line and attempts a ball into the feet of Albelda but the pass is poor and the defender puts his team in trouble. Rami clears the cross out for a corner.
    • 43' Balmont is still all over the pitch. He’s really trying to inject some urgency into his team but they are still missing that final ball. They’ve enjoyed a nice amount of possession in this opening half but have failed to really challenge the keeper.
    • 41' Feghouli produces an acrobatic effort on the edge of the penalty area. He’s under no pressure at all and is allowed to play keepy-ups before attempting an overhead kick. The contact is poor and hits the first defender.
    • 40' Cissokho breaks down the left, hurdling the challenge of Gueye. The full-back is all alone on the left and attempts a cross field ball into the path of Feghouli but it is cut out.
    • 39' Balmont is really working his socks off in the middle of the park. He is sprinting from man-to-man, closing down the opposition but the rest of his team don’t look as committed.

    • 17' Valencia are currently camped in their own third as Lille apply some pressure. The hosts are passing it around well on the edge of the opposition penalty area but that killer pass is lacking at the moment.
    • 16' Rami slips as he attempts a clearance which allows for Kalou to sneak past him and claim the ball. The defender recovers well and gets his body in between Kalou and the goal, making a challenge on the edge of the penalty area.
