    • 920+2 FULL TIME. Chelsea are forced to settle for a point despite two goals from Oscar on his full debut. Mikel's mistake allows Juve to get a point from a thrilling game.
    • 90' Into injury time we go, can either side snatch a win here?
    • 89' Juve look vulnerable from a Chelsea free kick but Torres sees his low drive blocked when the ball drops to him in the box.
    • 88' Juve make a change as Alessandro Matri comes on for Vucinic.
    • 86' Juve hit the bar! Quagliarella takes possession just inside the box and spins quickly before curling a shot onto the top of the crossbar! So close.
    • 84' Stat from Opta: "Chelsea are unbeaten against Juventus in the Champions League. They met in the last 16 of the 2008/09 campaign, with Chelsea winning 1-0 at Stamford Bridge before drawing 2-2 in Turin."
    • 82' Mikel was also at fault for a sloppy pass, and Chelsea will be kicking themselves.
    • 80' GOAL! Chelsea 2-2 Juventus! Terry makes a mess of his attempt to play offside and Marchisio plays in Quagliarella, who slots the ball through the legs of Petr Cech!
    • 79' What a chance! Mata and Hazard combine to great effect and after a one-two the Spaniard finds himself in the box before curling his shot into the side netting.
    • 77' Mauricio Isla replaces Lichtsteiner for Juventus.
    • 76' Marchisio plays a ball into Vucinic but mystifyingly the striker dummies and allows the ball to run through him and straight to Luiz. Chelsea gratefully clear.
    • 75' Here is the change: Oscar comes off to a fantastic reception and Mata is on in his place. Juve also bring on Fabio Quagliarella for Giovinco.
    • 74' Chiellini looks for a ball over the top but as he attempts to part the Chelsea defence, there is not a Bianconeri shirt in sight.
    • 73' Vucinic tries to play the ball wide to Giovinco but puts too much on it and his team-mate looks frustrated as the ball soars out of play.
    • 72' Now Chelsea are preparing Mata - surely for Oscar - as the tempo drops in this excellent contest.
    • 71' Oscar hobbles back on though and he should be okay.
    • 70' Oscar limps off and there is surely a chance he will not continue, making Di Matteo's decision to take off Ramires slightly strange.
    • 69' Here comes the change as Bertrand comes on for Ramires. He will switch to the left while Hazard comes across to the right, but they made the change despite Oscar being down injured too.
    • 68' Chelsea are getting Ryan Bertrand ready on the sidelines.
    • 66' Vidal goes into the book for a cynical pull on the shirt of Oscar as he tries to race away.
    • 65' Juve go close! A slack piece of play from Lampard allows Marchisio to take possession 25 yards from goal but as he tries to break into the box Chelsea intervene. Corner to Juve but they waste it.
    • 64' When the ball comes back into the box from Juventus, Bonucci rises at the back post but heads onto his own arm and wide of the goal.
    • 63' Excellent from Cole! Giovinco whips in a dangerous cross from the left and Cole heads clear when it looks uncertain as to whether Cech will get to it. Safety first from the England man.
    • 62' Juve have been blunted as an attacking force in the second half and Chelsea are defending well as a unit.
    • 61' Responsibility for the free kick falls to Giovinco but his curling effort is high and wide. A poor attempt from the Italy international.
    • 60' Ramires goes in to win the ball with his studs up and although he wins it, the referee books him for dangerous play.
    • 58' Hazard goes down and wants a penalty! There is some contact from Barzagli but the Belgian went to ground rather easily and nothing is given. Still, it probably was a spot-kick.
    • 56' Oscar releases Hazard with a fine pass across midfield but Lichtsteiner catches up with the Belgian to dispossess him. Doesn't look like that injury is affecting him too much at the moment.
    • 55' Lichtsteiner also looks in trouble and may have suffered a hamstring injury.
    • 54' Torres tries to dink in a cross for Ramires and as the Brazilian charges in to meet the ball at the near post he is clattered by Buffon. Ramires needs treatment and he looks winded.
    • 53' Lampard takes the free kick and he whips it in dangerously, as Buffon punches away rather unconvincingly. A decent attempt.
    • 52' Bonucci fouls Lampard 25 yards from goal in a central area. It's a nice position for a free kick...
    • 51' Buffon forced into action as a good spell of Chelsea pressure ends with Ivanovic unleashing a dipping shot from 25 yards that looks to be sneaking inside the far post before the Juve keeper flings out his right arm.
    • 50' Stat from Opta: "This is Chelsea’s 10th consecutive participation in the Champions League. They’ve reached the semi-finals six times and the final twice, winning it for the first time in their history last season."
    • 48' Chelsea break and Hazard collects the ball to the left of the box before trying to scoop a pass over the defence to find Ramires at the back post. The Brazilian leaps into the air but the ball skids off the top of his head and away.
    • 47' Giovinco tries to pop a pass through for Marchisio but puts a bit too much on the ball as it squirms through to Cech.
    • 46' KICK OFF!
    • - What did you make of that first half? Have we seen the birth of a new star on Oscar night? Send me any other terrible Oscar puns on Twitter. Follow Tom Adams on Twitter!
    • 45+1' HALF TIME. A late free kick for Juventus but Pirlo curls the ball wide. Half time, and Oscar has been the star of the show so far, without doubt.
    • 45' Vidal pokes a good pass out to Giovinco but the little playmaker's decision to shoot first time on the spin is flawed as he drives the ball into a Chelsea defender.
    • 44' Ramires gets a shot away inside the box with the outside of his right boot but after Buffon parries it away, Oscar is unable to latch onto the loose ball.
    • 42' Chelsea are looking to regain control of this game having allowed Juventus back in with that Vidal goal, but it has set things up perfectly for the second half.
    • 40' What a first half this has been. Two good teams, full of attacking intent. It makes a change from Chelsea's performances in the competition last season.
    • 38' GOAL! Chelsea 2-1 Juventus! Vidal, who earlier suffered a knock to his a ankle, scores a lovely goal. Marchisio plays the ball square and the midfielder takes a fine touch to find space 20 yards from goal and rolls a shot through the legs of Terry and inside the far post.
    • 37' Juve go in search of a reply before half time but Vucinic can't find a way through. The Italian champions probe down the centre and down the right but can't find a way through.
    • 36' Stat from Opta: "Juventus have lost their last six Champions League away games in England. "
    • 35' Two goals in two minutes for Oscar. A star is born. What a statement to make on your first start for the club. That's £25 million well spent.
    • 33' GOAL! Chelsea 2-0 Juventus! Two goals in a minute for Oscar! A sensational strike, this one. Cole plays a pass forward to the young playmaker and with his first touch he plays the ball to one side of Pirlo and spins around, before coming to meet it again and with his second touch bending a wonderful shot into the far corner.
    • 31' GOAL! Chelsea 1-0 Juventus! Oscar scores on his first start for the Blues! He has been quiet so far tonight but after receiving a square pass from Hazard he takes a touch 20 yards from goal and sees his drive deflect up off the leg of Bonucci and over the arm of Buffon.
    • 30' Big chance for Juve! Ivanovic plays a loose pass straight to Vidal and after he slips in Vucinic, the striker has time to measure up a shot from the right of the box but thumps the ball into the side netting. Disappointing.
    • 29' Only a half-chance for Ramires as he gets a shot away from inside the box but hammers it high into the West London sky.
    • 28' It is an interesting corner routine as Pirlo plays the ball along the floor to Vucinic at the near post. The striker tries to flick the ball into the path of Vidal first time but Chelsea intercept and clear before the Chile midfielder can get a shot away.
    • 27' Lichtsteiner pulls the ball back for Vucinic from wide on the right and after delaying the striker sees his effort from a tight angle deflected behind for a corner.
    • 26' Oscar combines well with Lampard through the centre as he plays a one-two with the England man. However, he is unable to get the reverse pas under the requisite control to open Juve up.
    • 25' Stat from Opta: "Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 26 Champions League group stage games at home (20 wins, six draws)."
    • 24' Ivanovic's cross is too deep for Torres but Hazard sweeps up the back post, finding Ramires with a square pass. The Brazilian has a great chance to get a shot away from eight yards but takes a couple too many touches and tries to play in Torres. Juve clear, and Ramires is left frustrated. He had to test Buffon.
    • 22' Huge chance for Juve! Marchisio springs the offside trap to run onto a high ball over the top from Barzagli but his first touch is far from perfect when through on goal and Cech comes off his line to block at the feet of the midfielder!
    • 21' Pirlo goes short and Juve waste the opportunity when failing to have a shot on goal. This game is yet to catch fire in truth.
    • 20' Vidal sprays a first-time volleyed pass to Vucinic, who goes to ground when Luiz clatters into him from behind. Clever play from the forward as he wins a free kick 35 yards from goal. Pirlo stands over it.
    • 19' Now Luiz supplies a cross from the right as Juve head away again. The pressure is increasingly markedly on the away side now.
    • 18' Juve panic as Hazard puts in a dangerous cross from the left and Torres gets in front of Asamoah to get a head to the ball. Juve put the ball behind but the Hazard corner is poor.
    • 17' Torres threatens to break clear for Chelsea but his pass out left to Hazard is horrible. Oscar was coming on the right as well and the striker wasted a very nice opening.
    • 16' Vidal gets his first sight of goal when Giovinco plays the ball square to him and the Chile international sees his effort deflected wide for a corner.
    • 14' Vucinic wins the ball back from a lazy Mikel and only a good interception from Luiz prevents him from setting Giovinco free in the box. Mistakes occur on either side, but Chelsea have the edge at the moment.
    • 13' Ramires - who has been bright so far - tries to pick out Torres for a header but Barzagli heads behind for a corner. Lampard will take it...
    • 12' Ashley Cole threatens to make headway down the left but Barzagli charges across to throw himself into a challenge and extinguish the danger.
    • 11' Lampard turns one way and then the other 25 yards from goal as he looks for a pass. Seeing none he instead takes a shot and his deflected effort bounces into the arms of Buffon.
    • 10' Luiz closes down Giovinco quickly 25 yards from goal and forces the tiny playmaker into a loose pass that rolls out for a Chelsea throw.
    • 9' Stat from Opta: "Last season, Chelsea won all six of their games at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League, scoring 17 goals and conceding only two."
    • 8' Pirlo takes out three Chelsea players with a pass of beautiful simplicity through to Vucinic. He spreads it wide but again Juventus are unable to carve out a chance.
    • 7' Cole fails to deal with a lofted pass from Pirlo and the ball rolls into the path of Vucinic. He tries to play in Lichtsteiner but puts too much on the ball.
    • 6' Replays show that Chiellini had his hands all over Terry from that previous corner and as he brought him to ground Chelsea could arguably have had a penalty.
    • 5' Mirko Vucinic rolls off Luiz and into space in the box but as he fails to bring down a ball over the top of the defence he is ruled offside in any case.
    • 4' Big chance for Chelsea! The home side win another corner and Frank Lampard delivers an outswinger. Juve have three centre-backs on the pitch but none of them can shackle Luiz as he gets a toe to the ball and sends it directly at Buffon, who saves. He should have done better.
    • 3' Ramires and Oscar combine on the counter and Chelsea win a corner when Bonucci puts a cross from the right behind. The ball bounces around the box following the set-piece but Gianluigi Buffon grabs control.
    • 2' Chelsea look comfortable on the ball in the early stages before David Luiz heaves a long ball down the line to Ramires, who gets his head to the ball but loses possession. As expected, Oscar lines up behind Torres, with Ramires to the right and Hazard to the left.
    • 1' KICK OFF!
    • 19:45 The armed forces are parading the Champions League trophy around all four ends of Stamford Bridge. If any further inspiration were needed for Chelsea's players then that may have provided it. The players come out to a warm reception at Stamford Bridge.
    • 19:40 If you want to get in touch with me during the game, please feel free to do so via Twitter. I can't promise I will reply, because I will be busy and that, but say hello anyway if you like. Follow Tom Adams on Twitter!
    • 19:35 The last Chelsea player to kick a ball in the Champions League was Didier Drogba, as his penalty at the Allianz Arena ensured Chelsea emerged victorious from the shoot-out in Munich to win the European Cup for the first time. Can they retain the trophy this season? Almost certainly not - history dictates that much. But they certainly have the players to go very far in the competition. With Hazard in tow, they are a better team than last season.
    • 19:30 Rather surprisingly, Juventus have lost their past six Champions League games in England, while Chelsea are unbeaten against today's opponents in this competition, winning their last meeting at Stamford Bridge 1-0 in the last 16 in 2008-09.
    • 19:25 So, time for a few Opta stats: "This is Chelsea’s 10th consecutive participation in the Champions League. They’ve reached the semi-finals six times and the final twice, winning it for the first time in their history last season. Chelsea have made it out of the group stages every time in each of their 10 previous Champions League participations. Juventus are making their 13th appearance in the Champions League and their first since the 2009/10 season."
    • 19:20 No team has successfully defended the Champions League and Roberto Di Matteo said yesterday that Chelsea's task is all but "impossible." In truth they do make rather unlikely European champions - they needed a few slices of luck to see off Barca in the semis and then Bayern in the final, though you couldn't fault them for resolve and determination. It wasn't pretty, but it worked. Chelsea's impossible task
    • 19:15 Chelsea have had a fine start to the season in the Premier League - winning three of four games to go top of the table - but they had a rather rude awakening in Europe when being hammered 4-1 by Atletico Madrid in the European Super Cup. Chelsea said that was an aberration - a defensive disaster - and they should be much tighter tonight.
    • 19:10 A victory over Genoa at the weekend took Juventus' unbeaten run to 42 games in Serie A following their invincible title last season. However, coach Antonio Conte is unable to take charge of the team today as he serves a 10-month ban as a punishment for failing to report match-fixing during his time in charge of Siena. Assistant Massimo Carrera is the man on the touchline tonight.
    • 19:05 There are no surprises in the Juventus starting XI. They line up in a 3-5-2 formation with width provided by wing-backs Stephan Lichtsteiner and Kwadwo Asamoah. Sebastian Giovinco plays off lone striker Mirko Vucinic, while Claudio Marchisio and Arturo Vidal will look to provide space to Pirlo to do some damage. The trio of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leo Bonucci oozes international class.
    • 19:00 Chelsea's only change is the introduction of Oscar for Bertrand - a decision that means Juan Mata must make do with a place on the bench. The responsibility for keeping Andrea Pirlo quiet - something England completely failed to do at the Euros - falls to Ramires, who though stationed on the right is likely to tuck in and hassle the Italian deep playmaker.
    • 18:55 TEAM NEWS: Chelsea: Cech, Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole, Lampard, Mikel, Ramires, Oscar, Hazard, Torres. Subs: Turnbull, Azpilicueta, Cahill, Bertrand, Romeu, Mata, Moses.. /// Juventus: Buffon, Chiellini, Barzagli, Bonucci, Lichsteiner, Marchisio, Pirlo, Asamoah, Vidal, Vucinic, Giovinco. Subs: Storari, Lucio, Giaccherini, Isla, Marrone, Quagliarella, Matri.
    • 18:50 Early team news filters through as we learn that Oscar makes his first start for the club since his summer move from Internacional. He comes in for Ryan Bertrand in the front three.
    • 18:45 Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the Champions League Group E clash between reigning champions Chelsea and Italian champions Juventus.

  2. I agree, I'm no racism, but mikel should not play for chelsea anymore, I dont dislike him, but I hate him for always letting player past by him so easily, DM I think that you are a stubborn head, continue using mikel, our defence is fragile as always, Play oscar more instead of bertand u sucker DM u r wasting oscar talent by letting him warming the bench

From Kupo, on Fri 21 Sep 12:20
  3. Call a spade a spade. be honest to yourself at least. The error was solely John Terry's. A mix up in a pass between Mikel and Hazard was picked up by the Juve Defender. It was a mistake by Mikel for trying to instigate a counter-attack by playing Hazard on the run (i hindsight he should have booted the ball) and a mistake by Hazard for not making a run and for subsequently not attempting to fight for it when posession was lost. That was not the cause of the 2nd goal. Terry stupidly tried to play an attacker offside after the ball had been passed instead of sticking with his man.

  4. We shouldn't blame one person, let fix the mistakes and get prepare for the next matches. To all fans have the hope this season is yours. 7. I'm a Chelsea fan and the selection of John Obi has always been a mystery to me. He has the "occasional" good game but like Glenn Johnson, when he was at Chelsea, has a tendency to lose concentration when it really matters. All of Chelsea's managers seem to feel that he warrants a place in the team so they must see something in him but I can't. I really can't see why Gary Cahill was warming the bench last night either while David Luiz occupied a central defensive role. Luiz isn't a centre back and never will be, he's splay footed and cannot spin quick enough for a defender. Cahill needs to play alongside Terry and learn about defensive organisation from the master before replacing him. He's a good solid defender and, like J.T., can get forward and threaten from set pieces. ... I think Chelsea and Juve will qualify from this group but Chelsea need to tighten up at the back for sure...

  13. everybody talks about Mikel's mistake, why not blame the defense. when the ball was given away, they stayed stagnant, and allowed Juve to go around them. so STOP blaming Mikel, and blame the DEFENSE in General.

  14. Go juve,i am a big chelsea fan but letting essien go on loan was a big mistake by RDM.Mikel have no skills and scorring abilities.Asamoah we love you, keep playing hard and lets get rid of chelsea in the group stages.

  15. Here we go, I am a bid chelsea fan and i tell you all sopporters out ther that this season we will not win anything and RDM will loose his job if he continues to play that NO GOOD mikel in that position. My question is why allow the ALLMIGHTY ESSIEN to even go on loan to RM FC if you know you do not have a good cover in that position. Now look at your bench RDM,all the hard working black africans are gone(Drogs,Essien,Kalou),just to name a few.The money mikel paid you to play him all the time will surely backfire and it will cost you your job.Go Madrid.Essien will win another champions league on loan and he will laugh in the end.One more thing RDM,learn how to sub lampard and his brother terry when they are not performing and don't be afraid.

  16. McYinks post 94, totally agree, Ramires was way off the course tonight and should have been subbed after 35 minutes and as for Mikel well he should never start a chelsea match, he is not a top club player, west brom or wigan maybe but not chelsea, if RDM keeps picking him then he should be sacked.
