  1. TO ALL YOU PEOPLE SLAGGING NEWCASTLE OFF,YOU,S ARE ALL IN THE PISSY POP LEAGUE,ALL @#$% LIKE SUNDERLAND,WE,LL SEE WHO IS TALKING @#$% THIS TIME NEXT YEAR WHEN WE WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP,AND THE SUNDERLAND MANAGER IS A GEORDIE ANYWAY HAHA.

  3. I'm not so sure about all this 'extra referee's assistants near the goal' nor the use of video evidence.
Possibly, 'Hawkeye' is a practical option, Mohicans apart!
I have watched the goal highlights of Blackpool v Newcastle, several times on' Sky Sports News' today and, using rewind and pause button etc., the ball is prevented from reaching the goal by the arm of Baptiste. He must have felt it! Thus, it was a 'video penalty.' An extra official with the 'fastest eyesight in Britain, might have told the ref' the same?
In the real world, the ball was travelling at some pace. Baptise does turn as if to imply that he is doing his best to avoid contact and the ref' uses his own judgement to make his decision.
As a Blackpool fan I am philosophical about it. There have been plenty of times when Blackpool were denied victory in the past after playing their hearts out. This time it went their way.
You need a bit of luck in football.
Epilogue: 'Pool's goalie might have done a 'Gordon Banks' v Brazil if it hadn't hit Baptiste!
