  2. A heartwarming result for Blackpool. It really is looking good. But the manager is right to talk about 'marathons.'
Let's retain the humility that 'Pool have had to display over the last 10 years.

  11. I'm not so sure that it is possible, not to rely on other teams misfortune, now I come to think about it? Even if you have a goal difference of ten and you are nine points clear at the top, other teams must have been dropping points somewhere along the line for you to get into this position? Leagues are a ruthless business! Maybe it is true at the very end of the season when, with a couple of games to go, no one can catch you, providing you win your matches!

  12. Luxury is when you are not relying on other teams misfortune to advance up the table.

  15. Sorry about comment 6. I didn't wish to offend anybody. It's just that I can remember the last time Blackpool gained promotion to the '1st. Division.' Around March time I decided to get to all their games. Things were looking promising but I could see players like Alan Suddick getting progressively more tired. The team were realising that they had to keep winning during the final run-in. There was one particular throw-in, taken by Alan, near the corner flag ,between the scratching shed and the 'kop. I think Brian London was standing near me. Anyway, there were definite signs of tiredness in his face and his general manner. The players were working to a well rehearsed plan and didn't want to let each other down. Alan Suddick typified this committment. A great player.
However, what two fine chippy's in Blackpool have got to do with all this I am not so sure!

  16. There are no easy matches in the championship. By next April, there could be some players who look like extras in 'Shaun of the Dead!' At least Blackpool has miles of beach ; Seniors and The Cod Cottage.

  17. Blackpool and Peterborough have something in common. They both have an up to date understanding of Newcastle's ability.

  18. If Peterborough can draw away at Leicester they MUST be taken seriously!
