Countdown: -7 Days
90+4 Mellor gets a late shot on target - but it is straight at Harper.
90+3 Lovenkrands plays in Gutierrez. AWFUL finish from the Argentine though.
90' Lovenkrands comes on for Guthrie to help wasted a little time.
81' Preston rolling the dice. Sedgwick off and Jon Parkin comes on.
79' Eddie Nolan finds himself in space in the box and fires a shot on target but it is straight at Harper and he can bat away.
74' GOAL FOR NEWCASTLE!!!!!!! IT IS KEVIN NOLAN...the ball was dinked into the area from Guthrie and the ball dropped across the side of Nolan, he turned back onto it and placed it into the corner of the net. Superb finish - his eight league goal of the season.
74' Preston take off Davidson and bring on Eddie Nolan.
70' Decent little spin from Ranger on the edge of the box and he then curls his shot wide of the target.
66' Mellor gets in behind Taylor and looks all set to score but he fires wide past Harper when he looked all set to score. Best chance of the match.
65' Young Hungarian Tamas Kadar is on for Danny Simpson who might have picked up a knock.
61' Andy Carroll's shift is over and serial sub Nils Ranger comes on.
46' Bad news for Preston - Mawene was forced off after that challenge with his goalkeeper just on the stroke of half-time. Liam Chilvers comes on.
45+1 Lonergan and Mawene crash into each other with Harewood looking to get in between them. Mawene is hurt and needs treatment as the referee blows for half-time.
44' Poor defending from Newcastle after a long throw. Sedgwick checks it back to Mellor who side-foots a tame shot on target. That was a chance but Mellor needed to put more meat into it.
35' Brown with a good deep cross to the back post and Parry gets a decent header on it that just hits the roof of the net. Harper might have got there if it was on target but a decent moment for Preston.
17' Mellor gets a shot away inside the box from a tough angle - Harper makes a smart save but a decent effort.
16' No surprise to see that Alan Smith is the first man in the book for crashing into Sedgwick who was going for a header.
16' Ball drops to Tonge 25 yards out and he tries a fizzing half-volley but that screws wide of the target.
2' Half a chance for Newcastle already - they work a quick free-kick and Steven Taylor is found free at the back post. He tries a diving header but it gets got up in his body.
- Late change on the Newcastle team. Ryan Taylor has picked up an injury in the warm-up and now misses out. Marlon Harewood comes in with Kevin Nolan dropping back into midfield.

It's a big dilemma, win the Coca Cola ( get promoted ) and we'll struggle again in the Prem because Trailer park Trashley won't spend any cash on players. But you always want to win, and when you're in the Coca Cola, you always want to get promoted. The Toon should be able to win this one by the odd goal though. P N E 1. The TOON 2
Ashley. Have a bad accident you total *&%$

Ting Tong's out of hospital again, and he hasn't been taking his medication. Care in the community doesn't work. ask Ting Tongs nutty nurse.

........and big respect to mr hughton, keep it up big man. you've brought pride back to the toon.

i hope that the fat c##t who owns OUR club doesnt take any credit for our current form. this has nothing to do with you mike, we've sold off all the sh#t players you bought and made evreyone else play for their place, as a result we now have a team of football players that play well on the pitch, not on paper. love the toon, hate the cockney fat cat who brings shame to St james park.

we love you newcastle, we do .we love you newcastle ,we do .another 3 points in the bag

Another nice little earner for wor Mikey boy... well done my son! keep em muppets buying the pies.. ha ha ha ha! Lambs to the slaughter comes to mind...

easy game for the toon 5-0

easy game for the toon 5-0

Newcastle are the outstanding team in this division
However I do not think they are good enough for the premiership as they should be promoted probably with West Brom.

2-1 to the toon. i hope, close game.

come on nufc,oi ting !ucking tong bobby robson is a ledgend

this should be a comfortable one for the toon

ting tong: Immature, stupid, product of incest which is ripe in scumberland. You spend more time on this Great Site than you do on your own sh it site. I think your a secret Toon fan but live in the wrong area and are afraid to admit it to your monkey mates in the pub.
Poor sad deluded monkey.

Provided we can go into the Preston match with the same enthusiasm as the Peterborough match then we should be in for an interesting game. Preston have 6 wins behind them so they aren't to be underestimated. I just hope after 2 week off our boys don't come back complacent thinking were top of the league and Preston are mid-table. They will be a challenge.
Come on the toon, 3 more points please.

Come one Newcastle please win something god dame it
Don't Newcastle see the upertunety we could win something we have not won anything since 1954
win the cocacola chapionship please

No silly mistakes, keep the pressure on Preston and go for the jugular.
