    • 45' Good defending there from Walker, who throws his body in the way to concede a corner, from which Wood heads behind for a goal kick.

    • 42' GOAL!!! And it's an OWN GOAL!! It's Buxton who heads that past his own keeper after grappling with Henderson! 3-0 United!
    • 41' Few minutes of possession for Wednesday there ends with a Johnson cross to Tudgay, whose header lacks power and Bunn collects.
    • 38' The ball comes in and Grant doesn't quite get there under pressure from Morgan and Davies, but he does catch the next one.

    • 35' O'Connor gets a yellow for a double foul and from the free kick, the ball comes into the Wednesday box and Henderson has a free header, which he directs straight at Grant!

    • 32' Jermaine Johnson challenges Ward fairly, but Ward looks to have pulled a hamstring and his game appears over.
    • 31' The ref is having a very long chat with Henderson and Morgan after a foul by Henderson. No cards issued in the end.
    • 29' Gray's left foot is again the creative force for Wednesday, who zip another ball into the box and Davies wasn't far away from flicking that into his own net.

    • 23' This game is still being played at a frenetic pace and now Evans wins a throw in for United deep in the Wednesday half. The cross comes in, but it's cleared.

    • 19' United have a corner, as Purse comes over to challenge Henderson and puts it behind.

    • 14' GOAL!!! I think Henderson is claiming it! Again, not the best marking as a ball into the box isn't cleared and when the shot comes back in from Evans, Henderson sticks out a foot and it's in the back of the net! What a start for United! 2-0.
    • 13' Shot comes in from Potter! The ball breaks to him about 25 yards out and he hits it first time and Bunn has to dive to his left to make the save!
    • 11' As usual it's a hundred miles an hour stuff here at Bramall Lane and it's Wednesday on the attack here with Varney, who almost nips in in front of Bunn.
    • 9' Tudgay and Varney link up well and it's Varney with the shot, but it lacks power and is easy enough for Bunn. Gray was well placed and perhaps he could have played him in.
    • 7' GOAL!! From the resulting corner, a free header comes in from Morgan and the ball is deflected back to Jamie Ward, who makes no mistake from close range!! What a start here!
    • 6' United get their first corner of the game, which is headed clear, then Montgomery does well to get the ball in and Davies heads goalward. Grant makes the save!
    • 5' Darren Potter has a go from the free kick, but that is always rising and goes over the bar.
    • 4' Andrew Davies goes into the book for a robust challenge and Wednesday have a free kick in a great position.
    • 3' Michael Gray, who is operating on the right goes forward, but that goes out for a goal kick.
    • 2' Morgan concedes the first free kick and it's pumped into the United box then cleared and finally it comes to Bunn.

  1. lucky gets united, i dont support any of the teams but­ wednesday was all over them even in the 1st half when­ 3-0 down best team lost

    i feel really sorry 4 them­ who av season tickets 4 the blades my sons sunday­ league team could just boot it up evry time they get­ the ball - thats not how football should be played­ useless!!!

  2. Wednesday and the referees tried all they could to­ get­ back into the game and gift themselves a 3rd, but still­ wasn't enough to beat the­ Blades!!
    Refs gave­ wednesday everything, they scored­ with a free kick­ that never was a foul, blades could­ have and should­ have scored in the 2nd half through­ Morgan and then­ later, Evans.
    The tide has turned SWFC fans,­ the new­ dawn is red and white!

    By the way, loved the comments­ on various forums by wednesday fans... "Even­ though we lost it was like a win"

  8. Why does it take 3 goals for the Wednesday to wake up -­ same reason we go to sleep in other games?
    It is clear­ we are talented enough just something lacking in the­ backbone department - if you can't show pride­ wearing the blue and white against United then when can­ you?

    Sloppy mistakes are going to make this another­ frustrating season. Don't think they fear or­ respect Laws enough. Getting them playing for 45­ minutes is 45 minutes short of enough.
